I was raised in Chico, but lived in Iowa for the past twenty-seven years. This is my first time in Collier hardware since I got back here last August. Didn't seem like a whole lot had changed. They expanded and have a new grill area. But other than that, it's still the same hundred plus year old hardware store I remember from being a kid.I recommend them to anybody who needs just about anything hardware-related.

An independently owned small town hardware store. A rare thing these days. Always easy to find people to help and at least 1/2 appear very knowledgeable in hardware applications and the rest always know right where everything is and can refer to someone who does know the product applications. It is my favorite hardware store in town for sure I just wish parking was a little easier.

Always a great experience at Collier’s! They have so many special kitchen things. An amazing assortment of cookie cutters. I got an Italian pasta machine and an amazing cherry pitter there. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly. The products are high quality and that explains the higher prices. Support local and support a small business while anointing your kitchen with whatever you may need! They probably have it!!

I love this general store! I've been coming here since I was a little girl. It has so much to offer and it's just to cool. I went in today to get some stuff to clean my sons skateboard grip tape, a stick of belt sander cleaner and a soft wire brush...to cool! And then checked out some quality cookware! I just love this store!!!

Needed a piece for a valve, but which part? No problem at all, had the info I needed in 3 mins flat. Sadly, they were out. But thanks to them I knew what I needed and found it quickly.

This is a great store! They have an amazing collection of items. We looked at five stores for a tabletop electric burner without any luck and finally found it here. Next time we will call Collier’s first!

I love this place! It's a little like stepping back in time when you walk in. Wood plank floors and long customer service counters are a throwback to the old general store days. They have a great mix of products and I have yet to be turned away empty handed when looking for something unique, be it a one- off piece of hardware no one else carries, or a fancy kitchen device I've never even heard of until my wife asks for one for her birthday. It's just always an enjoyable experience shopping here.

I love the old time feel but you will find it's got wonderful up to date products as well. If your a cook, you'll love the stuff they have for that. Barbeque or oven. Lots of spray paint colors, ice cream makers etc. Friendly people.

Collier Hardware is a truly remarkable hardware store. They have a surprisingly large selection of items, from kitchen gadgets to bulk chain. If you can't find it at Collier, you probably don't need it.

A true classic. Great for both hardware and housewares. The kind of old fashioned hardware store where you can get pretty much anything you need for a project - and get exactly the amount you need. 10 screws? A 4 1/2 ft. piece of pipe? No problem. Also, SUPER COVID safe.

Been shopping here since I was a kid. Recently went in to spend my money locally on a BBQ. They had one left of the model I wanted. As they were bringing it out, the box was broken and falling off of the BBQ, and the BBQ itself was worn and looked like it had been used as the display model. I asked the owner to work with me on the price a little, but he refused. I took my money to the ACE hardware on East Ave and spent it there instead. Seems to me that in a time when big box store dominate the market, that a small local business would work a little harder to keep customers. I still shop at Collier's, it just left a bad taste.

My favorite place to shop for hardware and many other home improvement and maintenance goods in Chico. They have the friendliest staff and always have just what I need even when the large warehouse stores come up short. They carry everything from kitchen accessories and bakeware to the normal hardware store supplies and accessories.They were the only local store where I could find a replacement old delta model shower valve when mine was leaking. Highly recommend.

Collier hardware has a great selection and if you spend enough time in the store you will find something you didn't even know you needed. Like today I found they have a great section of bike lights and blinkers I didn't know they carried.

Collier Hardware is the antidote for indifferent big box hardware stores. I shop here frequently for materials for art making and I’m often trying to figure out how to engineer my projects. There is always someone available to answer questions and brainstorm solutions. They know what they are talking about and are patient, helpful, and creative thinkers. They are also well stocked with everything from kitchen items to hardware to just about anything you’d need to care for your property. We are very lucky to have such a resource in Chico. Wholeheartedly recommend.

I have always loved this store and go there frequently but I am very disappointed to hear they are part of Chico firsts war on the homeless. The local boycott of stores that support Chico first puts me in the dilemma of going to a store I love and supporting a boycott I think is justified.

The BEST place to go for your hardware needs. This place has only gotten better over time and is the most traditional hardware store I know in northern CA. It's as comforting as mom's meatloaf and apple pie.

Thanks for helping keep our community safe.Oh and for anyone who feels their rights are being infringed upon... you're welcome to take your recklessness, selfless and general douchbagery elsewhere. Do these types also question the pilot when he puts the fasten seatbelts sign on and asks us to return to our seats to ensure our safety during upcoming turbulence?
