Our companion Milo was in alot of pain and we were really not sure of a place to use for this.Milo of over 16 yrs had to be put to sleep. Not only did they help us. Mr. Nelson seems really to care for our companion and was a little choked up to.We have taken our other2 dogs there and been really treated decent. Our companions tooMuch as it was a hard time to let Milo go. They made him comfortable and truly gave us piece of mind that we were doing the proper care for our old dog.Thank you Dr. Nelson for your care and your kindness in our time of need. Hard as it was. You made it easier for us knowing he is no longer suffering.We have many more animals for you to care for and will be using you for all there care. Thank you for your service!!!

This clinic is great, kerrington is an amazing vet tech! Even though she’s always very busy, she gives great service and advice. I’ve always loved this clinic but in the past the receptionist was rude. Teresa at the front desk now is the best receptionist they have had! I definitely recommend this clinic!!

I asked around in Susanville and was told that the best veterinarian is in Chester... I heard it from several independent sources so I called and made an appointment. I've had dogs in the 1990s in Los Angeles, and I've been to some pretty good vets but they weren't in the same caring, patient, and professional class as the staff at Nelson Veterinary Services. They really cared about my puppy having a good experience with going to The Vet. My dogs in LA could be shocked into obedience with the threat 'You're going to the vet' and I never realized that a vet visit could be anything but traumatizing for a pet until I experienced veterinary medicine as practiced by this group of kind people. Thank you for that.

Out of the 10 years I have taken my dog to the vet, this is by far the best one he has ever been to! Prices were great, Dr. Bob was really good with my dog. He took his time and explained things to me that other vets would avoid answering. Office was clean, staff was friendly too. Would highly recommend!

Always the best care! I like Dr. Bob's honest approach. Sometimes it's not what you wanted to hear, but you can always trust him to tell you like it is, and what can or cannot be done. He also is proactive in that if he sees something that needs to change to avoid your fur baby future problems.... like your dog is getting to fat....he'll be on the dog's side and tell you to knock off the snacks, you're not doing your fur baby a favor. He makes me feel like he truly cares about my doggers!

Our cat lucky was dying of an undetermined malady. Dr did his best to help him. Now after dixie fire my second lucky was diagnosed with cancer in gardnerville nv. I'm going to bring him to Nelson for a 2nd opinion.

Everyone here is fantastic! Dr.Bob cares about your pet as much as you do. My dog had an emergency situation and they took her in almost immediately. They are caring and sympathetic, I dont want to take my pets anywhere else.

We had to take our cat in to be put down. Obviously we were sad and upset. Dr Bob did not care at all about this. He insisted on us just putting our cat on the table and then he was going to shave her and put her down. We told him that we wanted to hold her and he said well we're not doing it that way. Just leave. She really needed to be put down so we had to do it his way. Very sadly, she did not pass right away. It was a very bad experience and now that we have lost our dear Dr Roberta at Chester Veterinary Clinic, we will be going out of town for our vet care.

This Veterinary Hospital is FANTASTIC!. Dr.Nelson is caring and compassionate. His knowledge reguarding animals amazes me.Everyone of his staff are wonderful. Sandy at the front desk. She doesnt mess about. She is professional and kind.Kensington works side by side with Dr.Nelson. We live in Sonoma with a home in Hamilton Branch and Dr. Bob was highly recommended to us by a gentleman (and his dog Raspus )who previously lived in Chester and now reside in Sonoma.Jazzy has been treated a few timesby Dr. Bob and we were extremely pleased with the care she received....Would like to take him back to Sonoma but I’m certain he would truly be missed.. not to mention, he probably wouldn’t leave Chester... ;)The staff there have been very accommodating as well...

We went to Dr. Bob to get our cat's stitches removed. He took us in as a walk-in 30 minutes after we called and didn't even charge us. Great guy.

I had a sick kitten, who hadn't been seen here previously. I called at 8am, and was given a same day appt. The office is clean and free of odor. After filingout the paperwork, we were seen immediately, no waiting. Staff was really friendly and personable The MD was kind and professional. I highly recommend this veterinarian.
