The food was great. The rock crab salad was fresh, sweet, even have micro greens!!Onion rings was delicious and crispy. Chowder was great with the bread bowl but I could have gone without the bread bowl. Too fullRaw oyster is fresh and taste like the ocean. $15 is good price.My first time here but won't be the last.

We were visiting antique shops and came to Cayucos to visit Remember When. A quick look at Google and I saw all the rave reviews for Duckies so we walked over to check it out. We ordered the Manhattan chowder, fish and chips, shrimp and chips and garlic fries. The service was incredibly fast. Despite the reviews it was not the best chowder. It wasn't bad, but had few clams and lacked flavor, except salt. The fish and shrimp were good, but a bit salty. The garlic fries were excellent. They should offer to upgrade the chips to garlic fries. The location was good, right next to the pier.

Cozy, seaside view with plenty of seating and classic seafood options. Prices are what you would expect, nothing too pricey. We went with fish and chips and a bowl of clam chowder. The fish was fresh and the portions are big. I would recommend this place if you are looking for a place to relax and eat a meal by the beach. Seating is mostly inside but the windows are wide open so perhaps there is also seating on the sidewalk.

They are so good)The asado tacos were fattier than they should be. Maybe skip these.The fish tacos could be better. The fish was shredded and I wish it was bigger pieces. It would be better but they are large! Flavor was good tho.The clam chowder is good and worth getting. It's a large size.The fries were so good. I'd go back and get them again. Worth it.The water was even good. Food was served pretty fast too.

Duckies!!! You CANNOT drive through or better yet stay in Cayucos and not have chowder at Duckies! It’s tradition, we drove through this town probably 100 times and never stopped. The pier finally got to us and we parked by Duckies, one thing led to another and we fell in love with both chowders, the best ever honestly for me. The place is right at the end of the pier, extremely easy access, and totally nice, a little place with counters and pop out windows if it’s gorgeous out. The service by the local kids that seem to run the place is consistently excellent! Duckies carries on in every way the unique vibe that Cayucos has. So stop and get some chowder and walk on that pier! Don’t forget the hot sauce!!!

I've been going to Duckies for years!! After covid, most eateries were struggling. So when I visited I was disappointed in Duckies. This year.....Duckies is amazing!!! I had the best red chowder (Manhattan) I've ever had in my life 😁 and possibly the only place to get it on the West Coast. This place is a "Must go!" spot and destination!

I have to say I was disappointed with the lack of flavor. The fish tacos were bland. I had to add malt vinegar to give it some flavor and the fish was dry. The fish and chips wasn’t exciting either. The sourdough bread bowl was whatever. The chowder in the bread bowl was kinda watery and it requires a lot of Tabasco for flavor. I would not recommend or go back. They do have outdoor seating which is great if you have a dog with you. Right next to the beach, so great location.

We ate here 3x on our 4-day trip. What brought us back? Healthy menu items overall, high quality food in casual atmosphere next to Cayucos pier. My friend said best chowder & I loved the crab melt! Efficient & friendly service. After eating a nice walk on the pier ended a lovely evening.(Same owner as Dorn's restaurant in MorroBay, which is a white tablecloth fine dining experience always has excellent food & service too.)

Too crowded, I'm not a big fan of ordering food in the counter and going hunting for a place to seat. I ordered a blackened fish sandwich and I got a piece of tilapia in the sandwich. That was very disappointing, because we were next to the ocean, I was expecting piece of red snapper or rock cod not tilapia from the store around the corner.Clam shower was ok, fish and chips also ok.Been wanting to try this place for a while, I can check it off now.

Decor all wood bench table booths, raised No Cushions, table & chairs basic, window bar, standing or individual dinning, updated menu looks good, overall same look for 15+ yrs !!! Food is done right, nice selection of beers (5) on tap, I believe. Sandwiches 🔥 & burgers. Outdoor seating. Great staff. Excellent choice! My wife and I stopped here for lunch after reading some reviews and seeing some photos! While we’re both not big clam chowder people, you’ve got to try it when you go to a place that is known for it! They didn’t disappoint! We got two cups “Nolan Style” which come with bacon and croutons for an addition $1.50/cup. It was worth it for the added flavor! The soup was savory and had the clams were quality. Didn’t have a fishy taste at all like some clam chowders do. We also shared a plate of fish and chips! They came with a couple lemon slices and some tartar sauce. The fries were very good. The fish was excellent quality and they weren’t heavily battered! We also both had a Barrelhouse beer. Definitely will be back next time we’re in town! Cheers, Duckies! My parents raved about this place so after a beach clean up, I decided to treat my kids to a job well done.The food was amazing. Daughter had the shrimp and chips and her little squeal of joy when she found the last one under her fries told me how much she loved it. Son had the Duckie's hamburger. He didn't put it down until it was gone. I had the fish and chips. Best restaurant fish and chips I've had in a long time. BOTH the fish and batter were flavorful. So many times I've gone to places and only tasted batter. Fries were good as well.The service was friendly and quick. A rarity now a days. The atmosphere was clean and bright. We will be coming here again

Right off the pier, this place is amazing. I had a bowl of the white clay chowder. This was amazing with a hearty portion of meat in it. My friend got it Nolan style (croutons & bacon), but it was unnecessary. The Chowder speaks for itself.Also some fish and chips. This is a top 5 best fish and chips for me! Great crispy breading with a hearty, perfectly cooked filet inside. Tarter sauce....maybe the best. It had well portioned amount of fresh fill in it that created a freshness in the dish.Finally, the fish tacos. This was very artisinal. The fish was cooked perfectly. It came with a hearty portion of vegetables and salsa. I would 100% have them again.

I came here with a party of 12 (6 adults, 6 kids, and a service dog). The staff was incredible. Dining area is light and airy. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. Portions are definitely American size hahaha! Love it. I think the fish tacos need more tang flavor.Kid-friendliness: Great kid options for food. Stroller fits comfortably in the aisle.

We have been coming here for years and love it! Great chowder, the calamari sandwich is super yummy and the fish and chips is delicious. We like to go right when it opens to avoid the crowds. The kids menu offers non-seafood options as well!

Duckies is a great go to place when in Cayucos. Service has always been good. Prices are not bad on most menu items. There has only been a few menu items that haven't been worth the price but it has always been delicious. Food is very consistently good. This last time I went, I decided to go with a salad 🥗 instead of fried seafood. Boy, that was a great idea. The Louie salad was amazing. I swear it had a pound (or more) of crab 🦀 on it. It was a very big salad 🥗. I will definitely be getting that dish again. This dish is so worth the price.. I think it was $11 maybe $12. I've had disappointing salad for that much and this one is not it.Other great menu items - any of the fried seafood platters, clam chowder (red and white), fish and chips, and the fish sandwiches.

10/05/2021 I looked at the reviews of where to get some good chowder. So I came here because of the good reviews. The New England clam chowder was not that great. It really didn't have much flavor to it. I even added some Zatarain's seasoning to it and it still didn't improve the flavor! lol I ordered my chowder separate from the bread bowl. There was a larger portion given because of separating it. The clam chowder with the bread bowl was $11. The staff behind the counter were attentive. And the restaurant and seating area were very clean. The outdoors seating is picnic tables.

Four generations of my family have gone to Duckies and always had the best experiences. The clam chowder of course is a staple. We used to LOVE the tubs and tentacles calamari, though it has been off the menu for a few years now, but when they did have it, it was the best on the central coast. Take out window is perfect if you have dogs with you, the food is always fresh. I will always recommend Duckies.Parking: Parking can be tricky if the beach is packed but it's within walking distance to two large parking lots.

This place has fresh fish and chips! If you’re in the area and want some great food, stop in here for a bite! They also have their own hot sauce and it’s off the chain tasty. $16 bucks for fish n chips and a cold beer ain’t bad in bidens economy.
