Castroville has been so reliable over the 20 years we have been using them. We call them for issues on both our rental and primary home. I appreciate their prompt response and great communication. They are trustworthy and We have much confidence in them. Our latest project was quite complex as it involved property that was not ours but the pipe leaking was our responsibility. They sorted all the permits and excavators and got the job done. The repair reduced our water bill by about $200 a month

I read all the great reviews for Castroville Plumbing so called them up when we had a clogged pipe.  Setting up the appointment was easy and they had someone available to come out same day which was fantastic.  We were told $60 trip charge and when problem was assessed, the trip charge would be credited to any work we had done.  Plumber arrived in scheduled window and was very nice and seemed very competent.  So far all is going great!The problem came when we were quoted over $900 for the job which was to remove a toilet and snake a drain.   My husband was shocked as it was only an hour or two or work so that price seemed outrageous, but we were told they quote by the job and that is the cost. So we paid the nice technician his $60 and said no thanks.   We hired a different plumber that charged by the hour (not the job) and our cost for the work to fix the problem (remove toilet and  snake drain) which took a bit over an hour was less than $200!Maybe if you have a big job or money is not a concern, then these guys seemed to be great.  However, their pricing was ridiculous for what we needed done.  Very disappointed in the way they priced our small job.. my husband said he would snake it himself for $900.Five stars for their customer service and personnel but minus three stars for their pricing.

Initially thought we were going to need to replace a toilet at my parents rental, but Lewis called me and said he found a plastic toy in the toilet that was causing the stoppage. He saved my parents that expensive cost which was just awesome especially since days earlier they paid to clear a tub stoppage at the same rental....not cheap to do, but everything is more expensive these days. His honesty and great work saved my parents that expensive cost which is so appreciated since this rental is my parents retirement income they live off of. Thank you Lewis, we truly appreciate you! Also, thanks to Kevin and everyone I have spoken to these last couple of days. Every single person has been truly wonderful and their response time was great!

I sent a email to Castroville Plumbing near midnight and Kevin responded quickly. The next morning our Tech Alonso from Castroville Plumbing showed up on time and got right to the problem. Had our backup fixed quickly and left everything super clean. He was also very knowledgeable about the plumbing in our home with only taking a quick glance in the crawl space. Alonso explained the problems and gave solutions that made perfect sense. Highly recommend Castroville Plumbing and I'll know who to call for our next repair. Thanks!

A couple of days ago, our toilet got plugged so my father decided to call for plumbing services. This business came up via Google, as it was the first to pop up in the prunedale area. Unfortunately, we should have looked at the reviews ahead of time to save ourselves the tremendous cost and inconvenience.When the technician arrived, he told my mom that he needed to go through the roof vent to be able to unplug as there was no sewage vents around the house that he was able to see, and it would be a two-man job.After about an estimated 20 minutes, they were "done." The cost was almost at $1,200!!! Mind you, after i did some research and was quoted from $375 to $400 for the same job from other plumbing services.I am absolutely appalled at the fact that only a 20 minute job cost me $1,200. That seems ridiculously overpriced and unbelievable for the small job that was done. It seemed with that price, it was going to be a lot more of a complex job. Instead it was something that was taken care of in about 20 minutes. It took the technician longer to get on the roof than to finish the job. Mind you, it is a one story flat roof house. We are hoping with this review, we can save someone else their money.BEWARE!!!! Please do your research and go elsewhere.There will be another plumbing service who will be able to do the job at a reasonable price.My dad called and spoke to the manager and expressed his concerns with his outrageous pricing, in which he basically said that was the price and it was what it was.DO NOT COME HERE! They will take advantage of you.Absolutely ridiculous how they are somehow still in business. We should have definitely looked at the reviews prior. If i could leave zero stars, i would. Scammers!!!!!!!!!!Taking advantage of people's hard working money. We were just desperate to get the plumbing fixed asap as we do take care of my elderly grandma. Shame on you.

Poor communication. Plumber went on site to fix 4 things. A tub stopper, shower diverter valve, bathroom sink stopper and calking around the kitchen sink. The only job that got completed was calking the kitchen sink. Call several times. Different people answer the phone every time so there’s no continuity. I would love to get a status on the three remaining items that need to be fixed.

We were told $60 eval fee for technician to come out and provide estimate. Nice guy- I told him what we needed and he quoted upwards of $500 for a simple snaking down a drain cleanout. I thanked him for coming, paid the $60 and called the guy that quoted $200... High priced!

Castroville plumbing showed up on time, they checked my shower leak by opening a whole in my ceiling , they informed me that the show need to be replaced. I kept calling Castroville for a week after to follow up and every time I call , Kevin answer and informed me that they will submit the estimate to the insurance company, I kept calling the home warranty and they said we did not receive anything from Castroville. Finally I put them together in a conference call to see where is the missing ring!! after that I did not hear anything form Castroville until today, it been the most worst experanice with a plumbing company to leave me without shower(they disconnect my shower) and they did not even cleaned after work. also I had a stoppage in the other bathroom, they claim that they did it( I was in a meeting) and once they left my kids said the tub still blocked and need to be fixed. very bad experience and I don't recommend this company to anyone.
