The Castro Valley store and the San Leandro store always have what i need. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. They all know my dogs. I wish we had a store like this in Oklahoma where i moved. I still order from them. One of my friends picks up my order and then mails it to me.

Super inconsistent carrying of Taste of the Wild with ancient grains pacific stream flavor.I always call. We like the buy 3 get 1 free. Today, some idiot said they don’t carry it. I’ve been buying it from your store. I don’t think they wanted to check for me.Hire better employees please. There are a few good ones who are willing to help you out.Most of the time you get really lazy unhelpful associates. Makes me very frustrated and take my money elsewhere.

Great service. The workers are so patient and understanding. I came in with a very unruly dog (a sweet but undisciplined stray I needed short term supplies for) and the girls rolled with all the punches and showed me things that would prevent excessive pulling on the leash, high quality foods, probiotics to help the dog transition to the new food, and other helpful things. It made my somewhat stressful situation much more manageable. I'm very grateful for their help!

They finally fixed the dog baths here. Took th>6mos at a bunch of locations, but you probably didn't know all the shampoos weren't working and they didn't tell customers. 😒

This was my first time going to that location. From the moment I step in, someone smile at me and says welcome. Then, as I was looking for an Urine destroyer, a very nice gentleman helped me to find it.Store is so well organized and clean a that I wanted to stay just a little bit more and purchase everything.

Super friendly and helpful employees. They are always helpful with all my questions and worries with my dog. They helped me choose food adequate for her since she kept having a weird odor. They let me know she might be allergic to wheat and apparently she was. She is no longer stinky and stopped having stomach aches. They have helped me in many other things like finding training for my doggie and treats. Thank you!!

The staff at the Castro Valley business are not trained to be polite to the customers. I’m having issues with the staff and returning dog food that my dogs do not like they have always returned dog food that dogs do not like, but the Castro Valley staff are very difficult. I have taken my business to other Pet Xpress businesses in Alameda San Leandro. All of those businesses are excellent. Castro Valley needs to get new training just like the dogs get new training because they are rude to their customers that have been going there for years and years!! I don’t have problems with any other pet express businesses only Castro Valley.

I had to revise my review for this location. It puts all other pet stores to shame. This is my go to place for my pets their 3 Get one free offer is great. In addition, the staff is very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. Harley was one of my staff favorites and when available always took time to help customers.

The store was fairly small and the stock limited. The bird food section was almost empty and expensive. I was disappointed and will go back to PetSmart. The clerk was very nice and apologized when I asked about two other pet products and they didn't know what I was talking about. I know it's a Pet Food Store but at my house the bird, Cooper, IS a pet. Didn't have or know what bird grit was! If you're looking for dog and cat food this is probably a good place to shop!

This is my regular pet store and it's great to bring my dog into the store so that he could choose some treats. The staff is very eager to help you if you need any questions answered or need to find something.Things are pretty well stocked as well. And if you bring your pet in, everybody is excited to see your pet. There is also the enclosed dog park right outside which is a perfect place for a little tinkle and play.

This store is so clean and everyone who works here is super friendly. The selection of cat food is immaculate, I felt a bit more of a neighborhood and welcoming vibe coming here as opposed to other larger chain pet stores. Will definitely come back to spoil my cats now and then, thanks!

Great store, great employees. I've worked with the cat rescue that has adoption days there so have spent some time just being able to observe.As with most PFE, they have a large selection of high end pet food, treats and toys, mostly geared towards cats and dogs. They have a really nice selection of fresh and frozen cat and dog foods, which is nice considering we have a hybrid cat which had trouble digesting most cat foods and still has issues with grains and legumes. It also offers a nice treat for our dog and other cat.Because they do offer a more high end selection, they tend to be a bit pricey, so while we don't buy our food there all the time, we go there in a pinch because we know they carry the food we feed our pets, or for the said treats. We also have used them to pick up kml when we have an orphaned litter (we have a feral cat colony behind our house).Again - great store, great people, can't say enough about them. Been shopping there for nearly 13 years now.

I like going to this particular store. Everyone is so friendly, welcoming and helpful. My dog is a finicky eater. I thoroughly received help and recommendations by the associate. She also let my dog try the food and take it home. And if she didn't eat it, bring it back and try something else.They sell Just Food For Dogs which us a big plus for me.

Super awesome staff!The only thing is they only seem to carry more expensive brands of everything. For instance, they don't carry friskies cat food or inexpensive litter like arm & hammer, etc. Their prices aren't bad for more upscale brands. Their employees are always helpful and knowledgeable. I'd go there so much more if they sold the food my animals eat :(

The store is nice. It's very large and clean. There is onsite grooming and training. There is a very large variety of pet products. The reason I gave them 4 out of 5 is because I never find anyone providing assistance in the aisle. The cashiers up front are usually busy so it is not convenient to disturb them with questions.

Been going here for years now. The employees seem to genuinely care about animals and are very knowledgeable. They will take the time to help you find what you need and give you suggestions. I will not shop anywhere else but here now. All their products are high quality and healthy. Plus buy 3 of anything and you get the 4th free. Would highly recommend!
