This must be the best grocery store florist in the county! Floral, organics, fresh meats, seafood, great bakery, and a fabulous selection of produce. But wait, STOP EVERYTHING! I've never been a "couponer" or done much beyond buying a different cut of steak, as in a Ribeye instead of a Porterhouse, if one was significantly on sale versus the other. But lately, with mortgage interest rates hitting well over 7.5%, I've been doing a series with my would-be home buyers involving how to save for a down payment, home affordability, yada yada.So, I bought into utilizing the store specific apps and taking about 7-10 minutes to pre-game my shopping trip. Items that are on sale are "extra" on sale if you use the store's app. As evidenced by the pictures I attached, during this shopping trip, my total went from $151.91 to $67.81, a whopping $84.10 or 55.4% discount. That's ridiculous savings! It took me a few times to get good at navigating the app but I found the store staff to be helpful also.

They have reorganized the whole place and it's so much better now. They took around half of the items off the shelves to cut down on shop- lifting. Smart, very smart. The employees are always helpful and friendly. My family has been shopping at this Safeway for about 50 years. We love it!

Well stocked on a Wednesday 2 pm which is great since Wednesday is their ad special day. Manager specials should be 50% off and not 30% though. $10 a pound for short ribs is not a special and neither is $4.99 pork chops. Be sure to use app for additional savings.

A grocery store that charges premium prices for regular products. But I guess you just have to love the savings you get. Wait, opps! That's not right...They drop the price down to the prices you would pay at any other grocery store so your savings are basically limited to them selling the product to you without the safeway mark up....sorry I don't usually get so worked up over pricing but I've been thinking about it why do we go to Safeway? Just because it's 2 minutes away rather than 5 minutes to another store? I used to love going to Safeway, namely this store, but now they even want to take the little "savings" you do get with no savings at all. The Safeway app really shows how stingy Safeway has been. Last year I was able to get ice cream as many times as I wanted to while receiving their "saving" prices but now the savings are often limited to 1 item at "saving" prices and all ice creams(of that brand) after that get the super special premium Safeway price! All thanks to the awesome app. The app is a whole other story, but it's not fair to blame the store for the app functions. Come on, Safeway, don't we spend enough that you have to limit the "savings" now? I really think I'm going to start driving the extra 3 minutes and get unlimited deals at the other grocery store. I also talk a lot, so hopefully, I don't drag too many people down with me.

I’m not sure if this Safeway cares enough to read this or do anything about it, but their service is horrible. It used to be somewhat decent with great customer service staff, but it’s just horrible now. They are not helpful, not friendly, and not courteous. Taking my shopping elsewhere

Well this used to be one of my favorite Safeways to shop at but currently the Dewey Drive location is my favorite. I hate to single out anyone, so I will not use the employee's name... But the male manager that closes the store at night a couple times a week is and has always been very unhelpful, condescending, arrogant, dismissive, and rather self-important to put it mildly. And even though his attitude and the way he converses and addresses some customers has been an ongoing problem.. specifically a couple of months ago I was really very embarrassed whilst in line with almost an entire grocery cart of groceries when I was informed that they could not manually enter my CA EBT card number into their system for payment... not only my EBT card but apparently any card ever "period!" I can still hear him now saying, "we do not accept nor does our system allow us to manually enter any type of card ever! So no card, no payment!" Which is a flat out lie. And I tried to explain that I was not completely out of line for asking such a thing because I had previously asked the checkout clerk at the Safeway location on Dewey if this type of transaction was even possible since I was still waiting on a replacement EBT card to arrive via USPS but I needed groceries now to feed my family and without hesitation and with express permission from the manager at the Dewey location I was able to pay for my groceries without actually having my EBT card present, but instead having a photograph of my EBT card that had been stolen with my name on it alongside my CA driver's license which also has my name on it--- but before I could even explain myself I was cut off rather curtly. And again I was informed very loudly and rudely that this was not possible and sorry I would have to go somewhere else...and AGAIN I stress that even though I have completed over a dozen transactions in the same manner without a second question and most importantly without being judged or looked down upon at the Dewey location, I was being turned away and now every customer in line was now looking directly at me and my almost full cart of groceries that I had to leave behind since I did not have the cash to pay for any of it. Needless to say I left the store in tears and rushed out to my truck as quickly as I could because I was so so mortified and embarrassed! I just feel that the situation could have been handled with a little bit more discretion and a little bit more compassion. And I do understand that there are different store policies from location to location but I do know that it was not necessary to purposely draw attention to me and my inability to pay for any of my groceries whilst also speaking to me as if I was a child and almost laughing at my preposterous query. As if to say, "Oh you silly little girl, you. You didn't know the store policies at this particular Carmichael Safeway location?"And all the while I really did need to feed my family and as far as I'm concerned there's nothing worse than leaving the grocery store empty-handed after spending almost an hour filling up my cart!And yes I've taken into consideration that this type of incident would never even occur if I was, in fact, a responsible EBT card holder and had obtained my replacement before attempting to purchase groceries... But in my defense, and how ironic it is...but it was in this very parking lot at the Safeway in Carmichael, that after spending only 10 minutes inside and parking only two spaces away from the front entrance, that my driver side window to my truck was smashed in and my purse, which was so carefully stashed underneath my seat, was stolen which did in fact have all of my bank cards, credit cards, my CA driver's license and last but not least.... my CA EBT card!So whether it be the terrible management of this establishment or the apparent crime in the immediate area I seem to keep having some sort of issue with the Carmichael Safeway. And it's very disappointing because this location is within such a short proximity to my home.

I understand that the public is in a hysteria right now. But going to Safeway, shopping for my weekly meals and getting home to find several of the items I purchased are not in my bags in very upsetting. I paid for eggs, chocolate covered raisins and several items and they were not bagged and put in my cart. Safeway this is unacceptable. Maybe I'll just start shopping in other stores not owned by your company.

Horrible customer service after going to several different stores to find press on nails this store was the closes near me to have acrylic nails. After waiting for customer service to arrive no one came , but they came to help other people I hate to even say race becuase as a black women and minorities we go through alot of mess and now they choose who they want to help. Last but not least when I walked to the door the wheels locked I didn't have anything in my basket the doors frightened my son and I Noone came to help. I wont return horrible

This was okay for a Safeway. The store was fairly well organized and clean. The only issue I have with Safeway is the price. The price doesn't really seem worth the value you get. You can get cheaper groceries at stores such as WinCo and if you're looking for higher-end items Safeway is not the place to be. I would go to nugget or whole foods for that. Safeway is basically an overpriced WinCo.

They are more expensive then the regular store we shop in but sometimes they have stuff that other stores don't have so I appreciate that and today they have us a great deal really appreciate that in these hard times parking was also convenient and well lit

This is an exceptional store. Both the service and selection is magnificent. Truly good people looking out for the little guys and less fortunate. I greatly appreciate their contribution to the neighborhood. Hope they stick around for years to come.

Stopped by for few picnic type items and tried their Signature Cafe Classic Potato Salad and without question this is the best tasting pre-made store brand potato salad I have ever tasted....excellent! Beautiful, well stocked and maintained store.

I normally only come here for some chicken or laundry soap, rarely anything else. Today I stopped in to attempt to get a money order. No one came to the counter after waiting for 10 minutes. They were calling for someone but no one ever came. I walked out. The poorest customer service I’ve ever seen in any Safeway location.

Been coming here for years. My last straw was when I used the CoinStar, I had about $160 worth of quarters I saved up. The white lady at register number 1 who wears glasses is a fake, bias, racist hater. The coinstar machine is right by her register btw. So, after I was done dumping my coins and received my ticket, I waited patiently in her line has she checked out a white couple. She made customer service conversation with them, took about 5 whole mins to check them out. Once it's my turn, I hand her my ticket. She says NOTHING to me. She scans the tickets, says she has to call a manager to clear the transaction. Not even a whole one minute after calling for a manager, she looks at the white man behind me waiting and says LOUDLY, "SORRY FOR THE WAIT, IT'S A COINSTAR ISSUE." Like??? She didn't tell me sorry for waiting a whole 5 minutes while she checked out the white couple and made fake conversation. She made me feel as it was an inconvenience to her because of the coinstar transaction. The white guy behind me wasn't even bothered, nor was he acting impatient. She was just being a racist hater! Also, another employee there who is an older white man seems to think it's classy to cough without covering his mouth whenever I walk by! EVERY SINGLE TIME!! I hate this location! Don't come here if you're black/brown.

My wife and I went to order a sandwich and they bairley had any deli cheese or bread. When we went to pay they did not know how to give us the savings for the chips and drink. So they had us walk back to the deli to ring it up. He said that he couldn't do nothing and that I would have to go back to the front. At this point I was very frustrated, thoughI remained calm. Im disabled with a cain and I was being told to walk all around the store. Once i got back to the front they called the manager Tracy who was very rude and unprofessional. The cashier explained to her what was happening as well as my wife and she rolled her eyes and walked off. Tracy didn't say if she was comming back or nothing, which was very unprofessional! Luckily Dylan then came once Teri called him! That's the only reason I'm giving this 2 stars. Dylan was extremely polite and professional. He apologized for the wait and was very attentive. Thank you Dylan!

The Store is Always Clean, sometimes it’s hard to find a person in the department of the store to help with Finding Products. My daughter and I Love going to the Starbucks Inside the Store to get our Favorite Starbucks Drinks and Treats! Products I purchase are usually IN-STOCK!! A few months ago I had a Problem with finding the EGGS I wanted, but there are a VARIETY of EGGS now IN-STOCK Now, which was Wonderful To See! I had to travel to Further Locations to buy Eggs for awhile, and that was More Expensive to get there and Inconvenient. I ended up spending money in a Different Area of Town as a result. Last week a man in a Wheelchair asked me and my daughter to help him reach a product that was hard for him to get at This Location Store. We helped him. He was happy and we were happy to help him. If you need assistance, just try to ask a CASHIER for Help if you Can’t find a Staff Member in that department and they can talk on the Intercom to try to get a Staff member to go to the Section or area you need help in, or help to find a product, etc. The Cashiers I’ve met there are very nice, knowledgeable, and helpful. This Safeway Location is One of my Favorite Locations to shop at!

Was able to pick my Safeway for you rewards and go in and grab what I needed and get out without to long of a wait it could have been faster if self checkout took cash there should be one that takes cash us cash spending people would like the opportunity to make our trip to the store a little faster and not have to stand in a line with people that have full carts when we only have one item to purchase

Staff is very kind and helpful but maybe have someone check the self checkout system it kept denying my car saying can except transaction of zero but I called my card and have plenty of money on it and they don't take cash so had to jump back an wait in line . I literally called my card to check an I HAVE MONEY ON MY CARD ? SO WHY IS IT NOT TAKING MY TRANSACTION

There's just something about the atmosphere at Safeway. I usually find that my mood has improved by the time I'm queueing for checkout. So much so that I'll strike up small talk with my fellow shoppers and am looking forward to interacting with the cashier. Because the cashiers will usually pass on some little nugget of information that will turn my groin into a full on smile as I'm exiting the store.

Store is always clean but the customer service is always bad. Can't stand the girl that works the self check out, she is rude, has zero customer service, and honestly shouldn't even have the job she has, Safeway needs to lock her away from any and all customer interaction.
