This one star is specifically for the manager on duty at this branch on 3/5/204 at 12:30 pm. This store double charged me for a purchase at the pharmacy. While the pharmacist tried to help me figure it out, she needed to transfer to the manager. After several minutes on hold, the manager got on and told me he could not look up these charges and I needed to call a 1-800 number for CVS to have them look up the charges at this particular retail outlet. When I asked for an explanation of this, he asked me who exactly by name that I spoke with at the pharmacy, and when I went in. I couldn't answer this because I didn't make this purchase so I wouldn't be able to give him these details.I would give two stars though for the fact that one of my prescriptions has been on hold for 5 days with no call or text from CVS Pharmacy. They have now changed the prescription to one that is actually available only after I called them. And, this new prescription is far more expensive. So yeah.

I like this CVS venue here - neatly organized, clean and employee staff are helpful and polite. A big shout out to Kenny who helped me locate items that were not obvious and for excellent customer service.

Not sure why this place has so many bad reviews. I had an urgent request that I called about and Sal grabbed the item and had it at the front waiting for me. He was super personable, very kind, and helpful to everyone that was in the store when I was checking out. I would hire him as an employee for anything customer facing - he was great!

This branch’s pharmacy staff not very helpful in providing solutions or proactive communication. As long as you don’t have any problems or pharmacy needs …the staff is nice and the store has almost anything you need.

Every time I get my prescription filled here they fill it with the wrong medication and then tell me it’s basically the same thing as my prescription when it is 100% not (and a 5 second google search would tell you it’s not). They don’t fill prescriptions on time ever. All but two of the people I have spoken with in the pharmacy department are super rude. This time they actually deleted my prescription and they couldn’t tell me why or how they deleted it, but they put it on me to call my doctor and get it fixed.Update: 8 months later and they still fill my prescription wrong every time.

This location cannot be trusted. On 9/7/22, this CVS location admitted to me they weren’t answering their phones because they’re short staffed. So if they ever don't answer you, drive down and tell them they wasted your time.On that day, I waited on hold for 40 minutes before arriving to wait almost two hours for a prescription. When I arrived, I heard the robotic voice announcing, “7 calls waiting.” When I told the representative it’s wrong not to answer the phones, her response was “Well, would you rather I help you or answer those calls.” I said, “Both.” Then she accused me of getting mad at her so I just moved on.Also, they had at least 6 people moving about in the back, so I can’t see how it’s possible that no one could answer a call and say “please come to the location.” Or other options, like disconnecting their phones, turning the phones to voicemail, or routing calls to another location. It’s pathetic how justified they were and how little they cared about those callers.I’m fine and healthy but what about some older, sick person with IBS who can’t come down to the store unless their refill is ready? This location doesn’t respect people’s time and it is in need of new management. Every other CVS pharmacy I’ve been to has been just fine. This location cannot be trusted.UPDATE: Another patron drove down to get an preventative inhaler for her son. She said she waited on hold, too. CVS Pharmacy, deals with life and death medicines - doesn't answer their phones. Unacceptable. Be loud and they'll change.

A hispanic 5 foot 5 man with tattoos on his right forearm provider terrible customer service. My mom was in this CVS location for 25 minutes looking for a specific item. The employee and my mom made eye contact multiple time, he didn't approach her or ask if she needed help finding an item. After the 25 minutes my mom approached him and he was very rude. She politely asked is he could help her look, he directed her to the isle it would be located and said if it isn't there then they dont have it. My mom asked if he could call a different CVS location to see if they had it in stock, he ask my mom if SHE has the other sores PHONE NUMBER. WUT? Good thing my mom always has a very positive attitude and wasn't faced by his lack of motivation to help her.

The pharmacy is terrible. I've been going to this location for years. Same ol' excuse that they don't have enough staff which I've been hearing for years and years. Today I made a flu shot appt online. I go to pharmacy and there is another customer ahead of me waiting a very long time. The pharmacists decide to do a training for a new person right then and there taking so long. Don't even acknowledge that there is a person waiting for their vaccine. There are no other customers in line nor waiting and about 7 different pharmacists working. I go up to the front and the pharmacist asks me if I need something and I mention I have a flu shot appt and I need to get back to work so I'd appreciate it if someone could help me. Finally they look up my appt and go oh well you have Kaiser so you cannot get your flu shot here. I said well I got my free covid vaccine here. The guy says yes only the covid vaccine but not the flu shot. WTH! Then put that info on the website for customers to see. Don't hang up signs everywhere saying get your free flu shot. This location needs to get their act together. I'm going to the Bressi Ranch CVS for all my needs now on a go forward.

My orders are constantly incorrect in some way. Almost every single time. I am actually surprised when I am able to pick up everything that was prescribed. Also, some of my regular prescriptions seem to simply “fall off” my pharmacy list of meds.

Used CVS on Rancho Sante Fe in Carlsbad, CA. Called no less that 16 times on May 9th and was disconnected using multiple phones. Also, each hold time differed in length before the disconnect. Finally, I used the doctor’s office pathway and someone answered. They sounded very busy and promised to call when my prescription was ready. On May 11th I called 3 times and even used the doctor’s office route to no success. So, I drove to the pharmacy to see if my prescriptions were ready. I waited in line and when it was my turn the employee working the cashier couldn’t look me up and said there was nothing there for me and directed me to the consultation window if I wanted to have them start getting a prescription ready. The lady there ignored me for 5 minutes meanwhile the phone kept ringing and I watched her hang up on people without ever speaking to them. She found my two ready to go prescriptions and told me to get in the back of the line so the man who directed me to her could check me out. There were three registers and only one was being used I might add. The line now had 5 new customers, whom were nice enough to let me pass because the heard what the lady had said. Upon checking out the cashier seemed surprised I had prescriptions ready that he missed. He verified my birthday on the prescription package as though it were different than what I told him. I had to tell him three times that it was my birthday, the very same birthday I gave him earlier.I’d give a 0 star rating if I could.

I felt a little racism today picking up the prescription for my son. Gave them health card to update the information in system while my prescription was ready to be picked up. I waited 20 minutes for that. The white lady behind me did the same she wanted her new information in the system as well. They asked both of us to wait and called her before me. Then never called me and made me wait for another 20 minutes on top of 20 minutes before. Meanwhile they gave prescription to all the other customers. I had to get in line and go to the window and ask for my prescription and card again which was ready by the way. On inquiry, they said they called my name which they never did. I was there waiting by the seats the whole time. So disappointed with the cvs pharmacy customer service and attitude towards other races other then white.

Worst location ever!I used to go to the CVS on Gateway Rd in Carlsbad and it was amazing! However, due to moving down the block from this location I decided to give it a try.My first attempt was going to get a flu shot. There was NO ONE in the store and after waiting 45 minutes I just left. Went to walmart & got the shot immediately.Second attempt was trying to pick up medication after stating it was available for pick up. It was NOT. I first waited 45 mins in the drive thru line (only 4 cars infront of us) finally said said screw it and went inside, waited another 15 mins for them to hand me routine medication. Such garbage. Avoid this location at all cost.

I have shopped here for years and was very happy with the customer service. However, today I went for a drive through PCR test and the agent was rude and abusive and told me to got to the San Marcos store (also on Rancho Santa Fe Rd.) The San Marcos agents were mystified and told me to go back to the La Costa store since they didn't offer those services. The agent in La Costa, Annette, was unkind and sent me on a wild goose chase. I spoke to the manager and he said he would speak to her. Beware if you need to get testing done at this site.

Have to change my review as of late.The way this pharmacy is operating currently is absolutely mind blowing. How is a company as large as CVS comprising patient care like this and getting away with it?The staff is VISIBLY frantic behind the counter, not to mention the comments such as “sorry there’s only three of us here”I dropped off a script for a controlled substance last month and when I called to pick it up no one could find it… This is just one example of the complete incompetence happening.If you are THIS short staffed do NOT take in this many customers! Covid has shown us that even big companies can simple change how they operate, end of story.There is a CVS not far in any direction, send patients elsewhere until your hiring crisis is over.The only reason I was not able to transfer mine prescription today was because it was still held in processing.I will be choosing another pharmacy moving forward.

COViD tested in the drive-thru line today (if you make the appointment on line apparently you go straight to the drive-thru even though they sent me a text message with instructions that told me to walk-up). My appointment was at 11:40 - when I eventually understood that the text they sent me was incorrect and I got in the drive thru line it was 11:38. With 6 cars in front of me it took me until 12:55 for my turn. When I said my appointment was over an hour ago the lady helping me said “oh I hear that all day” so apparently they are extremely inefficient all day everyday. I would never put myself through this frustrating experience again!

Worst pharmacy ever. I've been going to CVS pharmacy for over 20 years and recently switched to this location. I'm astonished at how atrocious the pharmacy is, how under trained and understaffed they are. Three separate times now they have told me my medication has been ready when it isn't. Very surprising that how awful the staff at the pharmacy is here since it's such a nice location. Stay away from this CVS If you want your medication on time.

This is the worst experience I have ever had with a pharmacy. My prescription was sent in yesterday and I came in today and they said it was not ready. I told them it was called in yesterday and her response was they are "weeks behind' and to come back in 30 minutes. I got home and was notified it was ready. I went back and arrived at 8:30pm and when it turned 9pm they rolled down their pharmacy screen and said they were closed after waiting 30 minutes. This is ridiculous and they were rude about it. They have lost my business and I will make sure everyone I know has heard about this.

Whoever runs the pharmacy (and all the workers there) are extremely rude and nasty. I had to sit and listen to the pharmacy workers complain about having people in line to get medication. Saying “you better be quick because I want to be out of here at 6”. It shocked me. It’s completely unprofessional for any employee to do that let alone a pharmacy worker.

CVS La Costa -For since BEFORE covid they have been delayed, understaffed, overextended and given the poorest service, but it has gotten exceedingly worse. For the last 4-5 months I will call or receive a text saying a prescription is ready only to arrive and have then tell me it "will be 20-30 minutes". They also don't answer their phone.....This week I was on hold for 45 minutes so that I could speak with a person to make sure meds were there. There was never any answer so I had to go in and wait to ask in person and then come back yet another day. Also the drive through has been exclusively for Covid tests (that take FOREVER) which you may not know that and get stuck in the drive through with no way to get out of line. I have wasted hours and hours of my life this year alone waiting for this pharmacy. DON"T use this pharmacy if you don't absolutely need to.

I have used this pharmacy for years. It was always consistent. I'm not sure what has happened in the last 4 months but everything is delayed. No one answers the phone when I call. Very disappointing. CVS is convenient for me. Now I have to move my prescriptions somewhere else.

On separate occasions, both my partner and I had not great experiences with the nurse practitioner (I believe Ivy Wilco?) in charge of minute clinic. On one occasion, she did not listen to / continuously argued against my partner who was simply trying to get a form signed for a routine test (who BTW is a student doctor at UCLA med). On the other, the COVID test she was administering took 1 hour for 4 people in line. Overall, not great experiences here, not the end of the world but just would recommend going somewhere else

My experience here was great; wish other stores had service based approach they “Easy” has. Store manager “Easy” held an item for me at register. I walked right in, used a coupon I had on my account (which I never have the patience for myself). Super friendly and helpful.

Three months in a row they are nearly a week behind in filling my regular prescriptions. There's no notice that they are delayed, I only find out status when I notice they haven't been filled days after they were promised and I call to get them to put it at the top of their list. Moving the prescriptions away as soon as I can.

Horrible COVID-19 testing site. Got here at 850 for a 9 apt. One car in front of us and didn’t get tested until 10. At least 11 cars behind us...so can’t imagine what the rest of the day would look like.Also paid for a rapid test for Hawaii travel and the guy at the window goes oh well I hope it backs to you in time. I am taking it 3 days before I leave the most allowable time. Uhhh isn’t that what I paid for to get my test in time for me travel? DO NOT GO HERE

I talked to a pharmacist on phone to pick up a prescription today and he told me that it would be ready in 20 min. Then I go there to pick up and they say they are out of stock. Then I asked the pharmacist to check if they have it in the nearest facility. She said it’s in Oceanside and and confirmed that she transferred it. I call the Oceanside pharmacy after about 20 min and they say that they haven’t received it and were very rude over the phone. It’s seems like they hired very unprofessional pharmacists. I’ve been a loyal customer for more than a decade in East coast and it’s very disappointing to see such fall in their values.

Awful! I drove through the drive through today with my bike and they made me go inside to pick up my prescription even though there was no one else in line. They were rude about it too. I even beggingly explained that they had no bike parking and carrying in all my bags would have been a huge hassle. The guy just mockingly with a huge smile on his face made me go in.

I cannot say enough about this CVS store/location. Every single employee is helpful, always smiling, and ready to serve his/her customers. I travel throughout CA and go to all of the CVS locations -- and this is, by far, the very best store I've frequented (I'm lucky that it is just down the street from where I live!) To all of the employees...to each and every one of them....I say THANK YOU. My visits to your store are occasions where I actually enjoy spending money -- I get to see YOU!

Seriously WORST pharmacy EVER! I always have a problem when I come here. They never have the medicine ready when they say they do and can never find me in the system. Most of the time they make me come back the next day. Worst part is I'm forced to come here for my client's dog because they're the only ones who carry the certain medicine. They really need to get their stuff together UGH

My son needed to go here to have a pre-employment drug screen sample taken. First day he went, they didn't have the right binder with the correct password (who keeps a password in a binder? - poor security). Second day he got the sample taken. They then proceeded to lose it. Cost him a week of work due to their inability to do a simple job.
