Have been bringing Capone here for years . Over 5 years . He’s had to have surgery here and this is also our place for check ups . There’s a reason I’ve been coming here for years and haven’t gone elsewhere . The quality of service and way we’re treated when here . The staff is amazing for starters . Before you even see the Dr. you see the staff and they set the tone for the visit . Well the staff here at Winnetka Animal Clinic is THE BEST . Always greeted with a smile & they’re all always so willing to go above and beyond to help and/or answer any questions … then next we see the Dr. wow wow wow . Image that ? A vet that loves pets . This is rare lol . Dr Smollin is hands down the best not only in so cal but all of the entire west coast . Patient knowledgeable and friendly . I always rest assure when there’s something wrong with Capone . He’s in good hands at winnetka animal clinic

I have been going here for about three years for my dog and cat. Every visit has been a good experience. Staff have always been friendly to me, and they have been kind and gentle with my pets. The doctor is professional and caring. I like that you don’t have to go inside. They will come to the car to pickup my pets and then bring them back. Prices are always reasonable. My only complaint is the parking. There are only a couple of spots but it somehow always works out.

I need to thank the doctor and staff at the clinic for their care and affection shown to my dog MIMI when I had to put her down. I also want to thank them for sending us a handwriting a sympathy card. It means a lot to our family to have them go out of their way to handwrite and mail us their condolences. What an amazing place! First time visiting with my dog and it was such a great experience. Everyone was very welcoming and so kind. They took care of my pet as if their own pet was in their hands. The price was also great! I’m always nervous about a Vet visit, but Winnetka Animal Clinic eases all those nerves. I recommend them to anyone looking for a team of truly caring professionals

Nicole was very knowledgeable, kind, and thorough. I felt comfortable talking to her right away!! Her customer service is on point. 👌🏽 I haven’t met the veterinarian yet (it’s covid times) but I am sure he is great too (my dog got her needs met). They also have Spanish speaking workers. This clinic is now my primary choice of care for my puppy.

What a nice staff and doctor. My gosh, I only wish my personal doctor was as caring and gentle. I met Dr Smollin for the first time today and we discussed an issue that my dog was having and he was so caring and took the time to explain things to me. The vet tech also explained thoroughly how to administer all medications. I love this clinic. The area is a little busy and you’ll find your fair share of weirdos lingering around but that’s pretty normal for LA.

I have never seen a dog be so excited to go to the vet! My golden doodle loves coming to the clinic. He gets super excited to see the staff and they love him. Dr. Smollin is so kind and sincere and will never try to push for extra stuff & his staff is amazing, super caring and kind. They were all very kind when I had to help my first fur baby cross the rainbow bridge. You can tell they sincerely care about the client as well as the pet. I have had a few scares with my current fur baby and they always do their best to fit me in, and if they can’t get me in they always give me options of where I can go. I appreciate that instead of telling me to wait until they have availability (which some times can be a few days out) they give me options of where I can have my fur baby seen asap in case of an emergency. I can’t recommend Winnetka Animal Clinic enough. Thank you for all you guys do!

Excellent Service! Staff is super friendly, efficient and very well trained. We are new in the area and had already been turned down by other vets closer to home that are not taking in new clients. We're happy that happened because we found this place and will gladly keep coming back. We were able to get an appointment the very same day we called, we were taken care of at the scheduled time and they treated our children with love, care and professionalism. It is especially noteworthy that they were able to handle our spicier child with grace! The dogs were calm and happy when they returned to the car. Thank you for everything!!

This place is great. We have been bringing out pets here for many years, and even when we have strays that need help, these guys are amazing. The staff are so friendly, and loving. The doctors are the same. The prices are super reasonable, and the service is amazing. They always answer the phone. Since covid it has changed a little. You need an appointment, you pull into the parking lot, you call them from your car, and they come out to help you. If you are looking for a forever Vet, look no more. We are so happy with Winnetka Animal Clinic.

This is the best vet in the valley! They actually care about your dog and not their profits. This is the only vet I will use for my Bulldogs. Just had my puppy checked and the vet took extra care with him and additional time with us. The best!

Please see below for original post.A classic retaliatory response by Marc Smollin, the son of the veternarian. Marc Smollin not only fabricates conversations that never happened, tells customers to "have a good life", and stalks customers' LinkedIn pages after they leave his business as a means to intimidate them, but he concocts a story to save face. For clarification, nobody ever asked Mr. Smollin or anyone else to break the law. The problem is that this business substituted a tech-vet instead of the actual vet without notifying me that my dog's flea medication could not be renewed. The clinic makes several mistakes, which Mr. Smollin himself admits. Mr. Smollin conveniently decided to write this response after learning that after seven years, I moved my business to a new clinic. Mr. Smollin is now retaliating. How sad.The place is disorganized. The receptionist named Nicole defended the vet for something that she knew nothing about . Vet had previously left town and did not notify customers of such fact, resulting in multiple customers waiting outside the Clinic without knowing that their appointments were cancelled. Nobody received a call in advance. Nothing was posted on the door. Vet apologized for the confusion after it happened. But still, Nicole denies that it ever happened. Just an absolute liar. The Clinic denied my dog's prescription medication because they claimed an annual physical was necessary first. But nobody ever contacted me to schedule a physical for my dog. Months ago, I took him to the Clinic. He was seen by a tech-vet, as opposed to the veterinarian. They charged me for that visit. But apparently this does not count in order to get prescription medication. They never told me that. They did not care. They were only after getting money. Have been with this place for 7 years. Disappointed that this is the level of service they are providing now. Bottom line, Nicole is a liar. This Clinic continues to fail to be on top of things. Worse, I spoke with Dr. Smolen's son who is the manager of the clinic. He offered me what I considered a disingenuous apology. When I told him that I thought his apology was disingenuous, his reply was "Take care, have a nice life" and then proceeded to hang up the phone on me. Unprofessionalism at its finest.

Loved this vet, part of several generations of family and family pets. However, they’re just too busy. Can’t ever get an appointment. If you have an emergency, forget about it. Maybe they just got too popular. Would love to go back…but they don’t have time.

Don’t come to this vet if you have an English Bulldog. The vet here doesn’t know what to look for in this breed in addition to being pricey. I brought my puppy here in December 2022 for a general check-up and before I go on.. the process during my visit was very disappointing. They wouldn’t even let me be inside the clinic and told me I had to wait inside my car out front while the vet inspected my dog. The only contact I had with the vet was a quick 2 minute phone call where he basically scared me saying that my dog had a multitude of things wrong with her which included loose kneecaps and suggested I get surgery on my (at the time) 3.5 month old puppy. I thought surgery on a 3.5 month old puppy sounded strange.. So, I took my puppy to a bulldog specialist veterinarian all the way out in riverside for a second opinion. That second vet told me all of the things the first vet at this location told me about my dog were false and that my puppy was perfectly healthy and that it was insane to recommend a surgery procedure on a puppy’s kneecaps at such a young age and would do her more harm than good. I paid almost 75% less at that location for a check up. The worst part? I found out a few weeks ago thru recent lab testing done with my current vet that my dog has an extremely rare hair follicle tumor condition and that this vet noted on my dog’s medical record during her visit so now because of that it’s labeled a pre-existing condition and anything related to that, my insurance won’t cover. WOW! I absolutely had no way of even knowing so now I’m screwed all because they noted it on her medical records I wish they had never wrote it down because now I’ve spent almost $2K on surgeries since then to remove tumors in critical areas and my insurance won’t cover a dime. I wish I had never taken her here.

Took my dog here for a check up to show the pound. They gave me an appointment with in a day love their drive up feature. You drive up and they take your pet then they call and tell you what is needed and you are done. Vet and staff are awesome.

When I called, they fortunately had a same-day cancellation and I was able to take our pet in.On the phone, the admin was nice and friendly sounding. Upon arrival, they were also nice.I wasn't able to go inside due to COVID regulations, which is fine, and they came out and handled everything as usual (paperwork & explanation).They took my pet in for the doctor to check. Doctor called and patiently, professionally, and with a calm/soothing tone, explained everything. Following that, the assistant came out to take payment and provide medication with instructions.Will definitely go back!!

Very caring and they will spend as much time as you need to answer all your questions and concerns. The staff also do wellness calls to make sure your pet is feeling better. Only vet in my immediate area that wasn't booked a month in advance. I got an appointment within a few days, appointment time was met, had a consultation quite quickly, the meds were ready quickly, and the price was very reasonable. Phone follow up today and I was called back almost immediately and could have been upsold services and wasn't so that's cool. I guess they're my new vet. No complaints.

I love this place. Been going here for over 10 years. Does anyone know what happened to them. There phone number has been disconnected a think a few days ago, I drove by the clinic and the doors are look with no infor or forwarding address. My dog and cats are due for their boosters in October, how do I get my records.I am quit concerned. TMobile next door is also closed with a metal bar across and a sign stating all monies and phones have been taken away.

Dr. Smollin, the clinic's owner, is genuinely concerned for both your dog (cats) and you. He is compassionate and very reasonably priced. When my dog had to be euthenized many years ago due to cancer, his diagnosis and caring staff made it a lot easier and my grief subsided considereably. It would have been rather the opposite at most other run of the mill pet clinics! Dr. Smollin is the best vet I know that practices in the Valley, with many years of experience!

Stay away from here like the Plague!!! Worst experience ever!!! Their customer service person tried to blame me for not communicating what I clearly told the technician needed to be done then she rudely hung up the phone after I complained and said I wasn't happy about the service. The first and last time I will ever take a pet there. I made a mistake bringing my beloved cat to this place and hopefully you won't make the same mistake. They gave me the wrong medication and charged me for medication I didn't even get. When I made them aware the girl I spoke to on the phone brushed it off like it's something they do all the time and told me not to worry the other medication does the same thing, but the tech guy who handed my kitty back to me said no such thing!!! Then they had the office manager call me and that got me nowhere, poor guy, must be like the deaf leading the blind over there cause after I explained everything he did nothing to resolve the issues and now I have to spend more money and take my cat to a real vet that actually administers medication and does what is asked of them, a reputable place that gives the correct medication and explains clearly what you are being charged for and then resolves client issues with by making the customer happy. A simple solution would have been to offer me a refill at no charge but they wanted to up charge me for an injection, meaning another visit. Absolutely unacceptable, so they have lost my business for good and I would not recommend them to anyone.

Great and efficient service even during Corona times. They got my puppy in quickly and the vet got me in right away. They asked questions and took interest in my puppy's health. Vet was more interested in getting Honey Boo Boo better than making me spend a lot of money on unnecessary tests and treatment. He actually listened to what I thought was going on based on her history. I think we found our new vet! Will definitely come back and recommend.

The front desk staff & nurses are very friendly and helpful. Which says a lot because I have been to quite a few animal hospitals and I had never encountered such a happy and friendly staff. You can tell they love what they do. Dr. Lee is very patient and kind, he did my dogs tumor removal surgery and dental at a much more affordable price than I was quoted at another animal hospital in the area and their quote didn’t even include a dental cleaning. So happy I found this animal clinic!

I have been going there for years. Absolutely wonderful. Dr. Smolin is amazing as far as I'm concerned and even though he was away the other day when I took my dog, the vet filling in was wonderful and took care of the problem. She gave my dog a shot and by the time we left he had already started to feel better. The staff is always kind and compassionate. I highly recommend this vet.

I would leave -100 stars if I could. The receptionist is a complete bi**h and does not care about animals even in an emergency situation. We can’t talk to the vet we have known for 20 years. If our dog dies, it’s on your conscience.
