Next level Egg-in-the-Hole at Sam's Social Club in Calistoga! These are regulars in my breakfast rotation. My mom calls them hobo eggs, with the story that hobos only had one frying pan, so it was a dish they could easily make all at once.Sam's version is definitely a step up from that origin story! Parmesan-crusted brioche is glazed with truffle, the egg fried inside, and all is served over porcini cream. Y'all, I don't even like mushrooms, but I knew that I would like this because it's the texture of mushroom that doesn't agree with me—the taste can be an essential player at times and was perfect for this dish.Don't sleep on those breakfast potatoes either. Perfectly cooked with a crusty outer shell and delicious topped with their house-made pepper sauce.

The food here is absolutely amazing. One of the best lamb shanks I’ve even had. Top quality ingredients, everything is very fresh and the flavors are inimitable! Very fun and lively place, a little bit hectic on weekends. The staff super helpful and very accommodating. Breana, Brooke and Jose went out of their way to make our night perfect and memorable.

Nice place to dine in the northern Napa Valley. The atmosphere was relaxed and seating comfortable. The service was excellent and the wait staff were attentive. The food was decent but not spectacular, and rather pricy for what you received. The lamb was a little bland, the NY strip steak somewhat better. Still, a good time was had by all...

Sam's has good food, not 10/10, but a good 8/10 for food, quality and price. The cocktails could be better as well. I had a Manhatten and it was on the smaller side and not something I would likely order again. The local wine and pricing for wine is also quite ridiculous. A glass of Picayune is $16? A bottle you can buy 3 blocks away is $24? I get that beer, wine and liquor is often the only profit for a restaurant but that's a bit ridiculous. Outside of that the restaurant has good ambiance, good service and good food.

UPDATE 2: The server Angel and Dylan are great in comparison to what we've experienced up to this point. 🤞 We just got unlucky because the food is almost always great and it's so convenient.UPDATE1: yeah, last chance before we stop coming here, second time getting the octopus and they burnt it to a crisp on some spots. The server was making us feel quite uncomfortable and the continued *drop and run* style was frustrating. You can't charge this much and not provide good quality customer service while having inconsistent food quality.Old Review: Sam's has delicious food and we eat there often. I just wish the front of the house was better, when food is delivered it's often a *plops stuff done, immediately leaves*. Some staff are good, but the majority seem inexperienced and lack customer service.

We spent a couple of days in Calistoga and had dinner here on our second night. We walked since our hotel was just across the street. Very relaxed vibe. The server was attentive and gave us good recommendations. Really enjoyed the octopus we got as a starter. Then we got the salmon and grilled pork chop. Generous portions. Would like to try their brunch next time.

Sam’s is a nice restaurant with great food. My mother and I both agreed the octopus was the best we’ve had stateside. The Ora king salmon was delicious, but a very small portion. Cauliflower steak was also great. The service was not on par with food. We would return.

Breakfast here (served until 10:30 on week days) was a leisurely pleasure. The patio is beautiful and service was attentive. The coffee was reasonably good, and the bagel with lox was a beautiful spread with plenty of salmon. Was the bagel NY quality? No, but you’re in Calistoga! My only other quips are that the capers were huge which made them quite a mouthful of salt, and that they didn’t ask our table if we have any allergies.We also tried the banana bread, which came toasted! It was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and came with a fun mascarpone spread. Is there anything more fun than mini loaves of bread? I don’t think so.If you can, make a morning of it and do breakfast here, then massages at the spa and swimming at the hot springs. Just know it is on the pricey side (it was about $50/person for two adults having breakfast).

💯 and more if I could give that many stars.The service and meals have been so good.We started with lunch yesterday then dinner, then breakfast today.I thought I would need the sharp steak knife pictured, but the meat was so tender it was not required. No wonder the knife was so shiny, sees very little usage.My wife usually only eats once per day... but it was so good we had to try all 3 meals.Definitely coming back on our next visit to Napa.

We picked Sam’s for dinner since it was right there at the Indian Springs Calistoga. After a nice mud bath experience, we didn’t want to drive anywhere so it was super convenient. We were served by the sweetest waitress and we just felt so taken cared of! Food was great. My husband did the pasta of the day which he demolished. I had the king salmon which was fork tender and super buttery. We also did the octopus which was a humongous portion and also delicious! For dessert, we shared a salted caramel gelato and oh my God. That woke me up from my wine buzz. It was just so good that my husband and I were fighting over it!! The only issue I can see some customers struggling with was how hot it was. Luckily we came for dinner so it did get cooler. We recommend sitting outside because it can get stuffy inside. Parking was easy to find as well. Highly recommend especially if you’re staying at the Indian Springs Calistoga hotel.

Great tasting food and drinks. Staff were very accommodating with subbing items on menu. Made great suggestions. Friendly and responsive staff. Food came out surprisingly quick. Beautiful seating both inside and out. Plenty of shade for seating outdoors. Great for groups and couples. Would definitely recommend and return.

An absolute must especially if staying at Indian Springs. We had a wonderful dinner with a couple we met at the pool! So from age 10-70 we all partied away and enjoyed each other and great food! That’s an amazing weekend: make new friends, eat with several generations, sleep til noon, literally , the next day!! Not due to excess but to the most incredible relaxation. Lots of other great food, see menu, but the old school meeting families at the pool.,having dinner- this is priceless!

The restaurant is situated beautifully within the Indian springs resort. We had their brunch menu and really loved the eggs (both scrambled and omelette styles were great). The chicken sausage links were more flavorful and generous than the patty styled sausages.

This meal was probably our favorite during our trip. It was outstanding. The outdoor seating area created a beautiful ambiance. The food was so delicious. The pork belly and peri peri chicken were our favorites. Dessert was just okay though.

OMG! Wow....Farm fresh!!!! I have never had such a farm fresh breakfast as this one...OMG! The Toad in the Hole and the Scramble eggs with potatoes..the Belgium Waffle....I can't say enough.... the flavors and freshness were incredible...with fresh butter, lovely preserve, excellent hot sauce and top that with a Mimosa! I was in heaven...could have stayed all day...Oh and top that with live music...YES! I'd give it 10 stars if I could. Don't miss this!!!Parking: Lots of free parking.

Four of us had breakfast / brunch here this week. It’s under renovation construction at the moment but they are serving out back under a giant tent with plenty of heaters. Menu was pretty solid for breakfast items. I branched out and tried the ‘egg in the hole’ and it did not disappoint. Everyone enjoyed their meals and the servings were more than enough. Especially after a banana bread to share to start! Good stuff. 👍🏻

Lovely place to visit!! We came here during the pandemic for outdoor dining. They have a nice tent set up with lots of heaters. Service was excellent! We had the brussel sprouts, cauliflower steak, beet salad with salmon, butter lettuce salad, all delicious. But the best part was dessert! Olive oil thyme cake is amazing!! Highly recommend.

Went to Sam's on a girls trip for dinner and we loved it!The ambiance is beautiful and calming inside and on the patio, but we sat inside because of the rain.We started out with the grilled octopus and ceviche - both wonderful options. Although, we really loved the octopus best - it was tender, flavorful and a large portion!My friend and I were filling up on the apps, so we decided to split the braised lamb shank, which was cooked to perfection and paired nicely with the resotto.Finally, we finished with churros! I've had a lot of churros in Spain, and these were the best ones I've ever had!
