So, we found Lawer while walking by in downtown Calistoga. Having only 7 reviews, it looked quaint and inviting so we decided to stop in. Cante gave us the full run down of the vineyards, family history, and wines they offer. He was fantastic. Very personable, knowledgeable and friendly. The Rose kicked us off, and we thoroughly enjoyed it, especially being a warm day, it was refreshing being bubbly and chilled. Each wine thereafter we liked, which has been rare for us on our tour of wine country. Most locations also have not been as warm and welcoming. My wife and I were impressed, and are looking forward to our next visit.

Lawer Wstate is right in town at a convenient spot for tastings. We made a same day reservation (walkin possible) and felt very welcomed by the staff. We tasted the unoaked chardonnay, Rosé of syrah, Syrah, and Cabernet Sav. They were unique, not overly sweet, and pleasant. The outdoornsitting are was perfect for a sunny winter day- and a dog.

Fantastic wine. After visiting Mayacamas, Montelena, Amorosa, we had quite a variety and we didn’t know much about Lawer but after trying it decided the wine here was up in the ranks. Loved it!

So... what a fantastic experience!! While searching the Napa Valley for Vinyard tastings that were completely booked for the entire duration of our stay, we stumbled across this location in Calistoga.We walked in, after seeing some empty tables outside. Cante, our host and expert, sat us down and the experience began. Cante took us through 5 different red wines as if he was writing a novel about each of them. His descriptions were not only perfect and on point, but we were able to taste and feel the words he said as we were tasting. It was a truly enjoyable and memorable experience and we would highly recommend this tasting location.

This was my husband & I'd first stop upon arriving in Napa Valley and we couldn't have had a better time! Christian, the manager, greeted us and was so welcoming our entire stay. We sat outside on the back patio and did the Portfolio tasting which was excellent. The Viognier and the Cab were particularly good! I'll the grapes are local to Calistoga, and it's owner founded & run which I always love supporting. I would highly recommend you pop by, as reservations aren't needed!

Lawers Estates is located in the heart of Calistoga, CA, so it’s easy to find, and if you’re staying near the town, walking to Lawers Estates should only take a few minutes. We didn’t have a reservation for the wine tasting, but we walked in and got a few seats.Lawer Estates is a relatively small winery, but they had the best red wines I’ve ever had. Most of the seating was around the bar, with one section in the back with a large table and a couple of chairs. My only recommendation would be to add a few more cozy chairs as options for those that don’t want to sit at a bar.The prices were in line with where they should be, and the service was top-notch. If you are in the area and looking for a romantic winery in Calistoga, I recommend stopping in.Overall, I would come back. Thank you for the fantastic experience!

First ever wine tasting experience, and boy did Cante and the Lawer Estates family set the bar HIGH. What a wonderful company with what sounds like an amazing owner! Will be visiting Lawer Estates anytime we come back to California. Also the wine club is an extremely fantastic value. A place that chooses quality of taste and experience over the mass produced and sometimes unpalatable big wine feel. 10/10 would recommend.

My partner and I had an AMAZING time at a tasting here today. We loved that they were a small, passionate business who is starting to grow in Napa Valley. Cante was the best part of this experience and was truly the perfect person to have running Lawer. We will never forget our experience here and even signed up for their bottle club. Don’t skip out on this gem! The wine is amazing (try the bubbly rose!!) but the host and history is really what sells this place! 10/10!!

This is a true boutique winery with wines that rival the highest end wines you can find in Napa Valley, but at a much more reasonable price. The tasting is right on the main street of Calistoga with both outdoor and indoor seating that sets the mood. The cheese plate has the perfect variety that pairs well with all the wines. Don't miss this!

My wife and I, on referral, enjoyed an experience at the Betsy Lawer Winery tasting room with the director of hospitality, Cante, today. His knowledge of the Napa Valley and the Lawer wines’ team efforts came alive on our palates! It’s usually not difficult for us to leave a wine tasting without purchasing or joining a wine club. But the Lawer wines quality and value made it impossible for us to do either this day! It was also a nice touch when Betsy made a personal call thanking us for our purchase and asking for comments about our experience! We wish to recommend to everyone visiting Calistoga to stop in and experience the Lawer Winery tasting room!

Came here about two weeks ago, and I still think about the wine and the experience. Lots of aromatic, and flavorful options here— none of which disappointed. Chanty is the man! Very knowledgeable and passionate about his field of work. Great place to start a lil day drinking trip. Located right next to a lot of food joints and bars. Overall, 5 star service and experience. Don’t forget to get a bottle to go! Will be back.

Stopped in unexpectedly on a Saturday afternoon and was not disappointed! Delish wines with knowledgeable and very helpful staff. Jonesy helped some out of towners find a place for dinner while giving us some generous pours. I would 100% recommend to others and hope to return!
