We were really looking forward to our visit to Laura Michael wines based on the reviews but Laura was not our host as we had hoped.I am not sure what the lady's name was as she did not tell us. We were offered indoor or outdoor seating and chose the latter, it is a lovely setting. For the tasting we were given a good amount of wines to taste but we had one white and the rest were red, more variation would have been preferable.Having said that we did really like most of the wines. We learnt a lot of interesting facts about wine and it's the only vineyard we've been to that we were provided with fresh glasses for different wines which was a big bonus point from us! If we were being really honest we didn't feel we could relax as much as other wine tastings we've been to as our host sat with us the whole time, she was a lovely lady but it just felt a little awkward at times making conversation. We walked up to the vineyard and asked if we could have a little walk around to see more but were told only the owner's dogs can walk around. I've seen photos of visitors stood at the top previously so not sure why we couldn't. I really hope my review doesn't offend because everyone was pleasant but it's just my honest review of my own experience.

One of the best winery experiences we've had in Napa! Currently part of the wine club, Laura is very personable and friendly, took her time explaining what makes them unique. Went first time in 2015 and are still fans! Love the Bentley!!

The owners are so sweet and wonderful. The wines here are the best we tasted on our trip. (We visited about 10 places). HIGHLY RECOMMEND.This is the best kept secret in the Napa valley, hands down.

We were able (and so thankful) to visit Laura Michael Wines during May 2021. We booked same day wine tasting reservations and had an incredible experience. The wieners are so friendly and knowledgeable. We loved the gardens and tour of the vineyard. There are three adorable pups around and it really felt like home! Definitely a must visit place when in Calistoga!

On our third day in Calistoga, we reached out to the winery to see if we could do a tasting. Michael answered the phone and since we were so close by where we were staying, he noodled us into a tasting in about five minutes and when we got there, the welcoming committee of puppies was absolutely incredible! And then down came Michael to make us feel like we were visiting a favorite uncle or cousin to spend some time at his home drinking good wine and chatting about things we understood. It helped a little that he happened to be local to where we’re from, so we shared some stories about summer at home.But the wine.The WINE.Stellar. Succulent. Amazing.If you are ever in Napa, you simply must make the trek to spend some time at this winery. You will NOT be disappointed.

I can't say enough wonderful things about this winery. We were warmly greeted by the two dogs who live on the property, and they supervised us the whole time. Our hostess led us through a tasting of delicious wines during a walk through the property, and we met Michael himself and learned of the love story that inspired the winery's name. The wine was amazing, the company amazing, and the winery itself beautiful.

This is Napa's best kept secret! If you like reds then Laura Michael is a must visit. The zinfandel is the best I've ever had! The owners are so welcoming and friendly they treat you like family from the moment you arrive. The fall harvest lobster boil is FIRE!!!! If you're not a wine person, you will be after visiting here!

Great little winery. Two dogs will come greet you as you arrive. Intimate tasting room with a shaded patio. Jim rocked and wines were delicious! If you go, ask about how this winery came to be- it's a great story.

Laura and Michael we're wonderful. Our visit was on a Monday during Crush. Michael spent some time with us; he showed us their operation and he discussed with us the benefits of the Bordeaux glass for our favorite Pinot Noir... Wow, what a difference the glassware made. I'm a newbie to the finer points of wine and this was a wonderful experience. Their wines we're delightful and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

So I opened this marvelous Rose. 2 bottles on the rack, no problem, right?Oh, so this came from the destination Bachelorette Party the daughter attended. After a call to my Beloved Wife, to my shame, I have raided the wrong collection.The cork has a phone number on it.Bless you Laura, you saved me!Not only was my call answered, I placed an order to correct my miscalculation, and a couple bonus bottles!

Great wine, great guide and 3 friendly dogs . Overall one of the best wines I tried was a light fruity Pinot Noir, and the Zinfandel Rose was good. Best of all was the desert red......like Port but better

This was our first stop of the day and we kept talking about it as the day went on. You can tell the wines are made with love. They have the most incredible scent and are delicious. Eight tastings in a beautiful setting. You won't regret visiting.

I can't really put a finger on it but there is something that resulted in my love for this place.It might be because it is small and feels like you visiting old friend. Or two super friendly Labradors. Or the fact that you can bring you own food and enjoy winner tasting. Or the great, warm and accommodating attitude of the owners.It is always a good idea to make a reservation ahead of time.

Just visited Laura Michael Winery and could not have enjoyed it more.....Laura and Michael were welcoming, informative and just a great end to our weekend...Wines were surprisingly good and varied, especially enjoyed both Zins their Rutherford and Bentley Cabs as well.... So nice to sit back and enjoy the wine with our friends without the "glitz" and frivolity of some of the corporate wineries...
