DO NOT STAY HERE. I will start by saying that I travel a lot for work and have seen my fair share of nasty hotel rooms both nationally and abroad. This place has taken my #1 spot for the most nastiest, disgusting and unsafe room I have ever seen. My entire group refused to spend the night here. There was blood and other bodily fluid stains everywhere. Mold in the bathroom. Bugs in the bed and all over the room. The owners clearly run this business based off their no refund policy. They do not have a cleaning staff. The old couple who runs the place do everything, therefore, nothing is cleaned. There were also homeless people staying a steel shipping containers on the premises. To the owners, where is your pride and dignity? How do you sleep at night knowing that you do not do the bare minimum for your your OWN business. I recommend traveling a few miles south to Brawley. The Brawley Inn and Best Western are excellent and fairly priced.Safety: Unsafe environment, I cleaned bodily fluids and mold.

We came from a different hotel that was worse and more expensive so I almost feel bad rating it a 1. the office door doesnt really open. Honestly if the room was clean it wouldn't be too bad. It's like they didn't even try. Just rolled the same blankets back. Everything was dusty. fridge smelled horrendous and had stains all over in it. there was a soda that exploded on the wall (which I thought was blood at first). I really couldnt understand why they wouldn't just clean the rooms. Found out the property is for sale. That explains why the owners could care less if people return or not. you can see the world's tallest flagpole from the hotel so I guess that's a view.Rooms: Dirty rooms. Clearly they don't have housekeeping and need one.

Checked in. Hair in the bathroom. Sink was dirty. Pillows were flat as pancakes. Neighbor was screaming obscenities all night. The bed sloped to the right. Almost rolled out twice. Was going to stay a couple weeks. Thought I could rough it. I thought wrong. Third night I rotated the king mattress to sleep on the high side near the open area of the room. Felt something hit my feet during the move. Yep. It’s a crack pipe. I go back to bed and wake up next morning early for work. I throw the pipe away in the outside garbage. I call mid day to explain why I’m moving hotels. The owner starts bitching at me that he’s trying to run a business and that he will have to charge me an extra night and an additional fee. Insinuating the whole time I’m lying about the crack pipe because he didn’t “find it when he dumped the garbage”. I finally shared a picture I had taken of it and he just walked away. Like every other review you see here, don’t come here.

I am sorry to leave such a bad review. But this is the nastiest room I have ever stayed in. And to top it off I paid $90 for it. Next time I am better off sleeping in my car. As we walked in we noticed a really bad smell like someone has been smoking in there for 30 years, even though it's a non smoking room. Next we find a dead roach welcoming us in the bathroom. Beds and covers covered up in yellow stains. I went into the room at 10:30 pm and was planning on waking up early like around 2 am to go hunting, so I said it's only a few hours. But ended up not able to get any sleep because of the smell, it was that bad!!!

Like several people noted in other reviews, my wife (Mindah) and I stayed at Calipatria Inn without first reading reviews. I do not like to give bad reviews and really need to be compelled to do so.Well, I am compelled now. I have travelled and stayed in many places as varied as South Sudan, Nepal, Tunisia, and Peru. Even in remote places in simple motels or inns, I've noted when an earnest effort has been made to keep a place clean.This place was not clean. We checked into a room upstairs. The carpet was stained, did not look as though it had been vacuumed in a very long time. The mirror had a patina of dust. The couch in the room had stains. I made the mistake of opening the mini fridge which had dried brown stains in it. I went to ask the manager to come look at the fridge. He said it was dirty because I'd requested an upstairs room, that if I'd asked for a room downstairs, I'd find those cleaner. He said the difference in cleanliness was due to being unable to find sufficient staff to clean rooms. So we moved downstairs.Maybe he meant the basement because the room to which we moved was also unclean. To the manager's credit, he went, got a rag and wiped down the inside of the minifridge in the downstairs room to which we moved. I wish I'd thought to check the freezer before we left. I opened it and quickly shut it so that the mold in the freezer could not invade the room. Not that it mattered, as this room was also grimy. People, I am not easily disgusted but this room had smears and stains in various places.I went to get ice from an ice machine outside. I approached it. It was covered in dust and honestly, if HAD been working, probably would not have been safe to take ice from. The manager said the ice machine wasn't working right now. To me, it looked like it had not worked for several years. Approximately 5 minutes later, the manager knocked on the door with a full ice cube tray which we appreciated. Unfortunately, the ice bucket was smeared with fingerprints. Kind of disgusting.Admittedly, the sheets appeared clean but we avoided looking at the underlying mattress given the state of the rest of the room.I give the manager (owner?) three stars for his attempt at service. He moved us promptly (although to an equally dirty room), brought us ice, and even showed up at our door in the morning with a coffee pot full of coffee. Sadly, none of this makes up for a night spent feeling uncomfortable and disgusted in our unclean room. We also were bemused by the manager's initial suggestion that the initial dirtiness of the room was our fault for choosing an upstairs room, as though it was obvious that if we'd wanted a cleaner room, we should have chosen one downstairs, WHICH WAS STILL UNCLEAN.What I don't understand is why the owner hasn't made adjustments and tried to address the problems that are noted in so many reviews below, especially the complaints about cleanliness. For what he is charging, this place should be much cleaner and in a better state of repair.Noteworthy details: fingerprints, various smears, dust, light covering above the sink was missing, various smears on back of bathroom door, MOLLLLLLD in the freezer, stains in carpet and on couch. GROSS, GROSS, GROSS.

I'm traveling with my sister and we spontaneously wanted to spend the night in Calipatria before traveling on to San Diego by car. Without looking at the reviews first, we checked into this hotel in the evening. The first impression of the room was okay, but the light was so bad that you couldn't see much. Suddenly we saw a lot of crickets on the floor that were still half moving. the bathroom was dirty and had lots of dead and alive spiders and flies. There were blood stains and otherwise indefinable stains on the bed linen. the sofa was so dirty too! It was terrible and it looked like the room hadn't been cleaned in a long time. We then complained to the owner, who gave us another room. it was just as dirty and horrible as the first! There were even crickets on the bed under the pillow and the fridge was so full of dirt and grease stains. We went to the owner and informed him that we cannot spend a single night here! He didn't want to give us the money back and pointed to a certificate and said he had awards. We then went to a motel in El Centro and were just happy to get out of this place and hotel. It was like a horror movie!

I had my two SMALL children with me and it was an total horrible scary experience... as I'm READING all these good 5 stars reviews I can't agree with them... for one I had a late check in.. there was barely anyone there I was told to park in the back and walk through to my room. I wondered why should I park in the back when no one is here.. I parked in the back there was no cameras, then a car appears on the end from me, rolls down there window and stares at us then puts there seat back.. my mind oh no so I parked in the front where I would be able to watch my car.... long story short when we got to the room I immediately tried to turn on the lights. the lights didn't work and my children went back to the front desk... for some reason my phone wasn't working yet I have a iPhone so I was able to text my family and friends to call the hotel and ask the man to come to the desk... he never answered none of there calls... we went back to the car... same car that was came driving around us, then left I was able to call the front desk..... furthermore I got a fully refund THE OWNER DIDNT EVEN CARE FOR OUR CONCERNS OR FOR THE SAEFTY OF MY CHILDREN AND I... TOTALLY UNSAVE PLACE FOR WOMAN AND CHILDREN!!! ALWAYS BE AWARE OF YOUR SURROUNDS AT ALL TIMES....Safety: TOTALLY UNSAVE PLACE FOR WOMAN AND CHILDREN!!! The owner/Managers are wonderful people. They go above and beyond to make your stay a great experience. They are fair and friendly, very helpful. I left a bag there inadvertently and when i called they checked made sure it was kept safe and offered i could come back or they could send to me, which they did probably. thank you.The Inn itself may be dated but it was very clean, comfortable, streaming tv, suites have full size refrigerators. the storage space great. even had a BBQ grill. Keep up the Great Job Love this place, Highly Recommend! Also Pet friendly 💕

Dirty, extremely filthy dirty. Rooms had very dim yellow lights so I could not see how dirty everything was until I used a flashlight. Dirty ring around the bath, microwave had food in it, dirty linens in closet. However because I was tired I accepted the situation until I pulled down the bed covers and found black hairs on sheets around the head of the bed. After this I told the owner I could not stay the night and he refused to refund me. I left to find another hotel my safety is more important. I think he rents out rooms during day and again at night. You decide if you’ll want to stay here.

I was disgusted with the room. It was filthy! I told the manager/owner and he did not care. Cobb webs everywhere, towels were heavily stained. Dust everywhere, carpet did not appear to be vacuumed, bathroom floors were not swept. Refrigerator and microwave were also filthy. I will NEVER stay there again. The pool water was green! It would not let me post a review without at least one star. I give it ZERO stars.

Honestly it was below okay, the service for what I paid is a ripoff. I only stayed for 4 hours to visit a family member and I was charged $65. Ridiculous in my opinion! The cable only had 4 channels, and I was afraid of how dirty this room was. I had to clean appliances because I have a toddler. This place needs a major clean up and way better service. I would avoid this location and choose a clean hotel that’s worth the price.

Spent 89 night to have spiders all over the room. Big one crawling on me in bed at 1am. Then not being able to sleep after that I decided to shower with his buddies in the bathroom only to find I had no hot water! The room was not clean dust all over and spider webs did I mention the SPIDERS!!!!!! No way would I go back. Use to be a ok hotel not anymore!

Even at the bargain price of $85, this motel is not worth it. The facility is poorly maintained with dirty rooms and breakfast is no longer served despite website claims. Wifi has barely one bar, even from a room next to the office. Pool is empty.Microwave was filthy with food residue on the walls, door, and turntable, and fridge had mold and crumbs.Pillows were hard and flat, with threadbare pillow cases. Sheets were ripped and stained. Towels were thin, rough, and stained with makeup and other unidentifiable substances.Shower drain was rusty and tub stained and chipped. Peeling paint in bathroom. Tile floor had dirt caked in the grout and wall corners. Bathroom sink top had cigarette stains and razor blade cuts. No sink drain plug. Mirror was dirty. Light fixture had many dead insects, including a large cockroach. Toilet paper holder had a missing bracket.One bedroom wall had a large area spattered with a shiny reddish substance. Curtains were torn. Dust and cobwebs on ceiling and walls. Nightstand had dried substances on top and drawer fronts. Chairs had food crumbs. Coffeepot in room was dirty, plus no coffee or filters provided.Proprieter started to argue with us when we told him about the issues we saw. When he was shown photos he finally offered to investigate. We left for the day and upon returning noticed he had removed the dead cockroach, partially wiped out the microwave, made an incomplete attempt to wipe out the fridge, and used a large angled screw to replace the missing toilet paper bracket. Everything else was as gross as before.Needless to say, we cut short our stay.

I don't recommend anyone to stay unless they like getting mistreated.The guy in charge was rude and even yelled at us. Paid 100 thinking it was going to be a good night and he ruined it. He also asked for 200 dollar deposit which in most hotels rated less than that won't do it and have better stuff in the rooms than this place. No refund unfortunately but that's the last time I book at Calipatria inn and that's what is sad about a place where I use to live. I hope anyone who wants to stay there to please read the reviews before booking...big mistake

Love small mom and pop places. Makes you feel like you are more than just a guest. The couple who run it are very sweet and it was refreshing after being on the road with kids for 9 hours to see smiling faces! My room was clean as well as my sheets. Overall, the hotel is on the older side and not everything outside our room was brand new or free of flaws, but I will take great service and friendly staff over the look of perfection any day of the week.

Do not stay at this hotel! The pictures on the website are not the reality. We had booked 2 rooms for 4 nights for business and didn't last one night. There were bugs all over the floor, even found one on the bed. The bathroom was in poor condition and the water barely worked. There was a urine stain on the bedding and satanic message scratched into the drawer. We checked out after staying one night and they would only refund one night. Make the drive to Brawley. Don't stay here.

This place was DISGUSTING!!! There were dead roaches on the bathroom floor, stained sheets, very dusty, and no wifi. The coffee maker was super dirty and stained. The "water cups" had water stains. The "cold water" was luke warm.We couldn't go in the pool.DO NOT GO HERE!

Great price and comfortable room. But what stood out was the hospitality of the owner. I went to the front desk in the evening to ask if there was any food with in walking distance, and the owner offered to give me a ride to a place about a mile away. Incredible hospitality! Also provided a complimentary breakfast and wait till you seat to cook the eggs. Great place to stay!

It's Under New Management. And it has a lot of potential. First of all the beds are really nice and that's what the most important. The pool water is clean. The people who run the place or very nice. I can't wait to see what they've done to the place in a year.So I'm back here 2 months later because the man was so nice. But seriously roaches are falling from the ceiling. I'm staying here because my wife is sleeping, she's fully exhausted Otherwise we would have left already!The pools are very nice. Everything is okay. Except for the three kinds of roaches that live here with you.

Obvious that the room was not thoroughly cleaned. Glasses at the sink showed other's lip marks. Bed has dingy covers and very flat sheets. Makes me wonder if there are bedbugs. Water doesn't drain from the tub when one showers. Has plugins for devices. Refrigerator, iron and board. Way too much money for the type of room. Is in the middle of no where, so is little choice. Drive a bit further to Brawley for a better experience. Also there is only one restaurant in town: a donut shop/Mexican.

It's not a horrible place...But the description online is seriously out of date. The pool is full of algae and the restaurant closed sometime ago. However, the room was clean and comfortable. A bit pricey at 80 bucks but they know they're the only game in town. Truck parking if you need it. It could be worse. The owners are very friendly. The pizza at the store a block away was in expensive and very good.

This place is amazing!! We stayed in one of the suites and we had one of the best times of our lifes! The New Owners are doing a great job putting this place together! Very clean !! We will always come here for our valley stay! We love the Dove suite! Recommend you stay there! Beds are very comfortable! The room hadn't been cleaned at all. Dirty carpet, bed and bathroom. Towel bar was broken and on the floor, refrigerator didn't work and couldn't keep our food. Had to ask for a coffee pot, it was dirty. Overpriced for what we got!

Called about a room and was told to come by, there is availability. Office door didn't open properly, should have been our first clue. Got a room with 2 beds and before unloading everything I went to make sure it was suitable. There was dried blood on the sheets of one bed. Ugh. So I got out my UV light to see if it was worth just sleeping on the bed but in a sleeping bag. The UV light revealed all layers, cover to mattress, was stained extensively with signs of bed bug activity (none actually seen since it was daytime.) Went to office and spoke with a woman, and she said we could have one of the suites for the same price. I asked if I could inspect it first, she said yes. Went to inspect the the man came with and literally flipped out that I was using the UV light. Yelling at me that he obeys gov't standards and I had no right to do that. We said we wanted a refund (paid in cash) and he refused to return $30 of our money and said it was for labor in remaking the beds. Ugh. Offered to remake the beds and he said no, he wanted that cash. Fine. We left. On a side note, there is a feedlot in the area and you can't get away from the smell.
