Very healthy fish. I have never came home with a sick or dying fish. The couple who run this business have a lot of knowledge and their knowledge has helped us at being very successful. I still have fish alive from them that I bought 5 yrs ago. Now we are starting a new 75 gallon tank and all my fish will come from here again! Highly recommended!

Had to replace an old leaking 75 gallon tank. Called around for prices and brands. Got quotes . John and Jenny at Shillingtons Aquarium had the best prices and definitely the knowledge to go along. John took the time to refresh my memory on how to do a fresh startup. Answered many questions and concerns. I would highly recommend Shillingtons.

Stopped by this place and am beyond impressed. Tanks are clean, fish are bright and healthy. Very well put together shop. I have spent my whole life in this hobby and still learned a lot from John the owner. This shop has been around since 1969. I'm so glad I got to see it. Even was able to purchase some vintage aquarium decor prices from the 80's and 90's. This is a destination store. Don't miss it.Update: went again a year later and was better than ever. Thanks John glad I got the 4 Congo tetras adapting well to the 90 cube tank love them one if my favorite fishes . Great place to get fish and supplies thanks for the tip on the baby brine shrimp for the baby angels and new frozen food you recommended.(Highly recommend) this place also your wife is great too . Great advice and hospitality. Every Time I came in I keep saying get the Congo tetras and glad you kept them together they love to school and keep mostly low so I believe you that it’s a rare chance they will jump out of open cube tank . Thanks again been coming to you since the 80 tees .Finally did a review .

This is a very nice local owned pet store specializing in aquariums, pet fish, and accessories. My daughter wanted some Glo Fish so we went down and picked up this trio. They have been happy in there new home for weeks now. The owner and his wife are very kind and helpful. Definitely will be going back to get some cardinal tetras or tiger barbs.

Awesome place. I've been coming here for years, the owner and his wife are great and they take really good care of their fish and tanks. I've had aquariums over the years and i always go to Shillington for my fish, they are healthy and clean. He will also take your fish if you decide to take down your aquarium. My dad brought me here when i was a kid and now I'm able to bring my son here and he LOVES it.The owner is a true pro on aquariums, you can tell he loves what he does.If i could give higher then 5 stars i would.

DO NOT TRUST THIS STORE! The owner is just trying to make a quick buck. Should've stuck to the rules, when I asked if he could please feed some fish before buying them, his response was "no it will stress them out." How is feeding fish stressing them out? First red flag to stay away. I bought them anyway against my better judgement.Sure enough, the fish never ate no matter what I tried. He knew that, he was just trying to make a sale on me. He'll tell you anything at the store to get you to buy something. Prototypical scam business. But then his true colors show. Even called him back after the 1 week mark and at the 3 week mark. Blamed everything on me and also refused to let me return them and hung up on me. Because to him the well-being of the livestock is less important than his money. STAY AWAY!

Saltwater selection is slim only a handful of fish, freshwater fish had better stock. All around mediocre experience. Much better places to get your aquarium needs around.

The owner was very helpful. We purchased a larger tank with a complete set up. I had a lot of questions and he took the time with me and answered every one of them. He took all the items apart and showed me how to put them back together again and patiently. His business has a huge variety of different species of fish And aquariums. Wait followed all of his instructions on our set up and everything went smoothly. He said hes been in business over 36 years. I highly recommend him and will continue to be his new customer.

The owner, (John), is not as knowledgeable as I once thought. Sold me some discus and told me the only food I should feed them is blood worms. He claimed they could go for days without food without issue, (I was leaving town for a few days). Well after following his advice, I found all my discus dead upon my return.Another odd thing he claims is that any artificial scents or fresheners used anywhere in my house will kill my fish ... HOGWASH ! I have since gone to another shop and have used scents without issue ... it's been 3 years now ... no issues. In my opinion John thinks he knows more than he actually does. His shop is clean and fish are healthy, but his advice should be taken with a grain of salt in my opinion. Ultimately you should do your own research ... don't depend too heavily on advice from owners like John.

All I can say , is I’ve been to over 40 fish stores in California , had three tanks before I moved to Texas. John was best of them all in Cali. I never had issues. John always provided knowledge , guidance and sold nothing but healthy fish. If you live locally. There is one simple rule to having a successful fish tank. Fresh water or saltwater. Buy from John. Listen to John, and use his guidance . I recently just moved to Texas and started up another 90 gallon coral saltwater tank. No issues again. Why because everything I do. I leaned from John when living in California. I still swing by every time I visit from Texas. Because it’s always nice too keep current and see how they are doing. People make all the difference.

This place is a rare gem. The owner John and his Wife are Amazing. They have a huge 640 galon tank of beautiful fish. He's got an amazing variety and good prices. He takes pride in his business and the fish are well loved. When we get ready to set up our tank we will only deal with this place. My children enjoyed the shop. John was even very entertaining. He clapped and ran around the tank. The fish followed him like children playing on a playground. We will definitely be back.

Very friendly mom and pop store, Boss takes amazing care of both the people and the aquatic friends that enter his store. Great supply store for all your aquarium needs, unlike big box stores, they really try to give you the best advice and suggestions that they can to ensure you're well taken care of. This isn't even my local store, these guys are nearly 40 minutes from my home, yet they're my absolute favorite "local" store. Will probably be a customer for as long as I can there.

The owner is very knowledgeable. They have an awesome selection- so much so that I make the trek from the Coachella Valley to shop here. If you're looking for unique additions to your aquarium that you won't find at a big box pet store, look no further. The fish that I have purchased here are all still healthy and happy even after the long drive home. Two thumbs up.

Bought a small aquarium from them… followed their instructions but all the fish died. Bought new fish from another store and 4 of them died. The light to it is so strong it created algae on the sides in two weeks! Cleaned it and called to return it and was YELLED at and HUNG UP on! Bad bad customer service plus the 5 gallon tank with accessories was 200.00! They refused the return.

hand picked best fish, one of the few places that just don't say 5 of those and 10 of those. Every fish is literally handpicked because they look the strongest like how we (the customers) pick them. The owner and his wife are very serious about their business and fish's well being. If you aren't a snowflake and open to honesty about the well being of your fish, best place to go! If your fish dies he literally wants you to save it and bring in a water sample and the frozen fish to better your water quality. They take this stuff seriously! Discount on Thursdays and a cool dog in there. 20 stars if I could!
