I've been taking my pets here since I moved to Cal City last year. Last couple times I've gone it's been to check for possible UTI or to see why my dog was limping. Both times I was handed an astronomical bill that included services that easily weren't required. The staff recently left my male dog unattended and muzzled, where he proceeded to rip his dew claw off trying to remove the muzzle. We also waited hours to get a call to come pick him up without any update until we asked and they said they had to take an urgent appointment. The vet blamed my dog for the injury and said that his fear of them is a behavioral issue that requires training. I explained that he has trauma from being a meat farm rescue from overseas, but that he's never had an issue with any other vet before. They even suggested that I pay to have him sedated so they can trim his nails. I just took him to our local groomer instead who always says he does great with nail trims. Needless to say, we're heading to a different vet from now on. Run, don't walk away from this place!

So happy to have found the doctor and staff of Cal City Pet Clinic. They fixed another doctor’s mistake and helped my dog to a full recovery! The level of care they provided my dog was amazing. Now all my pets have a new doctor and I couldn’t be happier!

I came here on an urgent basis only. Because they fit my fur child in I give three stars. Other than that my bill seemed astronomically high with no diagnosis after extensive testing and bloodwork. What blows my mind is with all the money they are making they are not equipped with the latest technology for diagnostic radiology imaging.Also, all the clocks in the lobby and near the front desk were way off time or not working at all. It was very hard to understand the doctor because of her accent and had to try and decipher what she was trying to say. They do seem very greedy and take advantage of the major doctor shortage in surrounding areas as well as being the only veterinarians in Cal City.

We took our baby to them for cremation she had an accident. They were very respectful about it and comforting they allowed us time to say goodbyes

I was traveling away from home when my dog started showing signs of a UTI. Dr Talleyrand was very helpful, compassionate and thorough with her exam and got us back on the road again. My dog has fully recovered. Thank You, Dr.

They were absolutely amazing! My dog was looking rough to say the least and they took her in right away. If it wasn't for their swiftness and care she probably wouldn't have made it.

My mother Mary C. took her dog Sunny which is part chihuahua and jack russell terrier in to have an exam, bloodwork and a teeth cleaning done. The procedures and care that she received from the Dr. and his staff while she was there were exceptional. Thank you again. I would highly recommend California City Pet Clinic.

Friendly staff but prices are way too high, After talking to friends that have used their services & reading reviews from other sites I'm not sure if they can even be trusted. & Questionable if they even do what they charge you for. Good luck if you request details of what they did for your pet. Read reviews from other review sites. I just did & it's Not good. I highly suggest that you take your pet elsewhere. It will be worth the drive

This vet should be stripped of their license, they charge about $100.00 too much to put an animal to sleep, and on what planet are they allowed to charge 100 dollars to get your pets body back for burial? This is disgraceful and very un professional! I'm going to contact the governing board for vets and see what they say about this uncaring approach to pet care. DISGRACEFUL!!!

I had numerous bad pet visits at this vet. But the latest and the worse was when I took my dog over to have his eye examined and swelling on his head. The vet told me it could be up to five different things. Cancer was never on that list. He said we can start with one test at a time and check them off as we go. After I received how much this was going to cost I decided to go to a Lancaster vet where he had prior leg surgery done for a second opinion. When this vet walked into the room he knew immediately what the problem was. My 7 year old best friend had cancer and only 4 weeks to live. To think of all I would have put him through in the last month of his life if I would have listened to the Cal City Vet. I will never bring a pet there again except maybe to neuter a cat.Maybe not even then.

They were able to get our dog in to see them the same day called. Explained everything in detail and sent us home with meds. Great service!

This place is expensive. I have pet insurance and I wanted them to be my vet for one of my dogs but nope. They cost way too much. And for what? Because they’re the only vet in the area? I hope they have some competition very soon. But until they do, I will continue to take my dogs to Lancaster where you can afford to take care of your pets properly because their place is out for money. They don’t care if your pet is ok. They just want your money and I don’t want to do business with a place that makes me feel that way. Especially when I have other options. It’s crazy how people get into a field where they are supposed to help and they don’t. There are so many other ways to make money but some people prey on people and I feel like that’s what this place does. They understand that people love their pets and they take advantage of that with their pricing. That’s how I feel and I’m taking my pets back there. I didn’t even make it past the front desk. I left and took my dog miles away because I was not ok with the prices they were giving me. I was thinking who do you think you are? A celebrity pet doctor or something? It’s wild for them to charge those prices and think it’s ok.

Good place but they overcharge on over the counter items such as skin ointment spray, blue diluted solution. They charged me $30 for a small 2-4oz bottle of blue cleansing solution which they packaged, when the exact solution is available online in a gallon bottle for about $13.00!!! Same with the antibiotic skin spray. The 2oz bottle they sell for $35 is available online in a 4oz bottle for $15.00!!! Way too much markup on these items. That’s my recent experience.

I would never never bring my animals here. They don't allow you to go in with pets. I'm not sure they even check over your pet they charge you and tell you 3 to 5 things that can be wrong with your pet even though they know exactly what's wrong with your pet. When you deny a big bill that won't tell you anything that they see even if your pet can die. They need to be closed down and some other veterinarian should run this place and fire every one here. They are disgusting
