It was a great experience for me and my in laws adopting some dogs. We got three brothers and they're super sweet. Although they got out once, she was very helpful and we found them. She answered any questions I had for getting my first dog and it was great working with her to get these dogs. It was just $100 each which included their neuters and first shots. Very happy with the service.

I had a great experience while I was there! So good that I even adopted. And the facilities seemed clean and professional. They even have a "Dog Park" where you can take the pupps to see how they behave and react. The cost of adoption and spay or neuter is very very low the county pays the fees. You basically just pay to license and Chip. My dog is so glad to finally be "Home"

They were great with finding a wonderful cat friendly dog that was also good with our 1st pup. The whole process was straight forward, fast and easy. Everyone was patient and friendly, we may be coming back for another cat soon :) Ace (previously known as rocky) is very happy!

So rude ! Can’t complete a sentence without being cut off with a smart mouth response & an automatic attitude, like why work there if you hate your job. The first time I’ve ever needed to call & the customer service is disgusting. Made me completely lose interest in adopting a pet from their shelter.

Honestly this is the most safe place for found and lost pets to be in the community. The staff cares and is just as worried about the lost/found/stray population as everyone else is.This is a resource to the community, they offer more then just a safe place for the pets to sleep they also microchip pets.Please especially here in the desert consider microchipping your furry friends! It is important to be able to have a contact link above a collar to get your pet back to you!Thank you cal city pet outreach for all that you do.

Went to the Cal City Animal Shelter to partake in the #BettyWhiteChallenge. Had a wonderful conversation with the lovely lady that not only treats all the dogs there with love but she explained to me how she spent Christmas Eve & Day with the dogs there in the shelter. Nice to see that those dogs may not have a fur-ever home YET. But are loved either way 🧡💛💚💙💜 🐕 🐕‍

Worst experience ever! The old woman who works there is the rudest most disrespectful person on the face of this earth. She will downgrade you and make you feel like you are the issue when you’re trying to do something good for the animal by dropping it off at a “safe haven” for the animal. Never again will l dropping a animal off at this trash hole of a so-called “shelter”.

Last place you should be adopting an animal. Government entity The doesn’t properly care for animals. California city animal control is an embarrassment. Government employees just trying to steal from our taxes.

We adopted our dog here last year and had a great experience. The staff was friendly. The shelter seemed to be at full capacity the day we went and the staff was working very hard to care for the animals. The adoption process was efficient. So many deserving pets that need homes here please consider this shelter!

This place is horrible! Go to Mojave animal shelter, they actually know how to treat dogs. I adopted a husky from here and had a great experience although we returned to adopt another dog, bringing him home he was agressive and bit me so I returned him. While returning him I recieved negativity and rude comments directed towards me for bringing him back. I simply stated I could not have a agressive dog in my household. He wouldn’t let my other dogs eat and he would growl constantly. The shelter then felt the need to publicly post on Facebook that his adopter was irresponsible and didn’t give him a chance. Worst experience! If you want immaturity, negitivity, and rudeness then California city shelter is where to find it! I recommend Mojave’s, it’s free for military, they treat their dogs so much better, and it’s a legit shelter.
