We first came here because it was close to some hot springs we'd been told to check out. We loved it so much that we extended our stay immediately. Our wedding was a little over a year away, and when our original venue fell through, we switched to this place. They were so accommodating to us and our guests. We were able to set up our dream wedding, and everybody had a wonderful time. Thank you so much to the staff here. You have one of the best hotels we've ever been to. It's affordable, clean, comfortable, packed with amenities, and the food at the restaurant is great. I cannot recommend this place any more. It's one of our new favorite getaway spots, and we have perfect wedding memories now. I'm looking forward to many more visits over the years. Thank you again!Rooms: Several types of rooms/cabins, some with private bathrooms and others using a shared (well-stocked and very clean) bathroom. It's camp-style but the most comfortable I've ever been to.Nearby activities: Hot springs are a very short drive from the hotel.

Amazing little stop near Bridgeport! Rooms are amazingly rustic while still being updated with plenty of cable stations, mini fridge, excellent heating. Exceedingly comfortable beds. The restaurant is phenomenal, with a delicious menu of Italian and burgers. Garlic bread was great! They have a little back deck and multiple chairs & lounge rockers near the creek. Really cool spot, just kinda isolated. I am stopping on the way to Tahoe. Would recommend to anyone and I'm sure the fishing and creek access is much better during summer

Swap rooms for food as we enjoyed the restaurant. We were greeted by a friendly gentleman who seemed like he might own the place. There was definitely something about him that said " it makes me happy to serve you and I want your experience to be positive". The food we ordered was very good and that may have caused us to eat nore than we should have. But hey when you're on vacation you're supposed to splurge a bit. Go give this cute little restaurant a try and I promise you won't be disappointed.

Had dinner here after a long ski day. The owners were so nice, and the food was reasonably priced for the massive portions they give you. So glad we found this place driving along, because it wasn't listed as a restaurant on Google maps! Highly recommend for anyone passing along the 395.

This is a magical place. Old-school rustic cabins with a homey clean comfortable feel. The owners make you feel like family. Virginia Creek is amazing with trout and specs of gold. I’m pretty sure we found a piece of gold! The restaurant is fun and the food is delicious. There’s so much to do in the area, hiking, hot springs etc. The eastern Sierra Nevada is a special place and a hidden gem.Rooms: are perfect and homey and clean. Minimalistic and enough. The best part is the little gift bag with Smore’s, coffee and bag of food to feed the trout.Food & drinks: A wide range, including gluten-free and healthy salads.Noteworthy details: Lots of fun details, pictures, antiques, things to make you laugh, games, makes you feel like you’re back in the gold rush era.

What a cute western themed motel. We were driving down from Reno to LA on the 395 and found this gem along the way. Reasonable prices for the night, the room was like a snug log cabin, with a bear themed quilt and John Wayne pictures gracing every wall. The bed was surprisingly comfortable with a pillow top. There is some noise from the street, but not unexpected given that it is a motel along the highway. The restaurant was quaint as well, covered in signs with nuggets of wisdom like “no woman ever shot a man while he was doing the dishes”. We had a beer the night we got in and chatted with some fly fisherman. In the morning we got the breakfast which I would fully recommend. Chorizo and eggs and country potatoes. I would definitely stay again should I be passing through. Thanks!

We visited the restaurant for dinner, had a yummy steak dinner & a huge chicken cesar salad. Decided to go for breakfast the next morning, it was super busy, yet the service was great & coffee was kept full so the wait was no problem & the banana bourbon pancakes were enough for 2 & fantastic. We ended up there by chance the next night & had a pizza with such good crust, just overall fantastic tasting pizza & again great service! Made our Bridgeport stay that much better:)

This is my secret vacation spot. You have hotsprings nearby, a restaurant on site, a creek,& fire 🔥 pits. The complimentary smores hits the spot for that late nite snack! Rooms are warm with heaters. Bed comfy with LOTS of covers.Rooms: Cute, big beds, and warm fuzzy blanketsNearby activities: South is mammoth north is the hotsprings & town.Food & drinks: The restaurant is worth trying, like once or all your stay. The chef in me let's loose & their pizza is so worth it! The coffee in the morning is worth waking up to, but the service is Amazing

We received a great welcome with a few little gifts to make our experience even more unique, including some marshmallows and chocolate to melt by the fire pit. The staff are very friendly. The rooms in the cabins are equipped with heating if needed at night, and the beds are comfortable. Games are available if you want in the garden. To be honest, we weren't expecting much, and it turned out to be a superb experience. I recommend it 100%!

Have stayed here once before and was very pleased. This stay was sub-par. Our cabin room 14 had a heater that made us bolt out of bed it was so loud and clanking. The restaurant was just OK. Our last stay it was delicious. It appeared that our omelets had pancake batter mixed in this stay. We weren't impressed and didn't finish them.

Food was more delicious than expected 😋. Gluten-free pizza crust was best ever! Has the BBQ pineapple and bacon, it was loaded. He has rib eye and for a steak conasuer he was very happy. Oh and don't forget to try the APPLE DUMPLING WITH CHOCOLATE ICE CREAM!!! We will stop again next time we come through !!! So fabulous! Sorry no pics, left phone in truck.

We stayed at Virginia creek twice, once on our way south, then on the way north on 395.We stayed in one of the hotel style rooms. #1 had slightly less road noise than #3 due to the configuration. A staff member told us the newer cabins were the quietest. The room was very neat and clean, and the bed comfortable. It was very pleasant sitting on our back deck listening to the creek a few feet away.We ate two dinners and one breakfast. The dinner portions were huge so you might consider the smaller offerings listed towards the back of the menu. We had pizza for the second dinner, it was amazing. The pizza was recommended by somebody living in Independance! Breakfast was quite good also.Nearby activities: Closest lodging to Bodie.

Stopped for breakfast and so glad we did! Very clean. Sat out on the patio with the pup ♡ Service/staff were absolutely wonderful and friendly! The pancakes are HUGE!! We had a spread of chicken fried steak, banana Nutella crepes, and French toast. It was all delicious, came out hot and timely. We will be back! The grounds are adorable...motel, small cabins and wagon tents. Each looked to have a little fire pit, seating and easy access to the stream. Though we didn't stay the night, we did take a little stroll of the grounds.

My friend and I were road tripping and stopped here for the night. We had arrived late so we had a yummy bowl of soup for dinner at the restaurant. The service staff was friendly and good. The room was clean, comfortable and cozy. Even quiet for being next to the highway. We were given stuff to make s’mores at the fire pit but we were too tired to do so. Would have been nice to enjoy that. Next morning we had a tasty breakfast at the restaurant and chatted with the owner who is very nice.I would definitely stay here again when traveling along Hwy395.

We loved this place. We know it might not be everyones cup of tea but its a great place. The property is well maintained, everyone was super friendly and helpful. We were planning on just staying the night and heading out early. But we really enjoyed the area with our 18th month old that we stay till after checkoutThe place was clean and there was a lot of nice thoughtful touches on the property. You can tell the owners take pride in this place.Only negative I would say is if you are a light sleeper some of the units are closer to the road and you can hear cars and trucka throughout night. Earplugs would take care of it!

I didn't get to enjoy my stay, because the man who brought me felt it was a good place to break up with me. But I love the area, the cabin was super cute, and loved the rushing creek. All the old-school photos. I would recommend it because I know there is side-by-side riding in the area. I am trying to figure out where. The young lady inside was super nice. Great for a family or a single person. I would love to come another time.

Very nice, rustic and old-timey settlement. Staff are all very great and helpful and the campsite itself is cozy and quaint, even though the sounds coming from the adjacent road can be a bit of an annoyance sometimes (it's mostly quiet during the night though). The shared restrooms and showers are nice and clean, although some of the locks can be opened from the outside with a little bit of force, which in my opinion is a real no-go in a shared setting like this (also I've noticed this being a very common problem in general with shared bathrooms in the US utilizing "Home-Style" door locks). Apart from that the site is well equipped and maintained. There are a couple of public grills, fireplaces, tables and places to sit down and the wifi is surprisingly reliable for such a rural campsite. It seems that a lot of love and attention went into the design of the whole area and the huts. The location next to the river is really beautiful and laid back, even though the river attracts a lot of mosquitoes.Rooms: The huts are pretty small but big enough for sleeping. The beds are comfortable and different types of blankets are provided. There's no TV or anything, but at least two power outlets are there. There could be more in my opinion, as two of the heaters will already take up both of them. Our unit had three heaters in total, one of them being gas powered. There's no room service or anything, but you shouldn't be expecting that from a place like this anyways. Overall the huts are pretty cozy and get the job done very well, even though they're missing some of the more modern comforts.Nearby activities: The two only noteworthy attractions in the area (in my opinion) are the Ghost town of Bodie and Mono lake. Especially Bodie is a must see when staying here.Safety: The huts are electronically locked with a code and the area seems really safe to me. Although there aren't any advanced security measures (except for locking your door) I wouldn't expect any theft, as there are almost always other people around and the owners would probably notice someone trying to sneak in from the outside at night.Walkability: There's really nothing of interest, except for regular nature, accessible by foot. There's a road right next to the place, which is pretty much the only place to realistically access it from.Food & drinks: The place has a restaurant. It generally stays in the price range of the area, while still being pretty expensive. I haven't tried it, but I'd expect it to be pretty good for the price. If you're planning on travelling in this area economically, my advice would be to buy the groceries you'll need before coming here and cooking for yourself. A shared kitchen and grills are available. If you're travelling from another state, like Nevada, you should probably take advantage of cheaper alternatives there in order to avoid Californian pricing coupled with this being a very rural area.

Restaurant: 5* Very good burgers!!! Friendly staff, good food, large choice of drinks. Don't miss it!Hotel: 4*: We stayed upstairs from the restaurant, so the road was partially a bit noisy, but otherwise it was clean and fine. There are cabins further from the street which are probably quieter. Very friendly staff.

Loved this cute place! We stayed in one of the motels and it's cabin style. The couple who runs the place were super friendly and welcoming. The room we stayed in was very cozy and inviting. Lots of comforters and such. Clean and cute bathroom. And a little porch out back that faces the rushing river. It was such a nice spot to getaway for the evening. I would definitely go back and check out some of their other amenities as they had what looked like campgrounds as well and their little restaurant that we didn't get the chance to try. They also have a little fish breeder project where they breed the local fish and release them back into the rivers to help the population. It's really pretty cool.Rooms: Super clean, quiet, and cozy!
