We have been going to Doc and Al's for many years and miss the cabin camping experience. Loved the new beds. Loved that the staff cared a lot about our comfort and that our stay was a pleasant one. It was like coming back home.Noteworthy details: The cabin's were clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. If you needed something all you had to do was ask.

Our stay in the Chalet was amazing to see all the improvements that were made. We could see the pride this younger generation is taking in running this resort. We are looking forward to another 40+ years staying at the resort. The new management and staff are 2nd to none.Thank you and looking forward to making many new memories at your resort.

We rented one of the small rustic cabins for the first time (we usually tent camp), and it was very nice. It was more comfortable than a tent, but it still felt like camping with all the cooking being done outside on a stove or bbq. We were nice and warm when sleeping. Staff is very welcoming and friendly. Would definitely do it again.

I went here years ago when I was younger with my parents and I had a wonderful time there I still remember and it is a nice place to stay, We camped there we brought camping equipment along with a I believe it was a tent/trailer and we had relatives along with us they were my Aunt and Uncle on my mom's side and we all had a wonderful time there we stayed there for about a week and the service was good the facilities were nice and we were able to fish swim as well as do whatever else there was to do there while we stayed there. All in all we had a great time and I highly recommend it. and also it is close to some good hunting grounds if you like hunting but mainly there is great fishing there.

After reading all the reviews, seeing all the pictures and speaking to the wonderful host several times while working on our summer vacation plans I knew I wanted my family to stay here. We are a family with four children and our nine year old is disabled, scoots on the floor when she is not in her wheelchair and she had a grand time! Everyone was friendly and family oriented, we get weird looks everywhere we go but no one here looked at her any different. Six months later my three year old still pretends that he sees a deer, and makes camfires in our backyard. The host complimentary upgraded us to a two bedroom cabin and it was rustic, cozy and very charming. After spending four nights here I understand why people have been coming here for decades. I'm working on planing another trip there now, so that my family will be saying the same thing. The whole city is very friendly and laid back, I definitely recommend anyone wanting to disconnect from the world (literally because cell phone service is not happening unless you come down a few miles.... But you won't miss the no service!) connect with nature, and breathe fresh air to come here for a few days! I didn't want to leave and even started looking to see if any homes were for sale!

Highly disappointed. This was the worst camping experience I've ever had in the 27 years I've been hiking and backpacking all over the country. I've been camping with my family at Doc and Al's most of my life and always had a great time, even though the campsites are kind of close-it didn't matter. There's great fishing an hiking all over. This experience was different. It started with some invasive/rude neighbors who poorly communicated, the staff was not helpful at all when we needed it , and last but not least the main manager Julie. Julie was friends with our invasive neighbors so of course we were made out to be the bad guys when any problems arose. Lots of problems arose. Our neighbors took up two campsites with two 25 foot trailers, three giant tents, five cars, and about 15 people. It looked and sounded liked a tailgating party. Our campsite and personal space was invaded. I personally try to stay as considerate as I can when camping so close, so everybody has a good time. These people were different. They were defensive from the beginning and up to the end when one of the women yelled at my mom, "do you have a problem!", while she was waiting for me to put my shoes on so we could go on a walk. From there a physical fight between the neighbors almost broke out. Absolutely horrible. The younger man working there is the son of the main manager Julie, so there was no point in letting manager know because they were all friends and family!Absolutely terrible management and I will never be recommending anyone there again.

Great place, its been our annual vacation spot for many years, as most of us who go there.I love to talk it up but hate to share this gem to the public as it is already hard enough to get the annual roll overs to give up there cabins so I can get the bigger ones lol. Growing up we've always had the willow cabin, now I have my own family and we stay in one of the rustics, which are still awesome. Its just so beautiful to wake up under those towering pine trees and sip on coffee and hear the creek flowing. Its also a pleasure to see fellow campers year after year. So if your friendly happy campers/fisherman families I highly recommend.

Julie and the family are the best host ever. The cabins aren't all fancy and ish, but they're always clean when you get there. It's so beautiful here. I love my Rustic #8 that opens up to Robinsons creek. My favorite place to get away.

Fun getaway in a beautiful area. I've been here 5 or 6 times over the years and it has not changed one bit, literally. Amazing lake fishing near by and a seasonal stream just feet away. The cabins are really rustic but that just adds to the appeal of this area.

I have been camping in the Twin Lakes area of Bridgeport, CA. for over 30 years. First with my parents and then later with my Uncle. Once I was of age I started going myself and making it a annual trip. I have stayed in every camp ground in the area. Doc & Al's provides the cleanest and well provided base camp location in the area. I have stayed and gone backpacking, trail blazing, horse back riding, been there for the 4th of July, when it has snowed and rained and been 98* .... In the past 14 years I have stayed at Doc & Al's to include this next week I will be leaving for a 10 day trip. I highly recomend if your in the area pitch your tent at Doc & Al's. FYI they have Motor Home space / cabins / trailers also available Check them out you wont be sorry.

Nice, peaceful, clean, and friendly Campground. First visit to Bridgeport and the 4th of July holiday. Charming parade and amazing fireworks. We even got to see a bear meander through the campsite!

We had a mouse infestation in the trailer we had rented. This was not one mouse. They were in the cupboards in unopened food , they were on the counters and one decided to sit by my head while I was laying on the couch. This was happening with the lights on. Sometimes these things happen in the woods. The problem really occurred when we informed the young man running the campground. He was insulting, rude and did not even look into the situation before telling us just to pack up and leave. It was the worse experience I have encountered in my travels.

It is a great place to to go, my family and me go there and I have been going there since I was about two or three years old and now I am twelve, and my great- grandparents have been going for at least 48 years and my great-grandpa helped build the foundation of the pines cabin. The fishing is also good, and I look foreword to going there for many years to come!!!

Great combination of a real camp feel with the comforts of beds, kitchen and campfire on a beautiful high country stream. Managed very well, great prices and close to everything. My version of “heaven on earth”.
