My car broke down in front of this deli and I had to wait few hours for my friends to come pick me up. The deli owners were the kindest and warmest people I met. They let me and my friends stay in, where we could be warm and safe, even after closing time . We had delicious food here , the broccoli cheddar soup was the best!

We were so pleased when we came across this store to grab some sandwiches on our way to Bodie. We have been driving for many hours and did not see any other viable options for lunch. The store is small, but seems to have a little bit of everything. We ordered deli sandwiches and the staff working in the deli were very friendly and made delicious sandwiches for us. It was our first time to Bridgeport and we were very surprised to find such a quaint and cute little town.

Bridgeport general store is just that, a general store in a very small community. The only other choice are the gas station convenience stores. This door is much more well stocked it's a variety of items and the sandwich counter. I was actually there on a recent Saturday for their local car show. There were about 2 dozen cars. Quite fun.

This review is a little different! I wasn't at the store to buy anything, but sure glad I stopped. On March 23, 2021, my buddy & I were on a 6 day motorcycle adventure. By the time we hit Bridgeport, we'd been riding in sub-freezing temps for over 2 hours, and I couldn't feel my hands. Desperate for some place to warm up, we entered the General Store. The clerk was sympathetic and friendly. He welcomed us to warm up around the wood-burning stove at the back of the store. He also found a cup of coffee for us. The store appears to be well organized and has most things you'd need. This store is a gem, and a WARM place to stop!

I recently stayed in Bridgeport for a few days in early March, and as I discovered... Main St can be quite "the ghost town" and a challenge to personally replenish those much needed calories, but no worries, there is the General Store...right there on that infamous Main St. As you enter in the classic front door, you'll feel as if you've traveled back in time. I'm not kidding...but you'll love every minute in there as you stroll the aisles. New owners, (Bridgeport Indian Colony) and managed by "Anne" who keeps a very clean and tidy store for you, and also greets ya with a hearty smile and Hello as you enter! They have quite the selection of your basic needs, a good inventory of food, supplies, books, and best of all?!?! They have a DELI in back (and it's OPEN!!!), which serves up the best coffee and breakfast burritos in the whole wide world!! OMG 💪 Perfect way to start your morning as you sit and sip on that sidewalk bench right out front there... waiting just for you. The morning sun here with your chorizo and coffee is pure bliss. Yes...you have arrived ✔️

After spending $16 on the tiniest breakfast burrito across the street, I was determined to not get hosed again. Luckily, the reviews here were correct! A great $7 breakfast burrito literally twice the size, was in the warmer and ready for pick up! Staff was super friendly, too.

I visited this store yesterday and my experience was, for the most part, really great. Everything was well stocked, and the employees were super nice. The only issue I had was that the store felt super hot and humid to the point that it was uncomfortable in there. This was especially frustrating on a hot summer day

They may not have the biggest or best selection of products, but we're not in the big city now, are we folks? For a small town like this it's a perfectly serviceable market with a decent selection of a lot of things you might need to put together lunch or dinner or just drinking supplies. A moderately decent selection of beers, a couple of ciders and a pretty decent liquor selection. For a small town kind of out in the middle of nowhere, the prices are pretty reasonable.

Very poorly stocked shelves, all milk products were expired. They could stand to make so $$ if they had a decent selection of anything. The general store in twin lakes was fantastic. Sometime to strive to.

We bought several items. The cashier entered the prices of all these items manually into his calculator and asked us to pay. I paid with my credit card. He then took some money out of his register and put them into the tip box. As I felt that something was wrong (and the price was quite high), I asked for a receipt, but he only gave me the credit card payment voucher. So it seems he scammed us.

I have no idea how this store has been rated so high in the past, perhaps locals who want to be kind to the owners? Well being from WAY out of town and staying in the area my girlfriend's and I stopped here to pick up groceries for two days. They have absolutely NO selection, their produce is gross, and everything is overpriced. We were so put off as we were walking around the store by the general uncleanliness and rudeness of the staff that we asked if there was any other place to buy groceries close by. A woman working up front told my sister the closest store was an hour an a half away. We begrudgingly brought what we could and made our way to our b&b. When we got there we began unloading and discovered what looked like coffee grounds in the bottom of every one of the paper bags and a dead cockroach in the last bag. For those of you who don't know, when someone has a major roach infestation their droppings look like little piles of coffee grounds. We even found them in our 6 pack of beer at the bottom. And after all of that the woman who rented us our b&b told us that there is a grocery store in Mono on the way to mono lake...only 20 miles away!! We we furious.

Just remember to get most of your shopping done in the bigger towns 50-100 miles in any direction. The selection here is limited, but it's good for refilling your cooler with ice, eggs, and milk. Extremely limited selection on over the counter drugs, foods, and living essentials. Friendly staff and great service, just don't plan on staying in the area without making a stop at a legitimate grocery store first in Mammoth, Reno, or Gardnerville.

Rudest most disrespectful employee on the planet! I was actually glad they didn't have the dog food I needed, which forced us to go to Coleville General Store, which was amazing.I will never step foot inside that store again! I wish I could rate a negative 5!

Been coming to this store for years on our annual campimg trip. We have come to rely on them for any needs we have forgotten. This years trip we were disappointed to find less if a selection than usual. So things have changed. The staff are still great, just not as well stocked as it has been in the past.

My sister is visually impaired so we entered in the back door, which is supposed to be available to disabled people. We were immediately screamed at by an employee who thought she had the right to yell at us for not entering the front door, and not to use the back door. The employee was so rude to us. She told us to sanitize our hands at the front door. That problem could be resolved by putting hand sanitizer at the ADA entrance in the back. It's very difficult for any disabled person to navigate their way to the front of the store, just to sanitize their hands. Whoever set this up needs to redo it, and consider all the people with disabilities who don't have the ease of getting to the front of the store. I will no longer do business with this store. I will take my money elsewhere. ADA means everyone should be treated the same way and have accessibility just like other people without disabilities. It's the law!

Fantastic employees. It does have most of your basics while camping or visiting for the day. Just not a lot. Better to do your bigger shopping in a bigger town and visit this place for restocking, ice, cold drinks etc.

This place is very close 2 my little place of heaven. Small country store with prices 2 match. But when there's no where else or the next market is 1hr & 45 minutes away? U make do. Personal r friendly & there's a little eatery in the back. I will b back.

The tuna salad sandwich was great. The soup was ok, but what was most amazing about this place were the locals that worked here. Theybare welcoming and made us feel like we were locals. Great vibes!

Small, not much there. No meats, cheeses. Limited Vegies, breads unless you need hotdog buns or burger buns. But that’s all you’ll have. Bread, mayo?? No meat. Good selection of beer though! Hard liquor, not so much. Fee name brands for sure. You best come with everything you will need including charcoal.....even firewood. Two small bundles is all they had.. Question, where do the locals shop? Not in Bridgeport....

This store is fantastic!! I have stopped there twice this summer on my way to backpack and they always have what I need. The people working there are really nice and they even mailed me back my credit card, when I forgot it in their chip reader!

This is funny. I haven't been inside the General Store in a few years, but they have always had good service when I have. I drove past it yesterday and parked down the street to have dinner at the Sportsman, which was good.

Friendly staff, but, I ordered meatless tacos from the deli and requested no dairy, only to find sour cream on all 3 tacos. Heartburn at camp is no fun.Sour "cream" = dairy
