This is a nice and clean Safeway store. They have a nice bakery & the deli is also good. The cashiers are always friendly, and they have a nice produce selection. The prices are a little high, but you can find some deals with your Safeway card. They also have a large selection of beer and wine. The lines can sometimes get crazy here, but they do have a lot of self-check out registers.

Nice clean store. Typical layout of most Safeways, so it was easy to find what I wanted.Checkout lines were fast when I was there. Staff was friendly.

Pleasantly surprised this time around. Even though it was the day before Valentines Day the store was TOTALLY stocked with everything I needed and everyone else there seemed surprised at that too.Produce was well arranged, clean and there were produce clerks to help answer questions.Front end was quick AND they even had people bagging for you!!!!I just wish they could keep the front of the store clean. But with the high school across the street I guess that task along with a better stocked liquor and cosmetic department is a bit hard to maintain, and I don't blame them.Good job to whomever the manager is right now it was a GREAT surprise after shopping here for the last 25 years.

Deli customer service sucks and Self-Checkout clerk Tracy service sucks. They do not have great customer service in this location . I think this is the worst Safeway in Brentwood.

This review is based on my experience at the in-store Starbucks. It was a blazing Summer day in Brentwood on 7/1, so I decided to grab a refreshing cold coffee. As I approached the front counter there were two employees preparing drinks for two customers. The staff continued to walk back and forth bypassing me several times with no eye contacts, no “ I’ll be right with you”, no regard at all. Now, I’m not one to throw the racial card on the table when things happen because there could’ve just been a misunderstanding. However, I don’t think this was one of those times. I felt completely disregarded. So much so, that I decided to turn my cart around and proceed to my car to Google map the nearest Starbucks to satisfy my extreme thirst! All that to say and request, management please address/review what good customer service is with your Starbucks staff. Thanks so much!

When buying at Safeway, be a member to avoid outrageous prices. Even then be prepared to pay a bit more. I like their butcher and especially their deals on meat. UPDATE: quality lamb chops, half price for members and another $5 off with a digital coupon - what's not to like!

This is a serviceable Safeway. Today it was a good experience because the employees I interacted with were happy and helpful. This location is smaller and they pack too many displays into the aisles.

Safeway is ok I love their sales but every day items are quite high and if you don't have a card you don't get a sale item the store is run down a bit but the staff is friendly

Great service is provided here may it be the trainee or the supervisor to the people that are in the bakery department,it’s always clean and nice smelling to the point you’d think it’s inspection day everyday .meanwhile why 4stars …?because they don’t have simply almond milk although on the website you are told that it’s in stock but upon entering the produce section to no avail you’re stumped shoulders hunched leaving you to be iba dump..lol !!! Other than that safe way is the safest way for hearty home cooked meals or just a friendly snack….

Peter Kavanaugh is an outstanding General Manager of Safeway Balfour Brentwood California. We have patronized Safeway since moving to California as newlyweds in October 1973. The entire staff of his store are well trained, friendly, personable, and helpful. It's a pleasure doing business at his store.

This safeway is top tier, shelves always stocked, always multiple check stands open and they don't hide items when they have sales like other safeway stores.

This is a pretty darn nice Safeway as things go these days. The facilities are clean and well-kept. Their bakery-deli area is particularly good. It happens to be a good spot for non-meat eaters and ice cream lovers to grab something quick. Check the soup shelf in front and the frozen aisle immediately rear of that. Recently they've done a killer job of keeping lunch like snacks and cold drinks available too.

I normally shop at the Balfour Safeway since it’s closer to my house, but stopped at this one today b/c my Safeway was out of the items I needed. This one didn’t have the brands I wanted, but they had the generics that I needed! But what I really want to comment on is the customer service; incredible!!! The cashier rang me up wrong, and was going to charge me full price for a sale price item when I pointed out the discount would’ve applied to my previous order, so the manager came right over and worked his magic in the friendliest manner and then when I got ready to pay for my *extra item, he pointed out that they owed me money (b/c of the whole missed discount thing from the beginning)! I mean...when was the last time that happened to you in a store??? I was at Home Depot yesterday and the cashier quoted the price of my item through looking it up on her device as $18.99 and then when she typed in the sku on the register, came up $20.00. I pointed it out and she just shrugged and said the other price came up in the computer. Ummm, didn’t you just literally check the computer yourself to find that original $18.99 price?!?!? LOLOLOL. Honestly, it didn’t matter to me b/c it was just a $1.01 difference...but wow! I mean, just the difference between customer service! So even though this Safeway is 7 minutes out of my way, I’m more than happy to stop by here should the occasion arise!

I love it I grew up on East Coast with Safeway that was my store Massachusetts and have not been to a Safeway in about twenty years. I am only shopping at Safeway stores from now on. I just got that feeling from the employees that they are happy they are not rush rush rush like everybody else. Everyone at that store was very personable employees and customers alike. Thanks Safeway for bringing some good memories back.

Store is good to shop at. Just be careful with the speeding that goes on out in the parking lot. Not sure what the hurry is, but a lot of people walk around trying to get to their cars.

I gave 5 stars because the employees are very friendly & the store is clean. If I could give another review of management, it would be 0 star. I was there today & saw a family with NO masks & then another person with NO mask. I even remarked to an employee about this & he said it is supposed to be enforced, but it obviously isn't!!!

I love my little SAFEWAY, it's really not that much more expensive than foodmaxx or Raleys, it depends on what your buying. Foodmaxx is dirty customer service is terrible, I DONT MIND PAYING A BIT MORE TO HAVE GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE, my husband and I are both handicapped so bagging the groceries for me and at least asking if we need help out is very important. Also the QUALITY of foods they carry are fantastic! Such great DEPARTMENTS !

I love our Safeway! Their Customer Service is amazing...always being asked as employees pass by," can I help you find anything", a smile (seen even through their masks) etc.Some to Compliment would be: Nancy,Kelly,Andrea,Heather (meat dept) and the Produce dept. Keep up the good work!

I go to a lot of Safeway's and was an assistant manager for many years and I have always yelled at my Deli to keep cooking hot food until closing box up what you don't sell and put out in cold counter. People get off work normally around 4-7 I asked for chicken tenders around 430 and said they are out everyday this happened for month this is unacceptable sad part is this happens in every Safeway in District 7 first and 2nds need to get on top of their Delis please. Other than that Meat Dept and Produce look great front end is shot everything is everywhere. No customer service and lousy check out times.

We ordered 2 birthday cakes from the bakery. Both cakes were ready when I arrived, paid for too! All I had to do was gently loaded them into the car, and bring them to the party!Don’t forget to buckle up, keep the cakes safe! 😜

It was very hot out today but inside was cool. Alot of people in store but everyone was in masks and keeping distance best they can. Lots of smiles even though you can't see them through the masks their eyes showed it. Good shopping today.

The place is the only grocery store open early in the morning. Items are fresh and always clean inside the store. The doors, both sides of the building, were locked when I came to the store 45 minutes after opening. I tried both sets before proceeding to leave but then I saw a customer walk out, the exit door. I parked, went back to the door but it was still locked. I called the store and they told me, pull the exit door from the outside to get in. Anybody can have a slow start.
