This just be my favorite campground of all the places I’ve stayed in the Western US. It started with the reservation phone call Deborah was so friendly on the phone. Then upon arrival, a quick radio call from the office and a was there to greet us by name. She made sure we got in our spot (which was very spacious and nice) just fine and had all the information we needed, including tips on sites. We really appreciated all the tourist info in the office too. Wait, here comes the best part. The bathrooms are spotless! The pool and hot tub are beautifully maintained! Sunsets and sunrise are gorgeous here! We’ll be back!

RV park is great so clean and beautiful. All the sites are immaculate nice shade trees everywhere. The pool and hot tub are very nice.. We had a great time. Close to the off road adventure are great place to chill or ride.Nearby activities: Near split mountain, blow sands, pumpkin patch lots of fun

We're just finished our third year in a row staying at Leapin' Lizard, and we can't wait to go back. Debra, the owner, is great at asking the right questions to book you into the right spot for your family or group. With full hookups, clean, spacious spots, and really reasonable prices, the campground alone is great. But the amenities, cleanliness and obvious care for the resort make it extra special. They welcome people with toys to ride, but are strict about keeping the park quiet. The way they handle it is perfect. If you have toys, they cannot be run inside the RV area, you must only push them to the off-road entrance/exit. The result is that those of us who don't ride are in a calm, quiet park where kids can ride bikes and run around, while those who do ride have great access to the trails, secure onsite storage for their side by sides, and a great spot to hang out between rides.

Debra, one of the owners, was very friendly and helpful. The property was well kept and organized. The facilities, bathroom/showers, were exceptionally clean and maintained. The night time scenery was fantastic. Dark skies, countless stars. And if you like vacations without disruption from the outside world, there is NO cell service out here, which for us was amazing.

Great park. The owners are very friendly, but also they keep this place immaculate! Even the laundry room is spotless. It’s very relaxing and quiet. The spaces have tree dividers for privacy. We loved our stay.

Very nice small RV park. Full hookups. Sites are close together but have tamarisk trees between them for privacy. They have a pool and solar heated hot tub. Hot tub was covered and not useable during our stay due to broken solar heater and wind storm, but it is a very nice area. Has laundry building. Off reading area very close by. They allow Off road vehicles but have a separate area and you cannot run them in the campground or park them at your site unless you push it in. Deborah, the host was very nice and helpful upon arrival. They DVDs, puzzles and books available in the laundry area for temporary use. We were there during a wind storm so this was appreciated!

I stayed at the Leapin' Lizard last December for a week and absolutely loved it. I had only intended to stay for a night or two but RV parks like this are pretty rare. The owner, Debra keeps a close eye on the facility and even though it is located right in the middle of an off-road area, it is calm and quiet thanks to her supervision. The pool was beautiful as was the hot tub. I like to think I am a pretty good housekeeper but I swear the showers and washroom were cleaner than mine at home. Can't say enough about this little gem of an RV park!

Stayed for 3 weeks. Loved our private pull it surrounded by trees. Debra, our host was very kind and helped me back in when we arrived after dark. I highly recommend this place over the other crowded, overpriced parks.Noteworthy details: Pool and hot tub available. There is a dog park for your doggies, each site has its own lot surrounded by trees.

Absolutely perfect desert RV park. Sites are very large and private. Owners are awesome. The only way this place could be better would be easy access to non-motorized area for hiking. When you make your reservation, you will be given a very honest and straightforward heads-up about the surrounding off-road playground. Weekends and holidays are pretty noisy, but during the week it's typically pretty quiet.

Ohhhh! Myyyy! What a gem. Enclosed with Tamarisk trees, you don't even know you're in the desert, cleanest bathrooms, wide camp spots are neat as a pin, prettiest pool/hot tub area and the most friendliest and helpful folks that run the place. We will definitely be returning.

This full hook-up location near the Borrego metal sculptures was an amazing find. The RV spots were spacious and level. Deborah was so friendly on the phone, at check-in and seeing us off. She even helped me back in our spot. I highly recommend this beautiful spot!

Debra and Sigfried are the hosts. The park is always safe and very quite. Quite hours are 8am to 8pm or so but your expected to be quite all day. Its the perfect end to a hectic day of mobbing through the desert. Huge hottub to help ease the sore knees. Perfect clean and well stocked showers/bathrooms. If loud parties till 2am are your thing look to Desert Ironwood. Don't bring active children or be loud anytime of the day, you will be asked to leave or asked not to come back. Think of this as quite retirement community and you will be ok.

We love this park; hidden gem, huge pool, jacuzzi, immaculate facilities.. bathrooms, laundry. We have a licensed off road jeep, so works for us! Perfect if you are on/off road. Parking area for off road vehicles otherwise and pretty secure. Mellow park, well maintained... trees, full hook ups! Close to Borrego, local stores, Iron Door, trails. Note, no cell service... have to go outside of the park for messages, calls.

Wonderful little resort! Extremely well groomed TV spaces, each with electricity and septic hook ups. We rented "Dennis" a 1960 trailer that was perfectly clean and very comfortable. There is a nice pool and jacuzzi, extremely clean bathrooms with big showers, a kids play area, a fire ring for roasting marshmallows, a doggie park well-fensed, very quite, safe for my 3 and 5 year olds, no internet, plenty of shade. Very generous check out time. I just cant say enough nice things about this park!

Great place and the best of camp hosts ever. Very accommodating and helpful with local maps and information about the area. Sites are well kept and nestled in between beautiful trees. Amenities are pool, hot tub, laundry room, playground, dog walks and many acres to wander around on. Perfect place for off highway vehicle enthusiasts.

We stayed a whole month and had a wonderful Thanksgiving celebration with all of the campers, that the owner graciously hosted. Many thanks to Deborah ( the owner) Star, (the camp host) Dana, (maintenance) and Kat (housekeeping) for keeping the grounds and restroom/showers and laundry facilities impeccably spotless. Though the pool isn't heated, I still swam everyday in its prestine beauty. The jacuzzi is heated and is very nice to relax in after a long day. There is also a very large fenced in dog run, which we found to be most delightful for our little pups. This is a off roaders dream camp, but I would recommend for anyone to stay here ATV or not. The sites are quite spacious and private with Tamarisk trees separating most. The Ana Borrego desert and Borrego Springs near by are a must see. There is little to no cell service, but we began to enjoy the solitude and found many lasting friendships. We look forward to spending some time there next season. Leapin' Lizard RV Ranch is the perfect place to relax and explore the desert from. Some of the most spectacular sunsets I have ever seen. See you next season!!

The resort is beautiful, clean, and the pool area is fabulous. The issue I have here is the resort, which is located in Ocotillo Wells SVRA, is not very friendly to the OHV users. Yes, they have a gated area which will store OHVs but if you have an off road vehicle like a Jeep or Baja Bug expect kick back from the owner for going in and out of the park. Again, the resort is beautiful, if you plan to just camp and stay then this park is for you. If you plan to use your OHV i would suggest a different resort.

What a gem in the desert. We called 2 days before leaving checking on availability. She said she had 2 together and we booked them. Debra was most helpful and friendly. Spaces were plenty big for our 38’ trailer and truck. The park was super clean and well taken care of. We will definitely return. Thank you!

Friendly staff, we were there on New Year's Eve and they invited us to their party. Quite, clean & safe. No WiFi or cellphone service at all except possibly within 50ft of the office building. Great stay for 4 wheeling at Ocotillo Wells and sightseeing in Borrego Springs.

I've been traveling for quite a while now and this is one of my favorite places I've stayed in recent memory. The owners Deb and Star were so gracious and nice while I was there staying for a month exploring the Anza-Borrego desert and the area surrounding Ocotillo Wells. The camp sites are VERY clean and spacious with lots of shade.... None of the other parks in the Ocotillo Wells area had as much shade or were as nice. The pool and other amenities were also very nice. The only downside was cellular signal was very challenged there, lucky to find a 1X signal in most of the area around Ocotillo Wells. They do provide wifi in the park and considering that it was Hughes Net Satellite it was okay for everything but streaming video's. I'll be certain to stay there again when I am in the area. With a directional antenna attached to my cellphone booster I was able to get a pretty solid 3 bar 4G signal. Stay here you will not be disappointed!

We came for 1 week with thoughts of adding another week. The campground is super if you do not need internet and don't care that the jacuzzi is only lukewarm. We did not stay for the second week. We were happy that the first week was over. We will come back when they have internet and a hot jacuzzi, 'cause the people are very nice.

Leapin”Lizard RV Ranch, Ocotillo Wells, CAWe stayed two nights beginning Feb 10, 2019. One of our best RV experiences in the last 10 years of RV travel in the west. Clean tiled rest rooms & showers, a beautiful pool, and solar heated spa. Laundry, library, games, back-in oversize sites, and abundant shade from Tamarisk trees. Quiet and efficiently managed. $36 per night Good Sam. WiFi limited to certain spots within park. Very quiet and peaceful. Would certainly stay again for at least a week. Borrego Springs is about 20 miles distant for supplies. Superb in most every aspect.

We come here more than 3 or 4 times a year, the staff is very friendly and the environment they create is very family friendly, they allow ohvs but you park them up front, it keeps the camp safe for smaller children. The campsites are full hookup and 50 amp included! This has become a tradition for us.

Loved the park and people. The trees are amazing that surrounds your space. The only downfall for staying months at a time was the cell phone service and the drive to go shopping. Other wise its a fantastic place.Stayed Oct-Dec. 2016
