Stayed a night here to experience the nearby areas. On the plus side, the grounds are well kept and maintained. It's definitely a very cozy setting with the smell of piñon in the air. They have free EV chargers for those with electric vehicles. On the not so plus side, I killed two cockroaches and one cricket in the room shortly after we checked in. The ceiling fan didn't work in the room either. We visited their little coffee shop on the way out in the morning. Enjoyed the quiche and overnight oats. They had good coffee as well.I feel a bit overcharged considering everything.

I love the place. It has 3 general pools and many private pools that belongs to Villas on the property that you can rent. There are some tennis courts, gym and a golf club near by.Priced reasonably well.Courteous staff.Nice location in the middle of the desert.Lots of plants and exotic trees 🌴. There are even some lemon trees and a huge amount of cactuses.Very hot at summer time but supine during spring and winter. The night sky is really dark and full of stars. The best place for stargazing.Highly recommend to stay during the trip.Rooms: Clean and renovatedNearby activities: Lots of hikes and interesting places to exploreSafety: Very SafeWalkability: The territory has plenty of pathways connecting property buildings and facilities. It is pretty big territoryFood & drinks: There is a market, Starbucks and a restaurant on the siteNoteworthy details: Great deal

La Casa Del Zorro is a timeless gem in the middle of the desert! I've loved this resort for as long as I've been visiting Borrego Springs, which is why my fiancé and I decided to plan our wedding reception here. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth & hospitality. Our guests, who all travelled to be at the wedding, loved that they could all have their own space and also enjoy the beautiful grounds and amenities together. Many of the rooms are updated beautifully, and the casitas are charming!Planning a wedding at La Casa was a wonderful experience. Tony & Lucy were a pleasure to work with - from our initial meeting, all the emails, to the actual day of, they were professional and went above and beyond to ensure our special day went well. The outdoor area off the restaurant was perfect for our cocktail area, and as it cooled off later in the evening we moved inside to the ballroom for dinner. Many of our guests had great things to say about the food! We kept our wedding decor minimal, aside from our florals, as the vintage vibe of the resort and the stunning grounds were the main reason we chose La Casa as our venue.I spent the day after the wedding relaxing at the spa with a lovely massage - highly recommend. I can't say enough good things about La Casa as a resort and a wedding venue! A big thank you to Lucy & Tony as well as the rest of the team - our bartender, our severs & all the friendly front desk staff. We can't wait to spend future anniversaries celebrating at La Casa!photos: @karishootsfilmcoordination/florals: @nicoleburbankeventsharpist: Naomi Alter

This is a great place to stay while you enjoy the beauty of the desert. They have a nice grounds for walking and playing different games along the walk of the property. There is a fully equipped fitness center and tennis courts. The casitas with private pool are the best getaway for private seclusion to rest and relax. We come back every year.

We just finished lunch at the Fox Bistro and had a great experience. 4 of us were so impressed with the quality of the food, the excellent service from Irene, and the beautiful atmosphere and our surroundings. The lamb barley soup was outstanding! The taco salad and burger were also delicious. This entire resort is a special place and worth spending time at, even if it is out of the way. Those of us who have the opportunity to visit frequently are truly lucky. Make yourself one of the fortunate ones and go experience La Casa Del Zorro. Debbie Duwe

Mid-week stay for a visit to Palm Canyon... Booked a Casita with private Jacuzzi and carport parking. Overall, very good. Rooms are spacious but dated and a bit tired looking. Beds comfy, Bathrooms clean and well appointed. Kitchen/Bar offers very little except a small sink, glasses and a 1-cup coffee maker, so not lining up with a 2-bed bungalow. Lacks task Lighting in the sitting room, sort of has a bare bulb in the ceiling vibe. Private and hot Jacuzzi on the enclosed patio off the sitting room. Did not partake in Yoga or other Rec amenities due to rain, but the grounds are well kept with very nice Tennis, Pickleball, etc. Restaurant was OK, but old school dark, no linen tops. Grumpy waittress served an over priced and uninspiring meal. Ate elsewhere after that.

I am not sure the value is with this hotel, especially if you are paying over $350 a night. It's nice that they had plenty of pools/spas around the property. The tennis/pickleball court is beautiful. Now the bad things, I had to kill a huge cockroach in the middle of the night crawling on the floor. The internet is weak. The TV is a Roku system. There are really no stores near by, so bring snacks and drinks because their on site store closes super early.

Very nice relaxing resort. I love all the amenities (pools, spas, tennis/pickleball courts and other), they have a star watch dedicated black out space, very nice landscape for walking, yoga every morning... Rooms are clean and nicely decorated, staff is friendly and very accommodating! The internet is very weak, so it was good to be away from the world happenings for a little bit :)

This was our third visit (our 1st in a casita) and we intend to return again and again! While the grounds are generally well maintained, the rooms clean and comfortable with lots of fun amenities on property (free yoga, tennis/pickleball courts, giant chess, horseshoes, several pools etc.), there are areas and some rooms that could use some TLC - but nothing that deterred us from enjoying our stay.

Beyond incredible is all I have to say about customer service from booking agent and a customer service woman named Vivian. My situation could have been a real disaster if it was not for them!Gratitude is not even close to how I feel!Thank you.

Overall I loved my stay here, it was very peaceful and rejuvenating. It was like staying in a rustic desert inn with spa features.I wound up getting a Casita with a private jacuzzi, which was so nice! I loved having it all to myself and it was very privately walled off from other guests. It was about 120 degrees f outside so it was literally like being in a sauna, so I had the heat turned off but I still loved it. Because it's so hot the resort is mostly empty this time of year. I also had the main pool to myself at night. I got a hot and cold stone massage which was divine, and the restaurant food was very good. The room itself was clean and comfortable, though it was definitely rustic and dated in design. Plus there were a couple big dead bugs in it. Great water pressure in the shower though! The restaurant was only open for breakfast and dinner, but they have a little store that stays open so you can get food there any time. The resort is in the middle of nowhere so I didn't try leaving the resort to get lunch.Because it was the off season for this location it was affordable and overall really good value for the money.

I was shocked how much I enjoyed this resort. They have something for everyone. The rooms are spacious and I love the ceiling with the wood beams. The staff were all so friendly. The pools were clean. I understand we are in the desert and rooms are nice and cool. My room did have a bug on the inside door when we went to leave. I still gave it a 5 star as they really do deserve it. I'll go back.

Pretty but problematic:Was charged weeks after my visit for drinks at a bar that my girlfriend and I never visited. The following day I was charged an additional $73 for a meal that we did not have. The front desk said they will look into it, as it is a common issue for customers to leave the room number of other guests at their restaurant, and for the wrong individuals to be charged. The visit(just at the resort itself) was not a particularly pleasant experience either. We were moved out of our chosen room due to an HVAC system that was out of order leaving the room extremely hot in the desert heat. The transition took a few hours to occur due to overbooking at the resort, using up much of our first night’s stay to resolve the issue. We awoke to large bugs(believed to be cockroaches) in the bathroom of the second room on the day of our departure. In conclusion; The property is beautiful, and the rooms look wonderful in pictures, with high quality amenities. Borrego Springs is also a beautiful location with a wide variety of unique experiences to offer, and a multitude of pleasant places to stay. Unfortunately, the experience was severely tainted by the poor customer service, poor maintenance, pest control problems, and severely mismanaged billing.

We went for a couple of days to just unwind and relax. From the moment we pulled in the check-in parking, the whole atmosphere of this gem in the desert was very welcoming. Meandering paths, desert flora, cascading fountains, clear beautiful warm desert gentle breeze upon opening the car door. Yes, I was delighted I picked the right spot to stay. The staff are very nice and welcoming. We picked a upper room, so we wouldn't have anybody walking around on our ceiling disturbing our zen. No elevators but its just two story. They have multiple swimming pools there. We made a day of lounging poolside. We ate dinner at their restaurant and really enjoyed that too. It was nice and quiet most all of day. We enjoyed finding the multiple koi ponds too. We will definitely look at this special place as regular spot to go unplug and just hear yourself think and be aware all the natural beauty if you let yourself experience it.

This is an elegant destination in the Borrego Desert. I’ve been flying in to come for lunch and dinner for decades. The accommodations are extraordinary with private bungalows. The grounds are a calm and peaceful place to explore while decompressing from other places in the world. I highly recommend discovering this rare wonderful location. If you are flying to the Borrego Valley Airport they will send the car for you. If you’re driving around exploring the Anza Borrego State Park make this one of your stops.

Everyone whom we interacted with took excellent care of my husband's needs, mine and those of our furry companions. Even through a couple of challenges, they responded immediately to our call for assistance, and they were on top of things and things were resolved Beautifully! WE INTEND TO BE BACK FOR SURE!!!Thank you again for providing us with the experience we needed to realize that in addition to Resort's gorgeous setting; what made this stay Magical was the willingness of the staff to be of service!!!
