I am so lucky to have chose to train my dog with North County Canine. I can’t recommend working both Jess and Dustin more! Frankie is a Corso/Dane mix who lacks a lot of confidence and attending the group obedience classes is one of the best things for her. The progress in each dog from class to class is impossible to miss and it truly is so beneficial for Frankie’s behavior outside of class as well. We do both private and group lessons whenever we can and Frankie and I both throughly enjoy attending and there is always some to learn.

Dustin has given me the tools to practice skills with her in our one an one classes and then drill those skills in a live distracted environment in group classes. I could not be more complimentary of North County Canine! I have two working dogs - one being very independent and confident, while my other dog demonstrates mild reactivity and tends to be insecure. Dustin has worked with both of my doggos and has extensive knowledge in different areas of specialized training, displays professionalism, and provides each handler with knowledge and feedback to accommodate their dog and his/her specific needs. I currently attend the large group obedience and bitework classes, and in only a short period of time, I have noticed an immense amount of growth in both of my dogs. I would highly recommend Dustin and Jess for all levels of dog training!

My wife and I tried a different board and train about 6 months prior to this and were left with an okay job but still plenty of issues that only grew into headaches and frustration. Fast forward a bit and now I’m sitting in an evaluation with Dustin and Jessica helping us understand Draco a little more and analyzing a list of different situations to come up with a game plan for Draco. After the eval we scheduled a date that works to begin the training and they definitely exceeded all of my expectations. I seriously appreciate everything Dustin and his team has done for Draco and us as we were not expecting this amount of support and transparency through the board and train process. I could not be any more grateful for the help in bringing us back a solid companion. Without a doubt his excellent service and strong commitment to help our little family has already made a great impact in our daily lives and I’m certain it will carry on. Dustin has been an awesome person and an amazing trainer. He has definitely become THE guy I will go to for any type of training in the future and I most certainly recommend to everyone with pets and those who think of getting a pet. These guys take pride in the work the results they turn in. Once again you guys are great and I will be coming back for all the different trainings you all offer.

I highly recommend North County Canine Training for your puppy or adult dogs training needs. The whole team is comprised of amazing trainers. We started Kip with on leash lessons that included the Beginner Practice Class then we went on to the off leash class. Not only is Dustin the best dog trainer he has also helped train me so I could be a better dog parent! Kip is now a very well behaved and obedient Dood and he didn’t lose any bit of his charisma or character. North County Canine Training really took care of Kip and treated him like family. He loves going back and seeing his favorite trainers from time to time.

I had a wonderful experience with them when they trained my dog Arthur, who was very hyperactive and nervous around other dogs and people. Jessica and Dustin taught me how to establish a routine and use positive reinforcement to calm him down and make him more confident. They also gave me tips on how to socialize him with other dogs and humans in a safe and fun way. After three sessions with them, I noticed a huge improvement in Arthur's behavior and attitude. He is now much more relaxed and happy, and so am I. North County Canine Training is the best choice for anyone who wants to have a well-trained and well-adjusted dog.

I have been so impressed with our experience at NCC. At the end of last year we made a last minute decision to adopt an 8 week old Belgian Malinois. We were fully aware of what we were signing up for but had no idea where to start with his training. After our initial consult with Dustin we signed our pup, Bear, up for the Puppy Confidence Course right away. There is an amazing obstacle course the puppies can use. Each time Bear went through it I could see him become more and more confident. That, in addition to obedience, laid a wonderful foundation for our pup. Bear is now 6 months old and we still bring him there twice a week. We even join the NCC Tracking Team every Thursday morning for tracking & trailing, which has benefited both of us on the trail and in public settings. We also go once a week for obedience. Today I walked my "wild" Mal pup through a crowded pet store on a loose leash and the other dogs did not phase him. This is something I never imagined I could do with a dog breed that is known to be reactive. Thanks to NCC I have a well balanced and well behaved pup. I am excited to see what he can do in the months to come!

We took our 5 month old GSD puppy here to get trained in obedience/manners and we are pleasantly surprised with the outcome of his training ! Trainers communicate well, know what they’re doing, and most of all love these pups. We enjoyed even learning from the trainers what our dog had learned and even going as far as practicing it ourselves at the facility before returning home. 10/10 recommend this place for training/boarding, I would not trust anywhere else. North County is by far the best investment you can ever make for your dog! My partner and I heard about north county from a friend who had the most well behaved and happy dog, so we knew they’d do a good job but once we met Dustin and Jess we knew they were the perfect fit. North County Canine Training was the best thing I could have done for my puppy. I was referred by a neighbor whose dog is the best trained dog I have ever been around. I adopted my puppy Brooklyn from a shelter and she was extremely timid and could not be left alone for longer than 20 minutes. Through in-person training sessions, Jess and Dustin helped bring Brooklyn out her shell and teach me about the right ways to train your dog for their benefit. I also enrolled Brooklyn in their E-Collar training and while she was only there for 8 days, she came home with a much more honed in focus on commands and now feels more confident and comfortable being home alone when we need to step out of the house.

I heard about North County Canine Training through a friend who had used them for her dog. We had just gotten a Dogo Argentino who was showing some intense aggressive behavior to our other dogs and cats. I booked 6 sessions with Dustin and Jess. I also purchased an Electric Collar through them, per their suggestion because our dog was attacking our other dogs. He is a very stubborn dog, and it literally only took 2 sessions with them to get his aggression in check. We just finished our 6 sessions, and he's a completely different dog. He listens, he knows basic obedience now, he loves his crate, and he's getting along with our other dogs. If I hadn't found North County Canine Training then I would have probably had to give my handsome boy away, so they literally helped keep our 4 and 2 legged family together.

We adopted a 2 year old male dog from a shelter. The shelter told us he had separation anxiety where he would freak out and destroy things if left alone. ** one year update, he can stay home alone not crated and be perfectly fine and does not destroy a thing!! Woohoo!!! ** He also was a big puller on leash. We decided on a 3 week board and train with North County. We got back a new dog! He listens to commands, no longer pulls on the leash, and overall just seems more confident. They train you on how to implement the commands at home once the boarding is over! Would recommend to anyone looking for amazing results! Going to keep going to them to hopefully get our dog to completely off leash walking! The trainers are extremely nice and the owner Dustin is amazing to communicate with. They truly are so knowledgeable.

Dustin and Jess are awesome! They are the best K-9 trainers we have ever worked with in terms of both knowledge on behavior modification and instructional abilities. They clearly communicate what needs to be done to both the dog and owner and make training a breeze. We began training with our year old Labrador Retriever who had a few behavioral issues (leash pulling, barking, disobedience) and within a couple sessions his behavior had completely turned around! We can now enjoy taking him with us on walks and are not constantly reprimanding the poor pup for his over-excitement. Dustin and Jess prove that the value of a professional trainer in your dog’s life cannot be overstated.

I Recommend this place to anyone that needs any training for their dog. This place is incredible with what they can do -I brought my dog Molly in for obedience training. She Has always been a nervous, scared of people, anxious, high energy dog that was tough to control. Dustin and his crew did an incredible job working with her. I picked her up, three weeks later, a completely different dog. She is confident, obedient, happy, and loves people.If you are looking for a place to take your dog look no further! We just finished training for both of our Golden Retriever boys, Teddy (3 years old) and Ronnie (8 months old). Dustin and Jess are SO good at what they do. They clearly LOVE the pups and have such a good balance of love and discipline. Absolutely worth the investment!!! Who wants an untrained (or a couple of untrained) dogs jumping all over them and misbehaving all the time? With Dustin and Jess’s help we have built a stronger and healthier relationship with our pups where we are the ones in control. Both Teddy and Ronnie now have a consistent and reliable down/stay and sit/stay as well as an ability to complete a 20 minute or longer “place” command (which we use often when guests are over or when we are eating dinner). Both pups are amazing at loose leash walking AND off-leash heeling. 🤗 Not only have the pups gotten amazing training, but my husband and I are now much more comfortable with how to interact with the pups to reinforce everything they’ve learned for continued obedience! Previous bad behaviors that we now have a firm handle on are chewing on kitchen towels and baseboards and digging holes in the backyard. I am so happy with how the training has impacted Teddy and Ronnie and I HIGHLY recommend North County Canine Training to everyone!!

Dustin and Jessica are really awesome trainers! We rescued a pup only 5 months old and wanted to start things off right. Being new to puppy parenting they were very good with teaching us the basics right off the bat, always focused on what is important to us and educating us while training our pup. Their training is very personalized and we learned many valuable things that you just can’t achieve watching a video or going to group lessons. The best part was they always included our young daughter in the process and encouraged her to take part in the trainings. We recently started working with Dustin and Jess to help train our 1 yr old rescue GSD/Husky pup. While he was mostly house trained , he had some behavioral issues ( jumping , biting , leash pulling , barking unnecessarily, etc) . Within the first 3-4 sessions with the both of them , we have seen a full 360 turn around with our dog. Dustin makes sure he truly engages with you and the dog , to make sure you get the best training. He also follows up every other day to check in between sessions. He is extremely well knowledged and taking our dog to any public place is effortless now. While out he has impressed so many people we’ve walked by , that they instantly ask who our trainer is ! We love working with him and absolutely recommend him to anyone who is looking for hands on training that really covers all aspects of behavioral issues and the some ! Thank you Dustin and Jess !
