Overall a nice campground. Site 3 was clean, level, nice fire-ring, and next to small creek. The two parking spots were shallow: They fit my small SUV, but a full sized PU may not. Tent space good for large 6-man tent. Bathrooms were mixed. Clean with flush toilets. Showers were Pay but had no hot water. Some sites need to climb up or down from car. Campground in canyon with all the shade. I would stay here again.

Beautiful campground.Big enough and flat spots to camp. The river crosses the whole campground so there are spots literally next to it.Too expensive for a campground though, was the only one available but we’d choose another cheaper if we have the option .Restrooms: Very clean restrooms, and warm water comes out instantly.

Great for outdoor and camping. Parking is very tight specifically if you have a big truck or suv. Bathrooms and showers don’t support the volume of people, they need more showers and toilets and an overflow parking for big vehicles. Overall, great experience

WOW! This place exceeded my expectations. I camped here over Thanksgiving. I had never been to Big Sur before so this was a very special experience. Cozy campground and was surprised to see they offered glamping (with special bathrooms with key cards for them). The showers in the girl's restroom was FREEZING but the guy's shower had hot water. Felt very safe there. Clean campground with the most beautiful trees. We camped in our car and our camp spot was on a hill. If you are doing what I did, definitely call and make sure your car can drive into your campsight, otherwise you might have to park in a parking spot and not have the privacy you need. Very close to Pfeiffer Beach. Enjoyed dinner at Fernwood restaurant. The PCH was closed south of our campground but it's supposed to open back up by the new year.Restrooms: Cold shower in womens restroom towards the entrance of campground.

We had campsite 28, surrounded on 3 sides with forest and only neighbors were down slope 27 and 26. It's approx 200 feet incline to the passing 26 and 27 to get to 28. Our wagon came in handy hauling our stuff up the slope. Spent 4 nights and very enjoyable and quiet. Toilets & shower maybe 5-7 minute walk away

A bit overpriced for the value. They charge a premium for the Ventana name but all of the amenities are with the hotel and not the campground. They advertised an airstream that is only open 2 days a week. Tent and campsite were decent, showers were clean. Firewood and ice were expensive. Would recommend you camp at a cheaper location and eat breakfast at Sur House for the view.

Beautiful trees! It’s a very crowded campground though. Very nice bathroom facilities. Showers are $2:5min. We were told at check-in that the associated BBQ joint would be open until 7:30 though and we just wanted to grab some brisket for our preplanned dinner and they closed by 7pm. For the price, we could have gone somewhere more quiet.

The campground is bit expensive than state park campgrounds. The campground has all facilities including a very good shower room (extra payment) as well as very good mobile reception. The location is very peaceful. We found it a bit difficult to find the location as the main road does not have any indications. It is named as Alila .

Smaller camping spot compared to other places we've visited. Yet, just being in Bog Sur, we loved the conveniences. The shower coin is $2 per 5 min. we bought a bunch for the whole family for 3 days. However it gives you hot water just about a minute during the 5 minutes, my kids didn't want to take the risk. :(The shower has two open windows, so taking a shower early morning or late night I was really cold.

Depending on what tent site you get. I am not reviewing their glamping tents. They look nice but I don't think worth the price. I had site 5 which turned out to be one of the better ones. Do your research as some sites you need to walk to the site from car. And some sites it was a steep hill. Site 4 is nice but site 6 is small and the community water is in the site itself. Site 7 is further back and somewhat private. Site 8 is near the road but a nice size. The bathrooms are nice and clean.

My daughter and I had a great time. The lady at store was awesome. Also the guy at the front gate was awesome. The facilities were clean and the camping sites were also clean. The only problem I had was the showers were cold and cost 2 dollars for five minutes. For this reason I didn't use the shower. Which was fine because I am use to camping without showers or facilities. Oh also sites were a little closer than I am use too. Overall I would recommend this site. Oh yeah the ladies I talked to on the phone, one for booking and one to receive the confirmation email were wonderful.

Glamping was a really great experience! The bathrooms were super nice and clean, they were able to let us choose the specific campsite we wanted, they also had bug spray when we asked for one (coz we forgot ours).A few things to note: for those scared of things such as lizards, there was a small hole in our tent through which some mosquitoes and lizards did get through. There was a hole in the mosquito net as well. Other than that, the tent was clean, bed super comfy and super warm, a little too warm for September actually.

Had a really good time over the winter for a few days. Check-in was a little confusing. The kiosk was closed when we got there so directions weren't exactly clear on the app how to check in. But luckily it was automatic and since you pick your spots ahead of time I just headed over there and camped out. Very basic amenities but for $80 a night didn't expect very much whether it was definitely cold about 45 but doable for November. Had a really good experience. Really clean facilities and parking for one car is all I needed for two people. Would definitely recommend going with friends. Super easy to get from the main road and directions are everywhere.

Great campground! Highly recommend this as a spot to stay in big sur if you are up for camping. Sites are a good size and fairly flat. Bathrooms are some of the cleanest I have ever had at a campground. Plus beautiful to wake up in the heart of a redwood forest. Will be back.

The glamping tents are perfect, so beautiful in the trees, great service on arrival, the bathhouses for the tents are really nice and clean. Having the water and insta hot water at each tent is really convenient. Love it here.

Great shady campground, with really nice bathrooms. The showers were hot and the bathrooms were clean, the soap was often out in the bathrooms so I would suggest bringing your own! Some sites are a little more on top of each other than others, we enjoyed our spot at site 13, however one of the ones near us was not very private - its a little hit or miss, but not nearly as bad as other reviews imply. The map is a little misleading, you can't really tell what spots are the best from the map. Some spots require a little bit of a walk from the car to the site past other sites, you don't drive into the actual site. I had great service here, unlike most of the areas up and down PCH. The campground is in a great spot. Very close to Pfeiffer Beach, a general store, and some amazing view points. The campground is in the forested area and the trees are GIANT. We didn't ever really get sun at our site, and you are blocked pretty well from wind. The front gate attendant wasn't there very late, so get your fire wood and shower tokens earlier in the day/ on the way in!

Incredible location. Convenient to main highway, big sur beach nearby shops, restaurants and gas station. Extremely clean camp site and great space for tent camping. Nice, clean bathrooms. So peaceful and right in the redwoods with a flowing stream. Definitely going back.

The only reason I didn’t give it a five star is the parking limitations. Usually campsites have 2 parking spots per site but these tent campsites only had 1 spot. Other than that tent campsites were too close to each other. Campground was very clean and well maintained. Bathrooms and showers were very clean and the background of each campsite were tall redwood trees. Will definitely come back. We will be trying their glamping next.

Absolutely beautiful space to camp! The trees were gorgeous, the staff was friendly and our campsite (hike-in #60) was very spacious. However there are definitely some cons to note:- showers are $2 for 5 minutes but only stay warm for about 30 seconds before turning cold- staying at a hike-in campsite is a big time pain! Very far away from restrooms and the parking lot.- wide range in quality of sites. Some are spacious (like ours) but many were right on top of other people.- quite expensive for what you get!

Very easy check in, accommodated us arriving an hour early. Site exactly as advertised: drive up tent camping with picnic table and fire ring. Clean bathrooms. Make sure you read, no vehicles later than 20 feet!

Nice clean campground. Sites are kinda small. If we had more then one tent site one would have been problematic.

Site 23 is awesome, this campground is absolutely beautiful, but with the reputation and cost I expected more. They charge an additional $2 for 5 minutes of showering, in cold water, then scalding, then cold. I was here a week I never got a hot shower. The bathrooms near my campsite (also near the closed airstream snack store) were locked all week. It was a long walk to the bathroom, up a steep grade to get back to the tent... we are in tents here... we need a bathroom sometimes in the night, not hiking that far to get to one... and we are paying a decent rate to camp here. I have tent camped all over and honestly Minnesota state parks have better shower facilities. And the rules they print, I've seen two roof top tents that are supposedly not allowed. Despite that, I would stay in this amazing canyon again. Oh, be careful reserving some sites are very small, and very close together. If you need room for two tents it could be an issue. Oh and there is a beer pong tournament happening at one loud site tonight. I expect more from this resort property. Hilton do better!

Overall I felt that the price tag associated with this camping experience was not worth it. We were in a tent spot and while the bathrooms were clean, there was no hot water. This made the expensive ($2 for 5 minutes) shower tokens unusable. I've stayed at state campgrounds with warmer water, it was very disappointing. As others have mentioned, the firewood was also expensive. While the property itself is of course lovely, that isn't hard to do in Big Sur. It also is not the fault of the property, but this campground seems to attract newer campers who aren't accustomed to general camping etiquette; Bluetooth speakers being played loudly, string lights set up and on during all hours of the night, not staying up to wait until their fire burned out or putting their fire out, etc.All in all, it worked for our purposes but we will not be staying here again.

Nice camping experience under the redwoods. Campsite is compact with some lots (like ours in the photo) being spread out while others much more compact. Look for the size descriptions on the site.Campground was clean, quiet, and surprisingly bug free. There’s a small stand on site selling coffee, beer, snacks, etc. with a very friendly staff! Very clean, powered bathrooms with showers (coin operated). There’s a secret hiking trail in the back that takes you up to the main resort and further into the network of fire roads. One tip is to come with lots of kindling. You can buy firewood at the general store or on-site, but you’re not allowed to get kindling off the grounds. It’s too wet to use anyway. We would come back again.

Beautiful and quiet location shaded by redwoods. Check in is 4 pm so if you’re checking in any other time of year besides summer, then you really only have an hour to set up camp b fore it gets dark. The campgrounds are surrounded by mountains and trees. Also, only glamping customers can access all bathrooms. Everyone one else only has access to accessible bathrooms by site 26 which can be a looong walk uphill

Great location and clean bathrooms but the site itself had garbage scattered throughout. Someone also left a grill at the site. For the price I would expect a cleaner site. Photo shows some of the garbage.

Pros: beautiful surroundings, clean restrooms with showers, good selection of food if you are not cooking on siteCons: very crammed sites, depending on the site you get you could be 10 ft away from your neighbors — unless you are into group camping with strangers
