Great place to stay if you are passing through Big Sur, especially on a bicycle. The Staff are lovely and super helpful. The location means you're fairly far from any other services (restaurant, groceries, pharmacy etc) but it also means you get a lot of privacy and incredible views.excellent no frills place to stay to appreciate the beauty of nature and unplug for a while.

Love room number 10. Has the best view. Very quiet and secluded and continental breakfast supplied. Hotel manager is amazing and really friendly!Safety: It is near the road closure, so driving in inclimate weather or at night not recommended unless you are somewhat local and have done drive before.

This was a much needed staycation where even though both my husband and I are from the East Bay Area, neither of us had ever heard of Lucia or been to Big Sur. Let me say that it was right up my alley. Although like the other reviews have stated, it's definitely from those that like a view and not looking for beach access. The view, the sound of the ocean and the night sky with a meteor shower in mind, was a perfect literally and metaphorically breathe of fresh air. It's quiet, can I day this again, it was deliciously quiet besides the sound of the waves. There were a family of deers and rabbits who almost on que greeted us when we arrived amd settled in. I ate my breakfast and drank my complimentary coffee with the family of rabbits at the bottom overlook the next morning. The rooms are basic which we loved and very clean. No cobwebs on the high vaulted ceilings or dust on anything! The shower is tiiiiiiny and the spout was so high, it's not for a short person at all! Again the bathroom was clean and we could over look the size especially since that isn't why we were there. At this time and as stated on their website, there is a taco truck within walking distance and a continental breakfast served every morning out of a locked container that was filled with cuties, bananas, hard boiled eggs, and muffins, cranberry and orange juice. We heard that they are starting to rebuild their restaurant that was lost in the fire.I would have rated the Lucia Inn higher if we had been able to .5 points and if the shower/ bathroom had been a bit larger. The was no "service" besides obvious housekeeping. Pricey for the view but worth it for a get away from the grind and concrete of the city.

Super over priced, you're paying for view only. Nothing great about the room.We got this room for our anniversary, hence, decided to pay a lot($450 per night) for a normal weekend ( not long weekend). Room had bed, coffee maker, heater, very usual bathroom. Bed was nice and clean, we found couple spiders on it though. Room was clean, but they could have done much more for this price. For instance, the chairs outside of the room could have just a cushion, Wich is 20-30$. I'd buy that when I charge people $400+ per night if I was the owner. Or quality of toilet paper could have been much better. I'm sharing this to let you know how cheap inside the room is compare to$500 a night( summer 2022). However, if you like the ocean sounds and view, it has great view. We were not lucky on that since it was foggy both days.So in summary, if you like to pay 400-500 per night JUST for the view, it's right place for you. If not, you're wasting your money.

We stayed in cabin #9, and it was beautiful! The interior was extremely clean, spacious, and comfortable, with a couch, gas fireplace, coffee table, armchair, small desk, space heater. It was raining during our stay, so the indoor space was definitely appreciated.Note that there is no kitchen due to the fire, so breakfast is limited but available! Also wifi is not strong enough for wfh or streaming so be prepared with books, board games, cards :) We were allowed to check in early, which was very nice. Also enjoyed the little trail going up to the viewpoint!

The best location you will probably ever stay, in case you take the time to arrive before sunset and leave well after sunrise. You’ll be rewarded with breathtaking views, while being accompanied by hummingbirds.Tip: do bring your own food just in case, supplies were a bit limited (fair enough given the remote location)

I honestly don't think I had to look at the long list of what's not offered coupled with the list of what they don't do and an even longer list of what you'll be charged if you accidentally don't comply with their terms. I think I'll skip this place and move on

Beautiful, but very expensive, lodging with a fantastic view. No microwave or fridge. We stayed in room 7, which was one of the rooms with a scenic view. To be honest though just book whatever room. They provide you with some outdoor seating and there's benches you can sit at to take in the view. Don't pay the extra money unless seeing the view from your window is really that important to you.

We enjoyed our stay at Lucia Lodge, the views were phenomenal. We also appreciated the binder provided in the room with info about the nearby amenities and attractions. I wouldn’t recommend this stay for light sleepers though.Pros: The view, very fluffy towels, decently spacious room with cute wood beams framing the ceiling.Cons: Very thin walls, we could hear all the movement in the room beside us including their snoring. It also felt like the rooms could benefit from a de-humidifier as you can feel the humidity in the carpet/bedding.

This property is in a beautiful location with a sweeping view out over the Pacific. The room was super clean, the bed comfortable and the shower was nice and hot. We were delighted with our stay here.

It is one of the MOST beautiful places on Highway 101! Best views, clean rooms. For those who love nature more than luxury suits - perfect place to run away from the city. Very serene and very cinematic. This place inspires!P.S. Breakfast is included and is really nice: pastry, eggs, toasts, milk, cereals, yogurt and fruit - just what you need.

Wonderful views, comfortable bed, lovely sound of the ocean. Stay includes continental breakfast at the restaurant starting at 9am. Super friendly staff. Only draw back was the strange many legged bug on the wall. That's nature for you, but my daughter was a bit terrified. We stayed in cabin 9. If you stay in cabins with a partial view (cabins 1-6) you will still be close enough to hear the waves crash at the shore, but the view is blocked by the small parking lot. Parking lot holds about 8 cars, so not that many

Great location for a relaxing break during your pacific coast drive. Stopped for lunch here, outdoor patio tables with ocean view is amazing. Tried fish and chicken sandwich, food is ok but location is amazing. If not for food, definitely stop for a coffee or snack and enjoy the views.

A lovely stop. Even though the restaurant and all the shops but one was closed at the time of my visit, there were still nice views and the kids liked watching the birds and dragonflies. There was a swallows nest up in the rafters in front of the lower level bathrooms and it was nice watching them swoop around

Best Fish and Chips ever. They sold beer by the six-pack and it was not all that expensive. I appreciated the kindness of the woman that served us, and the view from the outside patio is virtually unbeatable. It's times like this that genuinely make me appreciate there are places in California where there are tourists, and locals alike, and a no-name face like me can still walk away feeling like my money was well spent. I'd recommend this place to anyone.

Amazing views, a recommended stop. We stopped for lunch at Lucia Lodge. With limited options along the route we had modest expectations yet were impressed by the quality and flavors of the food. While they offer a limited menu, everything we had was very good.

Room was pretty clean and has everything you would need. The view was incredibly beautiful both sunset and sunrise. The breakfast could have been better (given their restaurant was destroyed by the Dolan fire).

This place is a true gem. It’s family-run hotel and restaurant, with very reasonable prices given the area. The room was sparkling clean and very cozy. The breakfast was a little basic, but it was served in the restaurant with a truly amazing view of the coast and the ocean. The dinner was delicious, home cooked food. I’d definitely stay here again and recommend to anyone traveling to the Big Sur area.

Amazing stay - note there was a major fire on 8/10 that burned the restaurant down and might disrupt operations. The rooms are separate building and unharmed by the fire. We were guests that night. Praying for the family 🙏 that rebuilding is an option. A treasure and if you get the chance to stay ever again in the future do it.

GREAT NATURE. The view is amazing and starts at nights are breathingly beautiful. As there are not many restaurants or shops nearby, I would recommend to bring some snacks/ drinks before checking in.

Grace, the manager, was so friendly and helpful. The cabins were cozy and comfy. The views are breathtaking and there are delightful trails. I encourage everyone to support this landmark as they go through some tough times.

A truly beautiful place to stay. The view was amazing. I would wake up every morning to the sound of waves crashing peacefully against the rocks. My favourite part was the other people there, there was a very nice lady, mildred ratched, who stayed there. She would say good morning to me everyday whilst on her way to work or on her way back from work. She worked as a nurse and was very kind and very helpful would definitely recommend.

We stopped here for lunch during our drive down highway 1. We came for the famous fish and chips. At $28 dollars, the portion size was very large. They tasted great and the views from the restaurant are incredible. The staff was very friendly but stretched a bit thin.

My wife and I had an absolutely wonderful stay at this rustic inn. Most beautiful views we had ever seen. Dinner at the lodge was great. Service was outstanding. We stayed in cabin 7 and I recommend 7-10 for their terrific views of the cliffs and Pacific Ocean. We will certainly be back!

The staff was very professional. Dylan was was very knowledgeable, patient and most helpful in assisting me for nearly 4 hours after my car broke down across the street. It was nothing short of a miracle that it happened in that location because there is nothing for miles in either direction. Allison was another staff member I had the pleasure of meeting, such a sweetheart. I stopped by the restaurant on my way out of town to grab something to eat, the food was delicious and the portions were perfect.

It was my wife and I's first time staying in Big Sur and Lucia Lodge. My biggest recommendation when staying at this property is understanding the time things are available and making sure your room is fully equipped with all necessary items. We checked into room #2 on Monday, July 5. You get the keys to your room via the store and gift shop and unfortunately it is only open until 7PM. We checked in before 7PM but did return to our room until 8PM. At 8PM, I realized that the room did not have soap. Which made using the bathroom and taking showers difficult. A number and email was provided in the room if we had any concerns since no one was on property after 7PM. But the number provided didn't work and I never received a response to my email. Dinner service is limited and is take out only on Monday to Thursday but you need to order by 6PM to receive your dinner by 630 PM. Driving along the coast was beautiful but if you don't plan accordingly you could end up without a dinner or shower.

Absolutely stunning views onto the Pacific from the dining room and very tasty fish and chips. Drawbacks: service was slow, they charge $2 for WiFi (as there's no cell connection in the middle of nowhere) and automatically added 18% tip to our bill for a party of two. Would go back for the food and the views but hope that service can improve a bit for what they charge otherwise.

We had an ABSOLUTELY AMAZING time. My husband and I came for the weekend at the end of May and we still are not over the beauty that is Lucia & Lucia Lodge. I watched Ratched on Netflix and I kept getting distracted by the scenery and just had to know where filming took place. Months later we booked some tickets to LAX and when I saw Lucia Lodge had vacancy we just HAD to do it. We arrived to the lodge at after 7 PM because of LA traffic delays, and were worried we'd miss out on the dinner times and weren't sure of what else we could eat in the area. A quick phonecall to the front desk and they took care of our dinners and placed them packed nicely in a togo holder in our rooms. They even set the fire-heater on for us (it was about 54 F when we arrived), so when we arrived it was great to have everything ready. The room was super cozy, the bed was comfortable, and the bathrooms were clean. We got the room with the ocean view and it was so fun to look outside of the window. The property itself was stunning and located on a cliff essentially looking down and turquoise and sapphire waters. It was misty most of the time, but the sun did come out and lit up the whole property. The walk to a sitting area and hike up to the restaurant had beautiful flowers. The continental breakfast the next morning was fine and the eating area was super relaxing and beautiful.Location was fantastic because it can also be your drive up and down the PCH (which is a must-do in California). McWay Falls, Julia Pfieffer State Park, and Partington Cove were just a drive away and all of them were beautiful and so fun to visit. The next time we go to California I am totally staying with Lucia Lodge again!

Great lunch with a spectacular view. We had fish and chips and the fried chicken sando. Both were amazing. Huge portion of fresh fish with great cole slaw and plenty of fries. Chicken sando was also huge with a spicy tangy slaw. Don't be scared off by the prices, the food is all hand made and the views are worth the cost.
