Our visit turned out to be an unexpectedly enjoyable experience, especially for the kids. For approximately $100, we had the chance to discover and collect around 50 dazzling gems, which delighted the young ones. The interactive nature of the activity made it a hit among the kids, making it a worthwhile and entertaining excursion for a family day out in Big Bear. The lady was so very nice, even though she was there by herself. We did have a long wait but the wait was so worth it - as one of my kids said to me! Very fun times!

Thanks for a fun experience!!! The kids lo end panning for gems (the water was warm too) and had a great time exploring the store. Rudy is very knowledgeable and passionate about her work and it shows!!!The also stayed open last for us when I accidentally left my bag there, thanks again!

We were on our way out of town and got there right when it was supposed to open. Apparently someone called out and the woman said it would be a while. We were about to leave and she ended up welcoming us in and helping us break our geode! She was so nice and explained the kind of crystals inside. We had so much fun checking the place out! 10/10 deserves your business!

My kids loved it and got some very cool shells, rocks and shark teeth! They offer different themed dig bags such as Frozen, Star Wars and dinosaurs. They are very careful with social distancing and only allow 1 family in at a time, but you have to wait a while for your turn. Some of the cheaper options are sold out, but you can split the larger bags for 2 kids. The staff person was very friendly and explained to my kids what type of teeth and rocks they 'discovered'.

We took our boys and they loved it. There was a nice lady Aaron that helped us. I would have given A five because her customer service was awesome, the only thing stopping me was the pricing. It was higher than I remember their website advertised it or they didn't haven't any of the lower priced packages available. Over all it was fun just a little pricey.

Small shop with a unique inventory. The themed displays are really creative and fun! Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. Didn't get to check out the activities, but they seem cool. Overall, 10/10!

This was a really great activity for the kids ranging in ages 2 years old to 21 years old. We bought 3 pretty large geodes and cracked them open for $100 and did a water activity for $45. It was worth every penny to see the amazement on their faces. We will definitely visit the next time we are in town.

Staff was very friendly. The ghost town was cool for the kids. We didn't do the mining but purchased a few items. I'd recommend this place. While it is fair priced it wasn't in my range

To be honest I was hoping for more. I was really looking forward to this and so were the kids. I was disappointed in the experience. Very nice staff and a cute shop but the mining experience for children left me wanting more. We bought the raptor package ($39.99 plus tax was about $45). The kids went outside and they got to dig through 3 buckets of sand. Within about 10 minutes they were done. We filled up about 1/3 of a ziploc bag. I started to put the rocks back into the sand in order to lengthen the experience! And they did have fun. But for the price I just thought there would be more? (Maybe a little certificate for the kids would be a nice touch!) Or even a sifter bucket for the sand or "tools" for the kids to use (they just used their hands). I also thought there was a souvenir type bag but there wasn't, just a ziploc (for the pkg we purchased, maybe it's given out for a more expensive package). Pictures below is what we got to take home.

Went here a while ago, and finally decided to share my terrible experience with this place. I thought this would be a fun detour for me and my sister, so we decided to visit despite some reviews saying that this place was a scam. We were having a good time when out of the blue a white lady (she looked like the owner) asked me "No English?" while looking at my sister. We're Asian, to be clear. First of all, my sister is an American citizen born and raised, and second she was a shy 6 y/o girl. Why was an employee, perhaps even the owner, no less, questioning the English speaking skills of my sister, a customer? The message was loud and clear: non-whites not welcome. Now at that point my family was having a good time, so I bit my tongue, but boy did I want to give that lady a piece of my mind. Left a bad taste in my mouth the whole time there, and for a while after too. At the moment I could only manage to reply "She's young." And that's that. We finished sifting our stuff and left. But if I didn't care about ruining the mood for my family's trip, I would have just opened up on this lady and caused a huge scene. If you want to give your money to a racist business, be my guest. I just know I won't ever be returning here again. And yes, for the price, it's a ripoff.

Not great for small kids, low staffing so you've got to wait out front to be let in but it's right by a very busy road and hard to keep kids waiting and safe. Probably better for slightly older kids. After waiting about fifteen minutes we had to just go without going in.I've visited before without kids and it's a cute shop with some interesting stuff inside.

Horrible experience the owner was very rude and pushy only allows one person in the store at a time. Wouldn't suggest ever wasting time at this dump. Mask are required to enter and no masks are provided.

Each section is priced separately and very dirty and priced way too high. Also I went inside the “store” and the lady asked me to wait outside she didn’t give me a reason this place discriminates too very confusing rude rude Hispanic lady please take your kids elsewhere feel bad for kids I’m Big Bear that have this dirty expensive sand box to play in…Edited to respond to this place: I was the only one in the store, didn’t have my family as I wanted to see if this place was worth it and I still got asked to leave…10 person limit is as excuse to discriminate which I would believe if there were the people (doubt it even ever gets that busy). Stop making excuses and re-read my review if you didn’t understand it!!

Very nice customer service and instructional period from the employee. Just keep in mind that they don't do panning for gold in the winter months...kind of a bummer, but the kids still had fun.

What a great experience! We were told only one group was allowed since one person was working. Everyone was patient and it was fun seeing the smiling faces come out of the store. Once inside, the store was well organized and the worker answered all our questions. Our six year old had a blast "mining" for gems. The worker shared their knowledge and gave helpful suggestions. We appreciate their kindness. We wore our masks inside with no issues.

- We saw this place on our way to Big Bear I Google the business details and it said it was open until 6pm, went there twice and it was close, finally on our 3rd time it was open and lady said they close at 3:00 pm.Inside there is only a gift store, you have the option to get 'raw gems' and price started at $15 and up.So we just looked around and decided to go somewhere else.
