I bought a male betta fish for my office a few days ago. I walked into the store, asked for help and had an associate assist me with EVERYTHING I needed to get set up and keep my new little friend alive. She was wonderful and explained things so well and I was able to leave with everything I needed. If you're like me and you're buying a new friend but you have no idea what you're doing, this is a great location to visit to get guidance with your purchases.

Great staff and loved how they give you the option of adoption (if available) the animal to give good homes to animals in need not just for sale.I wasn't aware petco did this, super happy they have this program, everyone should look into adopting before purchasing.Makes me glad that I'm not only a customer but a share holder of the company, everyone should visit their local petco and ask about adoption options.100% satisfied and glad we were able to give this little gorgeous girl a good home while becoming an emotional support family member for my autistic son. 💯 ❤️

I scheduled a 3 pm grooming appointment for my dog, and my dog was turned away because according to the staff member, she requires more than 3 hours for bathing and grooming, so what’s the whole purpose of having an appointment if these “expertise” won’t abide by it. I questioned the person who was attending me about the purpose of an appointment if there was a possibility of my dog not being seen, and her excuse was that when scheduling an appointment you don’t have the option to go into detail about the current appearance or what your dog requires. So you would think because the appointment program is faulty the staff members will do their diligence and call before your appointment and ask about your dog’s current appearance or ask further questions about the breed of your dog, but that did not happen. It was such a waste of time! I’m not taking my dog to Petco groomers ever.

Do not go here for your pets vaccines needs!!!!!I sent my husband to get our two dogs their vaccines. He showed them the text of the shots needed and they went over him and “strongly suggested” a completely different vaccine package. Half the shots needed were not given! Even when they saw the previous overdue shots. Spoke to one of the vet assistant and they couldn’t do anything nor cared that they disregarded my husbands wishes for a specific vaccine. Why give a bordetella vaccine when we don’t board ? And not even ask if we do. Very poor work ethnic obviously never worked in the veterinary field before.

The manager/employees pass out misinformation about the animals onto possible owners, and it needs to get fixed. I brought it to someone’s attention about it, but I don’t think they cared. The manager, some girl with a hunched back with short hair above the shoulders told me they were able to be in the same cage for a few more months even though I saw one of the hamsters shoving the other one around, also that same night they started fighting even though their scent didn’t change. whoever runs the store really needs to make sure the employees are knowledgeable about all the animals, even if it’s just something as small as a roach.

They limited the amount of fish I could buy even though I specified that I was more than capable of the capacity, maybe he just thinks I'm dumb and don't know what I'm doing, I have years I'm the aquarium hobby.smfh and p.s petco on eastern and Lubec your fish ain't even that good all malnourished and skinny and the tanks are bland no heart compared to my local one on Florence and alameda lmao there's no comparison actually, go check it out for yourself.

Decided to buy me a turtle the employee was very kind and patient when I was picking the turtle of my choice 2 days later he wouldn't eat So I called and An asked about the food they gave the turtles Another employee told me the specific brand so now he is happy and eating thank you.

This store is the worst they carry sick IGUANAS they say that they are in a bad shed but they all have a fungal skin and can cause them too suffer and lose their appetite and die ( I didn't know that till mine died). They need to take better care of the animals I just bought mine and it passed away... Never again!!!

I rake my dog for growing. They call me back in 42min that he was ready I went pick them up and surprise he was dirty and shredding a lot now hair but smelling good. I take it to the one in downey and just like every time we take him there an excellent work. Sorry bell Gardens petco you need to step up on your job is hard to be unemployed

My baby Willow has been going to PetCo for grooming since 2018 with Dolores. Everything was fine until I couldn’t get a hold of her anymore so I tried new groomers. One groomer, which is a male told me that he could not cut her hair no more because she was too hard to handle, and nervous. The third groomer, which I believe is the head of the grooming gave me an appointment mind you without explaining her illnesses, so the day that I went to the appointment she ends up telling me that she has arthritis and she can’t deal with dogs very much, so if she starts cutting her hair and can’t finish, she would leave her like that that is insane. She shouldn’t even be working if she can’t control dogs but like I said since 2018 never had a problem with her now everybody’s telling me that she’s, hard to handle she moves to much she stresses out I think it’s absurd. She now goes to Posh pooch and her first time there they told me they had no trouble with her. Everything went fine and they do a very good job. Pricey, but a very good job.

It closes at 7:00pm on Sundays, not at 8:00pm. Online says at 8:00pm it closes on Sunday. I suggest an Edit to the store hrs. Orderd online and got there just to find it was closed. Had to drive to another Petco for my purchase and buy again what I ordered.

Well stocked Petco with friendly employees. I called a couple of Petcos before my trip to buy a particular brand of dog treats and dealt with no pickup or a long wait only to have a store employee not able to answer my question. With the Bell Gardens Petco a friendly voice promptly answered my call and quickly confirmed they had what I was looking for. Once there, I easily found what I needed in the well organized store and the checkout clerk was pleasant and helpful.

Helpful pet place! You can find about almost anything you need for your pets! From food to toys and occasions and even little beds for the little loved friends. Pets are also sold here such as hamsters, rabbits, fish and snakes or what have you. Not sure if there are any kittens, however. But you will find all kinds of fun stuff for your loved pet. They even have treats! They sell them by the pound! They also have a grooming service for the pets! Makes you want to go to the salon or the barber.. lol! Woof, woof, meow, meow, peep peep!
