We stopped in the little town next to it for lunch and some local shopping. This place looked so cozy and had so many options for food within walking distance. The view looked amazing as well! We added it to our list of places we want to stay when we come back to the area again.Nearby activities: Delicious restaurants, quaint small businesses and lots of scenery to take in nearby.Walkability: There was so many nice places and scenery within walking distance.

Stayed at this resort for a weekend. They didn't have regular rooms and offered a pet-friendly chalet. I got all kinds of allergies and had to take allergy pills. Apart from this, the service was friendly at check-in. The chalet was spacious, with a patio and working heaters in each room. The grounds were beautiful. We didn't see any bears. The closest Yosemite entrance was 15 minutes away from the resort. The jacuzzi was working, but the pool heater seemed to be broken. They had everything in walking proximity: fantastic restaurants, a market, a gas station, boat rentals, access to the lake

The chalets are adorable, they provide so much. It's spacious and clean. Didn't know we were getting one, we thought we book a regular hotel room. We wonderfully surprised to see a kitchen with stove, fridge, microwave, and toaster. The check-in attendant (Amanda) was super polite and helpful. There's more to add, but all in all, highly recommend this place.Rooms: There's a stair to go down in to the room and bathroom. The living room and kitchen are on the "main" floorWalkability: The lake is in walking distance. There's a resort market and a few other shops.

We've been here a couple of times, and will be back again. Chalets have everything we need, and the restaurant is decent. Nearby shops provide for perfect amounts of ice cream. Lake is gorgeous. We bring our SUPs, pack lunch, and head out with the dogs. Last time there, we were surprised by a bear in the trees, a couple of cabins down from ours. Ah, the memories. 😉😊Also, this is a nice place to stay, to day-trip to the ever so beautiful, but overbooked, Yosemite State Park (only 17 miles from South entrance).

A few horrible experiences completely ruined our stay here.On our way back from Yosemite we called to make sure the resort restaurant would be open to fix us a to-go order by 8p. Phone recording said they would be. Arrived at 7:41p and were told at the restaurant that they closed early at 7:30p and refused to fix us anything to eat. 30 minutes from other options that we passed, relying on the phone recording. Told resort management and they didn't care.Second, some massive room service order sat outside our neighboring room door for two days! Literally rotting food on plates... đŸ€ź unbelievable.

We have been going to Pines Resort for family vacations for many years and absolutely love the place. The owners are involved and even treated our son to a birthday gift. The location is exceptional, directly on the lake and close to Yosemite. They allow dogs in some of the chalets. Kids get a campfire and s'mores in the evenings. Water sports equipment is readily available on the lake. Casa Velasco Mexican Restaurant which is within walking distance is great as well.

So sad to see the customer service of this place decline so rapidly. We have been coming here every year at the same time for 7 years, renting 2-3 chalets each time. Each year the customer service gets worse and worse. Check in is at 4pm, but you do not get to actually check in until at least 6 pm due to not having the rooms ready or even the rooms selected for guests. They also do not compensate for the lost time of room usage. Every year we request the chalets with fireplaces far in advance, and rarely do we get them. When asking the front desk how they determine who gets the chalets with the fireplaces, they just say they they try to accommodate requests. It is not hard to allow guests to select chalets with fireplaces when reserving, as opposed to having the staff randomly select who gets chalets with fireplaces. Unfortunately this will be our last year here of our family tradition.

Love Bass Lake. The Pines Resort is located right on the lake only a few feet away from the launch ramp. We had people staying in the main lodge as well as in the cabins. Our home up there had to many staying there and so we decided to go grab a few rooms. We enjoyed our stay, even if we were not there to have fun, we made the most of the situation. Thank you Pines ResortWalkability: Everything is right out the door!!!

We drove 3 hours expecting a clean room and have been nothing but disappointed. Our room had hairs in the tub and the pull out sofa bed had nails, hairs and was filthy. We had to call to get a change of blankets and they had no clean mattresses to replace. Makes me wander if the room was even cleaned thoroughly at all. No fireplace in room and our tv doesn’t get apps to watch movies. The room we have stayed in the past did so not sure why we got the old chalet this time but, a heads up would have been nice. Not sure if I will be coming back, might be worth it to book elsewhere next time.Rooms: Dirty rooms

I've visited Bass Lake a million times over the years and I think that everyone has heard of The Pines Resort. Recently my family and I decided to book a chalet. We arrived early and they were totally accommodating. To our surprise they had overbooked the chalets but they upgraded us to a suite free of charge. We had a great time! It is so peaceful and quiet, we got to swim, we had a perfect view of Bass Lake from our room. We had an encounter with a black bear in the parking lot and we even got to feed a family of raccoons. The wildlife encounter might not be typical for everyone but as soon as we heard that wild animals do venture through at night we knew we had to go looking. We DEFINITELY didn't leave disappointed. It was everything we had hoped for and more. They even offered us an extra night for 50% off and if we didn't have work/school the following day we would've jumped on it. We will most certainly be back and we surely recommend the pines to anyone who's looking for a nice little get away from the craziness of the city.

Very untidy and filthy. On checking in the room, we found out that there were dirt and webs on the blanket. We were too tired to take any measures so we just cleaned basic stuff and slept off. The next morning we discovered two pills from under the bed (pics attached). They don’t belong to us. My clip fell down from the nightstand in the night time and to find it I put my hands under the bed and I found socks from there..shocking how they completely ignore and so irresponsible in “basic” cleanliness. WE MADE A CALL FOR HOUSE KEEPING AROUND 8:30am and it’s 3pm now. Nobody has stop by to clean yet. Not sure when they gonna show up. We are still staying here unfortunately and leaving tomorrow morning. THEY REALLY DO NOT CARE FOR THEIR GUESTS. PLEASE DO NOT CONSIDER THIS PLACE TO STAY IN.

Stayed here for two nights in one of their two bedroom units. The room was clean and the bedding very comfortable. The rooms are older, rustic as you would imagine. The staff was fantastic. Note, some of the rooms are up steep grades, mine was. The restaurant was nice, good food at reasonable prices (for a resort), with nice views of Bass Lake.

We happen to score a deal on TravelZoo for a 2-night Chalet rental with dining credit (for Ducey's) and recently used it (weekend of MLK). The stay was fantastic! When we got there on 1/13, there was melting snow at Bass Lake, just enough for the kiddos to play and slush around in (the real snow was at Yosemite). Staff is super friendly and attentive. The Chalet was cozy and had a nice deck and plenty of room for a family of 4 to stretch out. There's a small market next to registration for food, supplies, etc. THe Chalet had a usable kitchen and stove, big enough for us to store the food we brought from home. Ducey's is great! The drive to Yosemite south entrance was manageable and The Pines Resort was a nice "home away from home". I would come back if another deal pops up (for Spring/Summer). 1-star knocked off because the parking situation (sometimes not enough spaces near/next to Chalet) and the Chalet could use a deeper cleaning, although manageable.

I rented the accessible room for my parents for their 33rd Wedding anniversary and for my Mom's birthday surprise trip. They love fishing and have never been to Bass Lake. The staff at Pines Resort went above and beyond to make it special. They had balloons, roses and champagne ready for my parents arrival as well as a gift card. It was very very sweet of them! My parents were so happy. They said they loved their stay, very relaxing and enjoyed the restaurant on site. They weren't able to catch any fish, but their stay at the resort was so relaxing and comfortable they didn't care. Also really loved how they kept checking in by text. Very helpful. Thank you to the staff for making my parents stay very special. I appreciate it!

What could have been a disaster was a positive experience,Tony got us a perfect halibut substitute...Walkability: Christmas blow ups much appreciated 👍

I was the maid of honor in a wedding this past weekend where Nick was the coordinator- he was absolutely amazing in every way. Ensuring everything was set up correctly, the timeline was followed, the bride & groom were taken care of with everything they needed. You could see that he sincerely loved his job & helping people. Aside from Nick, all the banquet staff were nice, helpful, & efficient.I used to be a venue coordinator elsewhere & have worked along side many event coordinators and let me tell you, Nick has the eye for detail and the passion for this career that shows through his work.Nick, I really appreciate all you did to make Rachel & Karl’s wedding an absolute dream. The only suggestion I would have for the events team would be to increase directional signage for guests to find their way to the “wedding lawns”.

I'm a wedding photographer whp has shot a few weddings at the Pines, and I'm blown away every time!Nestled amidst the scenic beauty of Bass Lake, The Pines is a hidden gem that offers couples a picturesque and enchanting setting for their special day. From the moment you arrive, you are greeted by towering pine trees, breathtaking views, and a serene ambiance that creates a magical atmosphere. One of the most impressive features of The Pines is the stunning ceremony location. The outdoor space, nestled along Bass Lake, provides a breathtaking backdrop for exchanging vows. The natural beauty of the surroundings creates an intimate and romantic atmosphere that is truly unforgettable. As a wedding photographer, I am always delighted to capture the tender moments shared between couples in this idyllic setting. The reception space at The Pines is equally impressive. The indoor banquet facility boasts a rustic charm that perfectly complements the natural beauty of the surrounding area. The carefully curated decor adds an elegant touch, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for guests. Whether couples desire an intimate gathering or a grand celebration, The Pines can seamlessly accommodate their needs, creating a memorable experience for all in attendance. The outdoor reception space sits you right along the lakeside, enjoying a beautiful evening with your guests under twinkling lights.Another aspect that I appreciate as a wedding photographer is the diversity of photo opportunities at The Pines in Bass Lake. Every corner of the venue offers unique and captivating settings for capturing stunning images. Whether it's the breath-taking lakeside views or the enchanting forest backdrop, there is no shortage of backdrops that make every photo truly exceptional.I wholeheartedly recommend The Pines in Bass Lake to couples looking for an unforgettable wedding venue. Do not buy gift cards from this establishment. They sold me a gift card with nothing on it. I gave the card as a gift to a neighbor and after they had dinner and tried to use it and were told it was not loaded. After contacting management and giving them all my info for the transaction, reference number, date of purchase and my card info, they claimed they were unable to find my transaction and stopped corresponding to my emails. Very unprofessional.

I thought this place was absolutely amazing. Perfect for a romantic getaway. There was still a lot of snow everywhere and the lake was so beautiful. We had the lake view spa suite and we loved the room. It was very spacious and the hot tub/ bath tub was amazing. We noticed the room also had a pull out couch which would be nice for families. We had dinner each night at Duceys on the lake and it was so amazing. Their seafood pasta was sooo tasty and it had tons of seafood in it. We ate at the bar and grill above the suites and they had great drinks and HUGE portions of food. The market and little gifts shops in the town were adorable. The market had just about everything you could need and the prices we’re better than I expected them to be.The staff was so kind everywhere and we felt like we were at home. I can’t wait to come back sometime with my doggies soon.

We booked a last-minute family trip for Father's Day and we really enjoyed the location and friendliness of everyone we encountered. However, for the price we paid, we were disappointed to find a room that was not very clean and amenities that were not available. For example, we found belongings of previous visitors in our room, which called into question the thoroughness by which it was cleaned. I went to make my morning coffee and discovered hair in the water reserve. Mounds of dust and old trash under the bed, around the mantel and TV, etc. Hair in the shower. The outdoor grill was filthy and there were no tools for cleaning. We selected this location for the views and ability to spend time around the fire pits in the evening, make smores with our daughter and enjoy the lake, as advertised. But because of a wedding, the fire pits were not available for other paying patrons. We were never warned of this.Again, nothing against the people, but when you start charging premium prices and resort fees, you expect premium service and resort-like amenities that are in a usable state. Prices should be commensurate with the offerings--even if there is a surge during a Holiday.

I would highly recommend Pines Resort in Bass Lake for anyone looking for a great getaway. The resort is very pet-friendly, which is a huge plus for us. The cabin we stayed in had all the necessary kitchen appliances we needed to cook our own meals. The location is perfect, as everything is within walking distance. Overall, we had a fantastic experience and we would definitely come back to Pines Resort in the future. We highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a pet-friendly getaway with all the necessary amenities.
