Cash only!But so so good! Couldn't get a picture of the hamburger before the delectable smell of it had me drooling and shoving it down my throat. I barely got a picture of the pie before it was devoured as well. Big portions! Consider splitting as there are no to go containers!

We came for the pie and stayed for the grilled cheese sandwiches! Not to say the pie wasn't good. It was delicious, kind of like a cobbler/pie deliciousness.My husband was hoping for a tri tip sandwich, but when he tried my vegetarian grilled cheese, he was SOLD!Either way, the comfort food is delicious and really hits the spot after a long hike or backpack. If you want pie, get there early. They run out fast! Same goes for the tri tip, I hear.

Went here a few days ago. It's a bit of a drive, but very worth it. One thing to note, this is not a dinner restaurant, it's a lunch time restaurant. One of the best burgers I've ever had, and the fact that they sell root beer is a huge plus. There's a sign at the beginning of Beasore Rd, and you can tell if it's open or closed before you commit to the drive. The people who work here are very friendly and are very passionate about what they do. Also worth it to visit Globe Rock up the road when you finish eating. This place is cash only, so keep that in mind. They're also known for their pie, but also note, you can't order any specific flavor, as they're constantly putting pies in the oven and taking them out, and they make them in so many flavors that they can't keep track. When you order a pie, it's hot, fresh out of the oven, and served with ice cream, and you won't know the flavor until you take a bite. That scenario may rub some people the wrong way, but for others, it's cool. It's like what Forrest Gump said about the box of chocolates "you never know what you're going to get". It's only open from spring through fall though, as the place gets snowed in in the winter, as it's over 7000 feet above sea level. But if you're really into nature, and can appreciate a very laid back country kind of vibe, I can't recommend this place enough. Also, the owners own a couple of dogs, and these are some of the friendliest dogs I've ever met.

No lie and no exaggerating... This place a treasure! A great friendly vibe, HUGE burgers, and a comfortable atmosphere to relax and take in the amazing views! The place has been operated by the same family for nearly 100 years and they are happy to share lots of Sierra history with you! If you don't drop in, it's your loss. Bring your dog too...

I love this drive, the food, the view, the history. I bring everyone who comes to visit me up there. It's my favorite lunch destination. Huge servings and the tuna sandwich is like nothing I've ever had anywhere else. Tri Tip on the weekend, but weekdays are quiet and peaceful. The pups, Linda (mostly black) and Bodi (mostly white) will help you finish off what you can't! Amazing atmosphere!

We went camping in the summer of 1992. They were in the process on building the "New" showers then... LOL. This place was a wonderful find after spending 2 weeks in the wilderness. We used the "Old" shower then... And even though we could see daylight through the walls, and the toilet seat was hanging on the wall, The showers were a true blessing.Don't miss stopping in for some refreshments or just to look around. Keep in mind, this store is on the edge of the WILDERNESS. So, don't expect Holiday Inn. But, it's Awesome!

Come hungry! Burgers will fill you up and if they don't they have pie! Very basic but awesome. Most of the tables are outside so dress for the weather.

The food was super good, although the woman who took my order kept adding a dollar onto what was posted on the menu board. First the tuna melt was a dollar higher, then when they told me they were out of tuna melt I switched it to Tri tip and paid the difference in price which she also added an extra dollar to (?). Regardless, the tri tip was the best I’ve ever had.HOWEVER, the reason I gave it one star was because of the misleading advertisement that dogs are welcome. Dogs are NOT welcome as long as the blue merle Australian shepherd is walking around loose. It is owned by some one who owns or works at the store and I hadn’t been there 5 minutes when it walked past my 9 month old leashed puppy growling. After I walked away and tried to go on the porch to order, it attacked my pup who was screaming and acting submissive. No one there did anything to stop it until I got in a couple well placed kicks to its ribs to get it off my pup. The dog finally went out to the parking lot to harass another dog tied up and waiting for its owner. A couple weeks later a friend of mine who had witnessed the incident with my pup, returned with no dogs because of this. She did witness another altercation when this same Aussie jumped into the bed of a customer’s truck and attacked a tied Labrador. The owner of the Aussie was able to get it to stop beating up on the lab but was unable to get it to get out of the truck. As long as this dog is allowed to roam free on their property, it is not worth taking your dog to the store.

A friend of ours took us to visit this place. Wow what a beautiful place to have lunch or dinner. Had their special burger with tri tip. Yummy. The service was great and the owner shared stories of the place. Don't miss this place. Eat and hang out enjoying the majestic scenery.

3 of us shared a piece of pie...huge and delicious. Apple/Blueberry alamode means giant scoop of ice cream with a pile of freshly whipped cream on top. Shared a Tri-tip sandwich. Both the cook and the cashier were very friendly and efficient. Refreshingly fresh iced tea!

Jones store is the only place in the Ansel Adams Wilderness to get gas, food and drink. Vern and his family that runs the store have been there forever. There are showers as well for the backpacker or other wilderness adventurers to clean off after coming out of the woods. They are only open in the summer as this place is usually under snow from November till May-June.

Very disappointed to commit to the long drive to only get there and see a closed sign due to running out of FOOD...! How can you run a business like that? I guess they don't appreciate their customers here. What a waste of time and gas. If I could give it negative stars I sure as heck would..!
