The store is very conveniently placed. The store is always very clean and the shelves organized. There have been a few times where some of the shelves seemed bare, but overall they're almost always stocked and organized. The produce always smells fresh and very neatly displayed. The floral department is very organized and the flower are beautiful, but a bit over-priced. It's very easy to get around the store. The employees don't seem too enthusiastic each time we go in, but they are also never rude, which is appreciated. They are also very helpful when asked. There's a Starbucks in the store, which is nice. Parking is never too packed, and the lines always move at a decent speed. Not the best place to shop for price, but very great for cleanliness, organization, and helpful employees.

This review is for the Vons on Stockdale in Bakersfield CA. Almost every time I shop here they try to force me to use self check out and a lot of the time they have no live checkers. Your store is not very senior friendly and a lot of seniors don't like waiting on them selves because it can be confusing to a older person. So Vons please think about us seniors or we will stop thinking of you, AND YOU WILL MISS US!!!!

Mr. Crabtree, who attended me, decided to give me a lecture about how my out-of-state license won't always be accepted due to a "policy." Never in any state that I've visited besides my home state, have I been told this. It's ridiculous to even ask your customers not to present their IDs from another state just because you aren't educated enough in the licenses or identifications from other states. The world doesn't revolve around California, sorry. I would never come back to this location again.

They have the most beautiful floral arrangements here for Mothers Day. They are a bit to pricey for me but if I could I would. Produce always looks pretty and fresh. It was very easy to get some one to help me (I'm in a wheelchair). Very friendly employees.

Vons is a good standard for shopping. This Vons is not as large as many are but it is well stocked and maintained. I have never seen it dirty or disorganized. even after Christmas. As a teacher I like to buy my donuts here when I want to spoil my students for being good. They have a good selection and of donuts and they always look fresh. I also come here from time to time looking for good deals on meat. My wife often comes here on her coupon runs as well. I am very pleased with this Vons location.

My family and I call on Linda for ALL of our floral needs - personally and for our business and Linda never ceases to amaze! My birthday and anniversary are in the same week and generally my husband presents me with beautiful flowers by Linda for each but this year Linda created a spectacular masterpiece for both occasions in one and it took my breath away! Thank you Linda for loving what you do! It shows and creates beautiful moments for us!

Be aware that they have expired products on their shelves, and not for a few days, for a few months! I went on March 13th 2020, and they had Almond butter expired since December 20, 2019. Their prices are high for what they have, $13 dollars for an expired almond butter? No way, better go to other stores. It is not safe to have expired items for that long. That means how much care and effort they put at their job, whoever's make the decision to keep those items on the shelves for that long should have consequences. It is putting people's health in danger.

Today I experienced a Vons associate who changed my perception of the last review I had made. I’ve come here since my last review and have had good experiences but today was especially pleasant. Sara in the floral department was so nice and helpful. Not only did she take time to create a beautiful arrangement out of the flowers I picked out she took the time and effort to make sure it was perfect and just how I wanted. The time and effort as well as the attention to detail is something I’ve yet to experience here before. I’m very happy with my purchase and the customer service that she provided. I’ll definitely look forward to going back in hopes she’s there to assist me again with my next floral purchase. Thanks Sara you turned a 1 star review into a 5 star.

Had great experiences with all cashiers. But there is one gentleman I typically see while late night shopping. I usually shop very early or very late to avoid the crowds. I'm not sure his name but he's always polite and makes funny, G-rated jokes that highlight my night when I'm exhausted and walking in like zombie. His good-natured, cheery attitude just deserves to be rewarded. He really made me smile and laugh when I was running on fumes, lack of sleep and wanted the comfort of my bed. Please give him a raise vons! Not sure his name but was the only cashier on register 7 on Tuesday 10/10 after 10pm!

1 checker and 20 people in line. This is pretty common which is sad especially for the prices being charged. 8.99 for a 3 oz bottle of pink salt. How come I can buy a 12 oz bottle for 3 dollara at another grocer. It's the unions. See attached photo. I found some of what I wanted but shelves are still lacking. Will need to look for another store.

Still some issues of missing stuff on shelves but it is improved! I've been lied to....I was told all Vons were being remodeled to mirror each other much to shopper discomfort.. they aren't! Might as well shop some place else. Then they put self-checkout area..ripoffs happening! Wise up!

The older lady with grey slick bun is very rude, she literally argued with my 13 year old sister over a 10¢ bag… really? So when they were leaving without a bag she was assuming they were stealing because SHE didn’t see them pay, when they were at a whole different register where they paid for it. All she said to them was a “mhmm” when she asked if they paid for it. When they literally had a whole receipt, we went back to show her and she switched her story around making it about the 10¢ bag. If you don’t have proof of someone stealing then don’t open your mouth.

The cashier Charisse as written on my receipt was absolutely rude for no reason. She seemed fine with every other customer though. Refused to help me. Vons needs to hire better employees.

Nice a lot of employees always around to answer any questions and to help you out finding your needs.Prices a bit high but nonetheless a wonderful store.The ambiance of the location is definitely on point and gives a feeling of high standard in the products they sell. I can never adjust to call it Vons instead of Safeway :) basically its the same thing as Safeway, probably even the same company with different names. Because it sure looks exactly the same as Safeways in north Cali. Good store, good people work here, fresh products, you can find anything there! Deli is good. There was a Starbucks inside as well :) and i love it when I can kills 2 birds with one shot and get me some coffee when Im shopping for boring groceries :) 5 stars for being clean and good people working there!

Despite the fact that they are rather "very" pricey, if you use the app & go with their specials & coupons you can get GREAT fresh produce ( especially compared to Walmart where I've had produce spoil within 24 hrs) & general foods merchandise at an acceptable value.

Cashier Charisse refused to let me purchase alcohol because I had a child with me. Refused to even look at my ID and when I asked her since when is that the policy because I shop here often and have never had a problem when bringing a child with me she said "I guess today just isn't your lucky day. I can check whoever ID I want to." Honestly they way she said it was very rude.

Good deals .The service was horrible. The cashier's all of them were very rude . I don't go there very often but when I have went the cashier's have always been rude. I thought maybe it was me but they were rude to my elderly mother too. That's the only reason I decided to give a review.

Best Vons in town!! We went here to order two sheet cakes after Sam’s Club left us high and dry the DAY BEFORE our wedding. We told them our dilemma and they were incredibly understanding and wanted to help us. They took our order and had the cakes ready the next day before the wedding. Our wedding guest absolutely loved the cake, and they saved our day! I wish I could remember the staff working that day, but the bakery staff is amazing and forever grateful to them!!

Great grocery store with a great selection of products, produce and drinks, Always a great option to drink coffee and buy groceries. Only issue is the long lines late at night for checkout.
