I had a good experience with Dr. Lohr removing a growth on my cockatiel's wing. It's been a few weeks and now you can't even tell that there was anything there. The staff was nice and seemed to care for the animals. The only reason for four stars is that their administration price was weirdly high, even compared to other vets, and when I had questions about the finances they weren't as clear or thorough as I would prefer. But in terms of their animal care, very happy!!

I have been coming here since 1996 when I got my first kitten Viskers. Dr. Lohr treated him for nearly 20 years before I had to put him down in 2015. Dr. Lohr has been such a wonderful vet & treated myself & my pets wonderfully. He also has taken care of 2 of my parrots since 2000 & 2016.. I am a cat owner again in 2021 & even though I live way out on Rosedale I knew I was coming back here to have my new cat cared for by him. For 26 years I've been a client & I'm so grateful to Dr. Lohr & his staff for the wonderful service they have provided my pets over the years. They REALLY do treat you like family here. It's what's made me come back time & time again. I couldn't ask for a better Doctor than Lohr. The compassion he displays for your animals has always left me in awe... He truly is a wonderful guy. Always grateful ChristopherI'm blessed to have had a white cat from 96 to 2015 and then AGAIN in 2021 I get another pure white Cat. & I have a beautiful Conure as well. Niles point Vet is #1 for me.

In 2005, My Rescue Cat, Pumba (My Dog, Timone's BFF!), was accidentally let out by a Maintenance Worker and was hit by a car. His shoulder was dislocated (his front leg just kinda Hung; he couldn't move it) he had a couple broken teeth and a hairline fracture. He wasn't bleeding, and was getting on Surprisingly Well!! It was a Holiday Weekend and I couldn't afford to go to Emer. Vet. I brought him to Nile Point because at the time They were the Only Vet in Bks. That accepted Care Credit. The Initial Bill was gonna be $2175!! I had lost my job, was being evicted and was in a difficult position. I offered my Care Credit which had a Zero Balance, because I had paid off my dental expenses prior to losing my job. There was $2000 Available on the card. I PROMISED that I would get the other $175 by the time he was ready for pickup. They REFUSED ME!! They said "In that case, All we can do is offer to put him to sleep humanely"!! The DISGUSTING GREED of this place made me Physically Ill!! I was In Hysterics...BEGGING THEM to PLEASE NOT MAKE ME DO THIS!! Explaining that my other cat, of 15 years (who came from CT with me) had Just died, of "Old Age" (In My Arms...at home...5 DAYS Earlier!!!), and it was gonna DESTROY Timone...AND ME!! I, LITERALLY, BEGGED!! They just said "No, you'd Have To pay that amount Up Front. And Pumba will Likely Require 2-3 Follow Up Visits that will cost about $175 Each, and you Obviously Can't Afford to do that!" So, I asked if I could say Goodbye to Pumba, and they were all Huffy about it, but let me. I was Inconsolable, as I felt like I was being FORCED to MURDER my cat!! He looked So Confused. ๐ญ๐๐คข๐คฎ They then explained that I'd need to Pay for the X-rays. When they handed me the Updated Bill, they Tacked On another $225 for the Euthanization that they were Forcing Me to do!! I paid it, and went back to the examination room and took my cats X-rays. They said I couldn't and I FLIPPED OUT on them!! I Damn Sure DID Take them and DARED THEM to try and stop me!! I then proceeded to my car, where I Threw Up and Cried Hysterically for about 20 minutes, before I could drive.2 weeks later I received a Condolence Card in the mail saying "Sorry for the loss of your Cat, Pumba". I wouldn't bring my Worst Enemy's pet here!! But if you have Lots of Money and Don't Really Care About Your Pet: THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU!! They should Burn In Hell!!๐ฅ๐บ๐ฏโ ๏ธ

I've worked in the Veterinary industry for 18yrs, I took my tortoises to Dr. Lohr as the the Vet I work for does not treat them. Dr. Lohr was so knowledgeable. We had to say goodbye to our baby Mork and Dr. Lohr was not only kind and compassionate but gave our family one of his baby tortoises so our Mindy would not be alone. Dr. Lohr and his staff are wonderful and we are so grateful for their care.

Let me start by saying my family has been bringing our animals to Dr Lohr and Nile Point for over 30 maybe 40 years. We've been happy to pay the higher than usual fees, with an understanding that our furry family members health and well being were the priority.I'm sad to say this is without doubt not the case. I could give many details but will offer the following. First, I was lied to by one of the gals in the office and told they could not provide me with the prescription that I paid with a visit that cost over $300. This is not only unethical and against their stated guiding principle, but it's illegal.Unfortunately asserting my rights to the prescription was met with hostility and threats of not being allowed to bring my animals there anymore. After more than 30 years and countless animals. And once I got the prescription it was for a medication that is so old and out of use, you can't obtain it from anywhere else other than Dr Lohr. You can come to your own conclusions about this, but no matter what direction you take there are zero positive conclusions to arrive at.In any case, I'm done. No thanks.

Just took my new 3 month old Green Cheek conure to see Dr. Lohr, he and his staff are very nice and knowledgeable. Didn't feel rushed and answered all my questions!!

I chose Nile Point Vet because it was an easy walk from my house to the office. They have been nothing but kind, even while chastising me for feeding my dog too much. I recently had to put my little dog down and Dr Lohr and staff were compassionate and tried to make it as stress free as possible for me and my precious Garbo. And I really appreciated the sympathy card they sent me. I plan on bringing my new puppy there whenever the puppy and I come across each other.

Because of my daughter having a bad experience at this vet. They refused to see me. I had no idea that my daughter sent an email until just now. I am not her and her experience or response should of not been reflected on me.i will never refer them to anyone.

This facility has lost all of its charm. I have not even seen or talked to Dr. Lohr since May of this year. I thought he was professional but as of late, he has shown that not only is he no longer professional but doesn't take the time to see you with your pet. It's all done through his incompetent staff. My six month old kitten was taken two weeks ago for her spay surgery and that was a complete mess. I thought we would get to see the doctor but nope, his incompetent staff member came in with her with an e collar that is for dogs not cats, it was awful. She couldn't access her food or water or even use the box with it. We called the hospital line to ask what to do and they said to remove it and put it back on. Well, it was easy to remove it but putting it back on was a no. My daughter and I proceeded to try to get it back on her for four hours with no luck. I called my nephew, who's kitten had just been spayed two weeks prior and thank goodness my niece brought over the one they had which was the correct size. Dr. Lohr's staff needs to wear an e-collar to understand what animals actually go through with those stupid cones. They could have told us that she would need one, my daughter spoke to them several times the day before, there are a multitude of choices on the internet and we could have had something already here for her that was much less cumbersome. I'm disappointed in his office and will not be returning with ANY of our pets.

My bird injured her foot and needed some care. I called and was offered an appointment within an hour of when I called. I took Sunny to this clinic and was impressed with how very clean it was. The other thing that impressed me was how genuinely nice and caring everyone was. The doctor told me her leg was not broken. He gave her a little shot after weighing her (102 grams). He also mixed up some medicine and showed me how to give it to her.We had a follow up appointment last week. Our feathered family member is back to eating, flying, jumping, her foot is close to 100% well.Thank You Nile Point, you helped a sweet little bird in her time of need.

Dr Lohr and staff are top notch! I have taken a couple of different birds there and he really knows how to treat them properly. I seldom have to wait more than 5 or 10 minutes. He costs a little more than I would like but it beats having to drive to another major city to find someone with his expertise.

I really miss them having weekend hours and a kennel to board our dog at...but you won't find a better, more honest veterinarian than Dr Lohr. I hope he never retires!

Dr. Lohr has been our vet for over 20 years. He has cared for two or three of our dogs and several cats, more than one of which were strays. We have never met a more caring and gentle vet. We recently had to say good bye to our "Lucy" - one of our two indoor cats that we've had for over 18 years. Dr. Lohr and his staff were extremely gentle and caring with Lucy and with us. We appreciate his professionalism, but more than that, we are thankful for his genuine love of animals.

The staff is friendly.Took my dog in because something was bothering his ear.Appointment madeShowed up 10 mins before appointmentWasnt seen till 20 minutes past appointmentWas given a story about his ear them having to put him asleep and recovery and over night and boom 500 easy.Well i dont just have 500 laying around so i have to wait.Two days later. Dogs ear just fine. Stuck my finger in there just to be sure it wasnt sensitive. Dog happy and back to normal self.Soooooo what the f was i going to pay 500 for?

I have been taking both my felines to Dr. Jordan, Heidi and Dr. Norman Lohr for Vaccinations and what ever ailments and health concerns. I am Very happy with their diagnosis, an prescribed medications. I hold him this establishment in high regards and at the level of seniority as I did with Dr. Banks of Bakersfield Veterinary Hospital. Dr. Lohr and staff are amazing people. They explained everything regarding our little guy's illness. They never once made us feel like a couple of dum-dums. On 3/15/21 I took my dog Lucky in for the rattle snake vaccine. He also had another shot that was needed. I was charged a $58 exam/consultation fee & told to come back in 3 weeks for the second rattle snake vaccine shot. Took him in today for the second shot. He was taken back for shot and gone 2 minutes & I was charged another exam/consultation fee of $58. I think this is wrong and I will not be taking Lucky back.

Took my Dog in for surgery this morning to remove a tumor. Their very kind and thorough with the pets. Doc explains in detail of what to expect. I give great recommendation for this hospital!

They are not taking any new clients and that should be posted on here so people know. Especially owners of different breeds like birds since this is the only vet I can find in this city that will see birds and the fact that they canโt even fit me and my small parakeet in for a check up and referred me to a hospital in LA that is two hours away is super frustrating. Since they are the only hospital that sees birds in this area they should allow exceptions for those less common pets.

From 7:30 am I was on the phone calling down a long list of vetanarian and pet hospitals trying to find someone to see my rat who was experiencing a medical emergency. After approximately 20 phone call my anxiety level increased. Already feeling hopeless and helpless and expecting another "No we don't/can't/won't," I heard a sweet, kind and compassionate voice say "how about 4pm?" Today! I couldn't believe it.. when I arrived with Ratty Raider all the office staff was kind, caring, and compassionate.. and even tho it's the end of the day close to quitting time no one made me feel rushed or worse yet less than.. I rescued ratty from an house where the prior tenets abandoned him... He's been a great pet, he has a great personality, and he's part of my family. I want to thank the doctor also for his time, his knowledge, his gental manor, but most of all is that he took the time to check out a pet in crisis regardless of the type. A pet is a pet and for some these pets are family and the connection unexplainable. Ratty was given a 50/50 chance at survival with medication. But this morning he had a 0% chance because everywhere else said No... Thank you doctor and staff for saying YES!!I also want to give a big thumbs up to the tech who weighed Ratty and assisted the doctor in the exam room.. you definitely deserve a raise!! I had to euthanize my baby paintera she wasn't a baby 9 dog years but she got cancer didnt want her to suffer but the people here are the nicest you can meer!! So polite respectful and understanding I with all my heart recommend this place
