Back in the mid 80s when I was in high school 501 Levi jeans were very popular and Miller's Outpost in the Valley Plaza Mall was the place everybody went to get them. They were expensive there but I had discovered that Floyd's sold the same jeans for quite a bit cheaper. These jeans had been around since 1873 and were nothing new and Miller's Outpost was banking on a trendy fad. Recently I needed some window screen hardware and needed it that day. Walmart wouldn't have it and Floyd's was very near where I live. I drive by Floyd's almost every day and I think about how long they have been in business, which is a testament to their solid business and reliable stock of infinite hardware for any kind of project. When I got to Floyd's, I was immediately greeted by an employee who knowledgeably directed me to the aisle I needed, which was in the very back of the store in the Screen and Glass dept. I marveled at all the plumbing hardware as well as the discount prices on various tools. But what I especially liked was the boots and clothing dept. I'm a grandma now and I saw the cutest hot pink plaid toddler cowgirl shirt and boots and jeans too! My granddaughter would look so cute wearing that. I just want to say I appreciate Floyd's and I hope my community continues supporting their business because Floyd's is the original DIY store and has been there for my community since 1952.

Came here like I always do when doing a project around the house. Found my wood stain and epoxy varnish. Also a bunch of stuff for my trucks engine!!! On sale!!! Crazy awesome find.

Update: still no weeding tools, but god bless them, they are my favorite small hardware store near home, i am in love with their clothing offerings, reinforced (double layer thigh/knee) wrangler ATG pants are fabulous for hard work and $15 cheaper than Amazon, so go get some. And the employees are knowledgeable regarding diy home improvement.They lost one star for not carrying even one weed pulling tool. I mean no standing or kneeling/hand tools... not one... and literally not one out of 6 employees knew what a weeding tool was, not one, even the middle aged gentleman who was running the Garden Center.Otherwise, everything was good, and the employees have always been friendly and helpful.

Great selection and the customer service was awesome. You wouldn't even know it but there's a clothing store inside and they got a lot of clothes to choose from great deals on the wrangler long sleeve button up shirts.

I went into Floyd's they had everything I needed to do the job they're little bit pricey but they do got a friendly staff friendly service every time I ask a question I got help right away so I definitely recommend this place

We love our local home improvement store. They are friendly and extremely helpful. Also knowledgeable.The items here are definitely overpriced but they have good old fashioned vibes and serve really good popcorn

This is definitely a better alternate than home Depot and Lowes. While it doesn't always have the variety the bigger stores have and prices are a little higher it's well worth the kind good customer service and the fact they have a no hassle return policy.

This store has been a part of my life for a long time... I use to enjoy shopping there, Now it is better to order on line and just stop to get the items. I am sorry for the bad review, being treated like a criminal is the way of the world. I would rather go to Walmart or Home Depot or Lowes.

NOT A BIG BOX store yet they seem to have everything in about the same price of a big box store maybe a little bit more but well worth the walk if you know what I mean. In other words I don't like to walk three miles and spend a half an hour at the store looking for something I can't get any help with. Not so with FLOYD'S. There is always someone available to answer questions and these people are knowledgeable with real world experience. Not some liberal arts graduate of three years past that tells me I'll find how to do that on YouTube.Keep on trucking FLOYD !

I drove all the way from the north end of Bakersfield to this store just so that I could find someone knowledgeable in a plumbing department. Other hardware stores are much closer but I wanted to go where I could ask questions & not be looked down upon for my inexperience. Screen & glass dept (which has helped me before), directed me to Mike in plumbing. Thank you for being helpful & knowledgeable.

Floyd's has hung in there across decades, offering services nobody else does. Been shopping here since I was a kid in the 70s, my grandparents were loyal customers too. I hope they can survive another 75 years

Mike in plumbing is so patient and such a great teacher. He does not talk down to women. What I love most, is that he anticipates other problems that you might conceivably run into, so if something happens, you are not caught off guard.My thanks to an extraordinary business that provides service that you cannot get at a big box store.

Good Old Fashioned General Hardware Store. Helpful employees, wide selection of pieces (almost too many) the definitely have whatever your repair needs. Price is a bit high, but thats expected from small locally own business
