This store was very enjoyable to visit. The staff and owner (and even all of their fish) were very inviting, friendly, and knowledgeable and were more than happy to share info on all of the different fish they had in stock. I walked away a happy customer after I purchased some fish and a couple supplies, and I would definitely recommend their service to anyone looking to buy fish or that might even just be curious to learn more about the hobby and see the beautiful examples of fish and tanks they have on display here. The owner and staff were very welcoming into their freshly established store which is in its earliest stages and I'm sure will continue to flourish in its development of becoming a much needed asset to the community. Very excited to have them here and always happy to see an independent business blossom into something special which I'm certain this one will! Amazing store! I traded in my demasoni cichlid and devil cichlid and got 20 dollars store credit. It’s was reasonable and I had also bought 3 fish all prices were very reasonable and there were huge fish with bright colors and also very healthy. Very nice fish and very smart store owner. The fish are not aggressive and you can also exchange fish too! Owner was not pressuring to force you to buy the fish which some fish stores do. He answered all of our questions and I will definitely be coming back to trade in more fish when buying a bigger tank!

We went in 2 weeks ago. I was looking specifically for Discus for our tank. They had exactly what I wanted at what I thought to be a very reasonable price. Everyone there were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. I will be returning for more fish soon. My new favorite fish store!

Decent store but horrible customer service. I would recommend not buying any custom lids. We have them EXACT measurements and when we got it, both sides were way too big, the glass broke when trying to attach the needed plastic piece, and the glue holding it together was falling apart. When we called them, they denied they were wrong and never offered a refund or to redo their mistake. I would not recommend doing business with them.

Very good customer service, very friendly and easy to work with. If you buy a fish from them and it gets too big for your tank they will take it back pretty cool! I brought in some fish that I didn't buy from them originally and they took them in no problem! They have a cool assortment of common fish but also some odd ball fish of all different sizes. If you want to see a huge Red Tail Catfish they have one, very awesome to see in person!

This place is a little over an hour drive but worth the drive time. They have expanded a bit and have a decent stock. Their employees are the best. Extremely helpful and patient with me. There may be other stores equal to their service, but none better!They stayed open during the worst times and I respect that a lot! While we still are living in cautious times, it is so good to see small businesses still standing! That alone is worth supporting.But I make the 2-1/2 hour round trip because they can't be beat in customer service, selection, price and knowledge as a complete whole.I truly cannot express in words the value of good service as it becomes repetitive and doesn't really explain it in the true sense of value based shopping.In any case, I highly recommend a visit so you can see for yourself what I am talking about. Be patient with them, they may be giving someone their undivided attention and service as they will gladly do for you!!!Help support small businesses like this during this hard time. They, and many others count on us and cannot be beat when it comes to service and care.Peace

Great place so many different options. Staff is polite and very helpful. I would definitely recommend this place to someone that needs help. They could have let me buy some fish when my tank wasn't ready but they had me hold of for 2 weeks until the water was ready.

All the fishes looks clean, proces are way cheaper from Petsmart and Petco. The sellers are very knowledgeable about fishes and tanks :). Highly recommended!!!

We found this shop about a little less than a year ago. We went in just to browse and see what was in store. We were greeted by the owner Pat. He had a variety of different fish. The fish weren’t just the average fish you find at pets mart. He had some amazing huge fish. We had a small 38 gallon tank. After visiting the store a couple times we ended up buying a 100 gallon tank and stand. Pat was awesome sold us everything we needed to make the big change and gave us great advice on how to keep it going. If there’s a fish he didn’t have he would get it for us. When we moved to our new home he moved our tanks and fish with no losses. We have bought over 40 fish from Fish and tanks and have never had a problem with customer service or the quality of the fish. By far the best fish store in Bakersfield.

Best value/service fish store in town. I’ve been going here for years and the owner, Pat can help you with about everything you need whether it be livestock (fish/coral/etc) or aquarium supplies. This is the #1 go to store in town. Owner is reputable and truly cares about his clients. If you have any issues with fish dying especially from his store he will address it, he’s personally replaced a fish that died 2 days later. Don’t be fooled by other inexperienced reviews about this store, this definitely is the GO TO spot for your fish needs!

Great staff with true knowledge and care about the customers needs. Pricing is amazingly affordable! So many fish to choose from for fresh and salt water tanks. If they dont have what you want, they even take your info to notify you when the fish or item is available. This will be my fish store from here on!!!

They are expanding. More supplies now. They have fresh and salt water. The tanks have the usual fish, but they will order for you. Average tank care, you'll probably bring home a free snail. I'm happy for them that they are thriving and expanding. I will keep going there.

I'm new to the fish keeping hobby and I have had a lot of fun creating my tank with the help of the staff. They have been a great help setting me up with plants that will grow well in my low tech tank. Their prices are also very reasonable (many things being cheaper than they would be at chain pet stores) and they are able to order stuff for you (fish & plants) if you want something that they don't currently have in stock. I will definitely going here from now on for all my aquarium needs.

I'm a starting hobbiest trying to start up a beta tank and these people were so sweet in helping me find out what I needed and what to avoid grouping up in my tank. It's nice to see that we have a community in Bakersfield that can give some help with this kind of stuff I will definitely be coming back and you guys should take a look

This is a great little shop. Pat, the owner, always keeps a wide variety of good-quality livestock on hand at prices that put local competitors to shame - I never cease to be amazed by how many different kinds of fish he manages to cram into that tiny space! To sweeten the deal, if he doesn't carry something you want, he will find it for you, whether it is a fish, invert, or supplies. His staff is knowledgeable and honest about the things they sell, as well ... they're not going to tell you to throw S. American and African cichlids in the same tank just to make a sale, like the big box stores!

So incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. I went in search of some aquatic plants and food for my frog and the folks in here helped me find exactly what I needed. The prices are great and there was plenty to choose from. Don’t waste your time at big chain pet stores, shop here!

The workers there are very nice & knowledgable & the prices are very reasonable. It's a very small shop & I did notice the fish in a couple of the tanks didn't look very healthy & had several dead fish in them. Not sure if they were quarentined tanks or actually selling fish from them though. There were some very large fish in very small tanks which was kind of sad. They did have a great selection of Bettas @ a way more reasonable price than PetCo & they appeared to be much healthier as well. I purchased a Betta along with a red parrot cichlid & angel fish who seem to be very healthy. They have some great prices on food that I intend to try next time I need some. I will buy fish here before anywhere else in this area. Aquatic Pets has a nice selection too but their prices are on the high side. Wish we had more of the small aquarium/fish shops like we used to! I would recommend this shop.

Nice 'mom and pop' kind of store. Not very many fish as you would expect a tropical fish store to have. The store is very small. The staff is very friendly and very knowledgeable. I'd go here again.

I have a 55 gallon fresh water tank and full of fish with life. Thought I go look around for new fish. When To this shop and bought 3 fish. The same day one of the fish dies so I go return and when I get there the employee tell me they don't have anymore of these fish anymore but when I bought it the day before their were like 10 of them in the tank. So he offers me anoth fish that looks kinda like it but it was cheaper. I told him that was ok and give them the benefit of the doubt. So I take the new fish home and samething happen again with the new one and dies. So I got feed up and said screw if I'm not going back. Couple days later his other fish die along with 12 of my fish died. Now my fish were fine for a long time before I added his fish into my tank. I would recommend not going here becuase their fish are not healthy and will end up killing your tank. Becareful people
