"I advise you not to bring your pet here because they are only concerned about making money and they will try to cheat you. Personally, I took my dog to this clinic as my old vet retired and my dog needed medication for her allergies. The doctor examined my dog thoroughly and claimed that she may have an autoimmune disease called Lupus. However, the doctor took advantage of my concern and had his assistants give me an estimate of $1,175.00 for various charges such as x-rays, blood work, medications, injections, and so on. I agreed to it because I wanted to know if my dog actually had Lupus. I left my dog in their care and received a call eight hours later that she could be picked up with her medication. When I asked about their diagnosis, the assistant said that the doctor wanted to perform additional tests, such as a urinalysis and other exams. I refused because I felt they were just trying to take more money from me.When I arrived to speak to the doctor and asked him about his diagnosis, he said that with all the exams, he still couldn't determine if my dog had Lupus or not. He even admitted that no other vet in town could determine it from those exams. I was upset and demanded my money back, but he refused. I felt that he was a dishonest doctor who only cared about making money."

I do not recommend this vet. I took my chihuahua there because his back legs where not working. I waited two hours after my appointment time. When I finally got to see the vet he did a very minimal exam and said he would do X-rays and they would contact me with the results. I questioned that because our regular vet always reviews the X-rays immediately with us. He said he can only tell if something is very obvious like a broken bone. I asked what are you doing for him today he can’t walk, he hasn’t eaten in two days he hasn’t used the bathroom in two days. He clearly needed help that day. He gave steroids and told me a pain medicine and sent me on my way after six hours they couldn’t tell me anything other than he needs rest. I called my vet the next day and they got in him and the steroids where for a dog triple his weight and the ‘pain meds’ where a joint supplement that had nothing to do with the problem he had. When they called me back to give me the x ray results all they said was he needs rest!! This cost me 722.00 for them to do nothing and prescribe medicine that was completely wrong for my pet. They have zero compassion for your animal. I will be filing a formal complaint with the veterinary board also.

I usually don’t do reviews but this has to do with the safety of my pets. This happened awhile ago so im not sure if the same people work here.Took my dog here for a checkup and bloodwork and he literally spent the entire day there. For a quick checkup. And just waiting for my dog to be seen took over an hour..Staff was unhelpful and dismissive as well as a bit disrespectful. Every question i asked was either answered with another question or completely disregarded. Seemed to not know what they were doing at all.0/10 i only gave 1 star because it’s required for a review

Clara and Shelby went out of their way to give us a great vet experience. My dog has been traumatized and was terrified, they were calm, professional and VERY helpful. Dr. Mahal was great, too!

I'm never bringing my dogs back after going unnecessarily into debt for this place. My dog was pooping and throwing up blood so we took him here as they give the quickest appointments. Every time we can we sat in thr lobby for an hour minimum so the appointment time was very pointless. Thry seem ridiculously understaffed as well. We were charged 3k for 2 x rays, 1 set of blood tests, and 1 set of fecal tests. They tacked on all sorts of extra charges and insisted it was necessary. Some examples are sedation for 50, vitamin b for 40, anti-inflammatory for 50 etc.... thry took 5 days to get back to us on thr conclusive results of his testing and x rays. I called every day and they said they'd get back to me soon. We couldn't wait any longer and took him to the vca as an emergency visit but it only cost 400 bucks for the exact same treatment. They didn't have to sedate my dog and they didn't give him 40 different injections and shots that each cost 50 bucks. They were much quicker and efficient. They eased our concerns and gave us the same medication but in 2 bottles instead of 7. I'm boggled at how I feel like a vets office was negligent towards my dog and his test results and how 90% of the itemized bill felt very inflated and unnecessary. Of course they insisted everything was necessary but the fact that we got the same tests abd exams done at an emergency hospital quicker and for 7% of what all critters hodpital charged is infuriating and mind boggling. It really felt like a money grab when I looked at my bill

My boxer had mites, ended up costing around 800$ in total for a ton of weekly shots and then finally a pill that actually worked after countless injections. Then took my other dog in for itching as well.. 469 dollars for them to tell me it's not what they tested for and it's going to be another 74 for the fungal culture. Tried to get my cat in for a spay.. first they wanted to schedule an itial visit for 75, then preoperative oppointment with blood work and then the spay.. like 3 appointments for a spay? The man upsells horribly and really only cares about getting paid. My dog has never met anyone who wasn't a friend until he met this guy, he hates him.

I was very impressed well they take care of customers and their pets. Easily made an appointment, was seen on time, and didnt try to upsell me on anything. Quoted price is exactly what I paid. Very hard to find a place to assist with rabbit needs. They did a great job and my rabbit is a happy camper. They also have a lobby with exotic birds and fish. Very soothing.

I have 23 pets and I always come to this vet for their checkups or if anything is wrong they are so nice here and very professional they have very good prices this is the cheapest vet I’ve been too their definitely not doing this just for the money and I love that.

Our beloved boy Pluto started acting different. He was a senior dog and my biggest fears were seeing him suffer and losing him without being able to say thank you and goodbye (I had another pet that was euthanized by the vet before I could get there and didn't get to be there for her in her last moments).After seeing his change in behavior I called our usual vet. They would not be able to see him for another 8 days. I took the "work-in" appointment but then over the weekend Pluto got worse.I asked a friend who has various pets to send me the information of the vet to where she takes her pets. She gave me the phone number for two vets. The first would not be able to see Pluto until April! Then I called All Critters and they offered me an appointment the next day in the morning. They were so compassionate!Since vets are so expensive I don't always have the means to take my pets to the vet. The staff at All Critters understood that. They never made me feel like a bad pet parent. They reassured me that they weren't there to judge. They just wanted to help me to help Pluto.After mending him up and bringing him home Pluto suffered a seizure. At that point I knew things weren't good. I rushed him back to Dr. H and his staff. We discussed the masses in his chest and what that all meant for Pluto's quality of life. The doctor and his staff were so patient and gave us our time. My daughter and I were there for him in his final moments after all the years he had been there for us. We hugged him, and kissed him, and thanked him. With the efforts of Dr. H and his staff not only was Pluto was able to go home one last time to see his little four legged friends and all the family that cared for him but he was also able to rest with dignity and surrounded by love. Thank you Dr. H and all the staff at All Critters for bringing us comfort during a very difficult time. 💛

AKA All Critters Animal Hospital. They were perturbed when I wanted to get the medication they presctibed through a third party for a cheaper price and did everything possible to block this from happening including repeatedly not responding to (FAX & e-mail) & hanging up on the pharmacy when they tried to verify the prescription. It wasn't until I happened to be on the line at the same time as the pharmacy & demanded that they verify the prescription that they finally did. It took weeks! Meanwhile my pet was suffering needlessly. They are unprofessional & incompetent. I reported them to the vet medical board. I had seen some poor reviews on them, but needed emergency care for my pet and they were the only place available. Now I know why - no wonder they have plenty of appointments available! Since this time, I have spoken to several other vets & people who care for animals who also had poor experiences with this "vet" and had a very bad opinion of them. I will never take any pets there again nor would I recommend them.

Wonderful experience! My sweet 30 year old box turtle needed her nails and beak trimmed down. So, as this place is listed as the best for turtle care I gave them a shot, and we couldn't be happier! My sweet girl was a little nervous since she rarely meets new people, but the doctor and his sweet staff were very gentle and made my girl very comfortable! She came back out with her nails all did and a fresh beak all ready to eat with, no signs of being mishandled or anything-- just a happy tortuga! Will definitely be bringing her here from now on. Thank you very much All Critters!!

You know that feeling of nausea you get when your pet is hurt and in pain? Well, this doctor made that go away. Most cats don't tell you they don't feel well. Instead, they go find a quiet place to hide. Not my Rufus. He's very verbal and made sure to tell me he was hurt and in great pain. The poor thing got his toes cut up somehow out in the new yard, perhaps atop a fence. I'm brand new to the area and I spent a day emailing and calling vets near me. Most don't bother replying. Because of the shortage on vets, many tell you they can't take on new clients. Now you can double that feeling of nausea. Out of desperation, I called VCA and they referred me here. Miracle of miracles, They were able to see Rufus close to immediately and I'm so grateful to VCA and Jared and Dr. Mahol. Rufus didn't put up a fuss at all while the gentle Dr. examined him. He and Jared cleaned his wounds nicely. Rufus was really at the borderline of requiring surgery. I'm ashamed that I skipped stitches and other precautionary steps the Doctor advised me of such as blood test and x rays. We are going to see if these wounds can heal on their own with some nursing and medicines they equipped me with. Jared explained that Rufus would be in pain no matter what procedure and that he had a decent chance of healing without the precautionary measures. Poor Rufus! I didn't realize the new yard also had fleas and now he cant scratch with the cone and hurt feet! (Using a flea comb for now.) Thank you guys for helping Rufus to feel better and getting him on a better road to recovery. It's been 7 days now since he was treated and he is recuperating well.

Don't waste your time or money. I came here for my guinea pig who had an enlarged eye. The vet did a physical exam but did not tell me if he saw anything unusual in his eye or if it looked normal when looking at it, he just said they would need to run more tests. He left and eventually 2 techs came back to the room telling me it would be nearly $1400 for all the tests and medications they wanted to prescribe. I understand exotic vet care may be a little more pricey in some regards, and while they gave me the option to pick and choose, the doctor did not come back and explain any of it, just the techs. There was no direction on a path to take or, hey, let's just start with this one step/test first and then go from there and see what we find. They just present the whole book to you and make you decide. I left with just the exam fee having no more answers than when I came in. I had taken other negative reviews with a grain of salt and wish I would have just listened and gone elsewhere.

One of the few vets that will accept rabbits, but I decided to go to another vet.Their waiting room was not very clean, nor was the exterior very inviting. I was waiting a while even with an appointment.I browsed reviews while waiting and decided to take my pet rabbit to another vet.Don't waste your money.

If I could give zero stars I sold. Worst Vet I have ever encountered. They charged me $687 for a rabies shot and 2 x-rays, then wrote down something completely different than what they told me my next option was. I asked them to send my dog’s records to another local vet and they refused, saying they will only refer to 1 specific specialist. The facility was dirty, smelled horrible and the doctor and his assistant didn’t seem like they were comfortable handling animals. If this wasn’t a stray from the orchard that needed his rabies shot I would have waited for another local vet. What a horrible place. The lady that runs the driving school told me she’s seen them lock an old lady outside in the rain before. If you care about your animals you’ll find a different vet.

Tried to get a refund staff was extremely rude. Put me on hold mid sentence. When I asked for a refund the first time they hung up on me. Staff laughs at you like a bunch of children. Can’t care for your pets. Can’t keep the place clean for the safety of your animals. My pet came back worse than when I brought her in.. they use a credit card to open my pets mouth. DISGUSTING. Their fish tank was disgusting.. I am a pet care associate and will never be coming back. These people do not care for animals. Wouldn’t be surprised if they genuinely like hurting animals with how they treat them! If I could give 0 stars I would. Might change their name again cuz they can’t handle criticism

If you love your pets, DO NOT bring them here. Total check up with parvo shot and meds $200.00. My dog is hard of hearing and the Dr. did not notice during check up. Told me he had week joints and muscles. and wanted me to spend $800.00 on X-Rays. Why if we know he has week muscles and joints. He's 15 years old. Just did not like this place.

The staff is nice but the treatment choices are questionable. Took my kitten here because she was having episodes of breathing hard and fast, almost like she was suffocating at times. The vet didn’t think an x ray was necessary and said she probably choked on some food. I trusted his judgement. Emergency vet later found major organ issues thanks to an x ray. Also, I later learned that the flea treatment and worm treatment they did was out of the ordinary and required way more follow up appointments than the usual treatments. Should not have paid $200+ for them to not even x ray her.

Extremely overpriced compared to other comparable Vets. Wife brought our Yorkie into them for a 1/2" cut / walked away paying $800 for stitches/surgery medicine etc. This could of easily been glued...regardless our regular vet on Allen Rd wouldnt of even charged half of that. I just want to thank Dr & his staff for giving my dog Bean the treatment he needed. He had a lot going on with him & if it wasn't for them he wouldn't be with us today. He has liver failure which is a long slow disease. Today he is eating, drinking & running around like nothing happened. Thank you guys for extending his life & giving him more time with us. We are truly grateful!🙏😊

My pet canary got sick and they accepted her as a new patient. Dr. Mahal is very kind and he was very attentive when I was describing her symptoms and my concerns. He explained her condition and her treatment plan thoroughly, making sure I did not have any doubts. I recommend this place.

Horrible service can't even give me an idea what's going on with my dog they just wanna keep charging me to bring him in to tell me absolutely nothing and they don't follow up with anything no proper explanation apparently nothing is wrong with my puppy who has server lumps in his throat and now covering his body thanks to they're ignorance and wanting to wait and wait and wait highly do not recommend 1300$ for nothing medication that's not working and then simply just saying come in today and we can reevaluate him when everytime they say the same thing we just have to wait for results. They have half his results and won't give me any but his blood test that shows chronic blood infection and he's severely anemic other then that they don't know anything it's so hard to get into a decent vet these days I swear. 😞 It makes me sick how little they cared. 🤢😞

Would not recommend. I went here out of desperation…$1600 later and still no answers about my sick pet. I had to call 3 times then return in person to wait for an hour to talk to the doctor about test results, and the doctor still said nothing definitive. Took my cat elsewhere for the same problems 4 months later and they gave me answers in half the time for half the price and with better treatment of both myself and my cat.

Horrible experience!!! Beware! Dishonest! Shady! Money Hungry! Not Compassionate at all! NON-REFUNDABLE SURGERY DEPOSIT, that they don’t inform you of until you’ve already paid the deposit- once they’ve already got the money out of you, they hit you with the “surgery deposit is non-refundable.” Which forces you into the surgery or you just lose $200. Unbelievable.Backstory:My dog’s Vet, At the Oaks Vet Hospital, closed due to the doctor moving out of state. I was told Bakersfield Pet Vet was accepting new patients. Never even hearing of this vet prior, I was skeptical but didn’t have much time to keep looking for another vet so I made an apt for my dog here as a temporary replacement to get his prescription filled until I could find him a good vet. My senior (13 year old) dog, has Hypothyroidism and takes meds for it twice daily so I needed to get him seen to get a prescription filled. The main reason I brought him in. Well prior to his apt, I found a small lump on his side, decided to get it checked since I was already at the vet. This then became the main focus of the doctors. The doctor did not communicate with me what he thought the lump might be, if he was concerned with it or not, and didn’t really talk much at all. He walked out of the filthy room i was in and sent his assistant in with a paper and list of costs for treatment which included $1139 worth of charges for them to run bloodwork, LIGHT sedation, the removal of the lump, and meds for after the procedure. To which they wanted to operate IMMEDIATELY. As in that same day, in that same moment. Jumbled and confused as to why they wanted to jump straight to surgery, without even aspirating the lump or taking any type of biopsy of it, I made him an apt for that next Wednesday instead. To which they told me a surgery deposit was required. Well they failed to mention that the surgery deposit was NON-REFUNDABLE. Not being aware of this, I called and left a voicemail cancelling his surgery to which I received an email that said the following:*please see screenshots in photos to read email

I had recently taken my cat to be seen with Dr. Singh as my regular vet was out on vacation and the Doctor was amazing with my cat. My cat had a broken femur and punctured lung. Dr. Singh checked the whole body of my cat including the brusing on the chest, broken femur and the excessive air that was in the skin. I have never seen a vet check a cat like the way he did. He explained to me how it was likely that my cat was hit by a car based on the injuries and the doctor took the time to look him over.I really liked that he explained to me what needed to be done and answered any questions I had. I did not feel rushed at all. Dr. Singh gave my cat a few medication as he couldn't have surgery yet til the puncture in the lung healed. I did follow up and went back for my cat's check up a week after that. I had a great experience and thought the prices were fair.In the end, I chose to go back to my regular vet for the femur surgery only because All Critters does not do overnight care. I felt more comfortable knowing that my cat would be taken care of at my vet after having a major surgery and would be at a veterinarian incase something happened. I will definitely go back to Dr. Singh whenever my regular vet is unavailable. I highly recommend this place.
