Good fish store. Tanks clean. We were Oscar shopping 1 day and was told and paid for a "lemon" oscar. She is an albino. We love her still, but not a lemon. She is extra large now!!! Very tiny when we got her.

This is a very nice, calm, relaxing, and fun to shop at. They have alot of uncommon fish here that you won't be able to see at other major store like petco and pet smart. They have a lot of great supplies, food and will help you to decide for anything when you ask. I would come here again and again to support our local fish store and highly recommend anyone to give this a try!

Good place for corals, saltwater fish and inverts, freshwater fish, tanks and supplies. They have RO/DI fresh and saltwater available(best to call ahead for large quantities). The staff is always helpful, friendly and accommodating.

I have had a great experience. They get to know their customersand I appreciate that.I bought my aquarium from them and Larry picked the perfect starter-fish. They are all still alive almost a year later. I only buy from them.I have made the mistake of buying fish at other large chain stores... they die everything. I bought "live" plants online and they came anything but alive.Spend the little extra to support a great local store and and extremely knowledgeable staff. I love this store and love the personal, patient(LOL), friendly, knowledgeable service. If they don’t have what you are looking for, ask about it. Steve, Melissa and Larry will always make time. My husband and I won’t make a move on our tanks, buying fish or adding corals without consulting them first, as they have earned our complete trust. We drive an hour each way to their store just because they are our FIRST choice in buying ANYTHING having to do with our fish tanks. They have never sold us anything we didn’t need or weren’t ready for. We have always gotten healthy fish from them, even though that is not always guaranteed when fish have to go through the stresses of transportation and new environments. I HIGHLY recommend Bakersfield Aquatic Pets as your first stop for Fish Tank/Aquarium inhabitants and supplies. See the picture of our discus tank. Look, I know the big box stores are easy , air-conditioned etc. But this is a small business that deserves patrons, it's a clean, well organized place, with some really really cool fish, that are healthy, well taken care of, they have a few tank options avaliable, coral, saltwater fish, and alot of other neat things, go check this place out, you shouldn't be disappointed

Believe it or not I bought a fish at another store and forgot to get food for my new friend so when I got home and discovered my error sought about to find some substitute for the flakes. I tried crumbled dog biscuit, opened a can of sardines for a tiny voice of tail, and finally a very small catapiller who kinda just floated on the surface and wiggled. All three strikes. So I left my new Glow In The Dard pal, 'The Green Lantern' outside in a converted Birdbath. { come to think of it, a fish in a birdbath is not a good idea either }, but would have been a different Blue Jay Way, at any rate my new tropical fish was going to spend the night in 56f weather, in a glass bowl inside a birdbath overnight without food alone ... back to the plot line ... Did I mention that this little guy was netted out of an aquarium, put in a plastic bag, given a shot of air & rubber band wrapped to get in a truck and be driven to a torture chamber. The next day swimming sideways The Green Lantern' is no doubt ready for a quick trip to any deserving plant in the garden or booked on a cruise to the Pacific, but Eureka, a turkey baster saved the day by blowing bubbles into it's prison, { give me credit for not blowing my exhales into the bowl and killing h with Co2 } ... a slight revival imsues.At this point, I've all but killed the poor little fella. So to Bakersfield Aquatic Pets who Gave me a lot of advice and Free flakes after hearing my story.

The owner was very helpful and recommended the best fish for my tank. Prices are very good and is local so you will be supporting a local business. The employees are very nice and answer all of my questions and there were a lot. Also, they gave me algae that I needed for my tang she. I couldn’t get it. Lastly, the owner remembers his customers and what they have and need so it is very beneficial. 10/10Edit: they can order whatever fish you need and don’t raise prices when others do.

My favorite fish store! Customer service is always awesome. The guys here are always sweet and very helpful.They keep their tanks well maintained and have been my go to when I need to buy my fish. I have always gotten healthy happy fish from them.

Good place to shop. Fish sell fast so if you see something, Better get it that day. I wish pricing was show better for fish and corals. Hate to keep asking what the price is on the corals over and over but they are friendly about it. I know Bakersfield must not be a big reefing town but I wish they had more frags and selection of corals but I guess standard for the area. Been to other stores in other areas and they had way less corals and no help so this store is great,

Awesome. Awesome. Awesome Disneyland has nothing on this place. I love walking in and just relaxing. The fish are beautiful. Both freshwater and Salt and the coral displays are like a candy store. Best fish store ever 👍👍

its always a pleasure going here if i could i would go everyday. the staff could be a bit more talkative but they are friendly nevertheless they let you browse around and they aren't all up on your business once you let them know that you're just looking. i recommend this place 100%

My first experience at this store. I’ve been to many fish stores all over the country where I’ve lived and these guys prices are some of the best I’ve seen. Especially for live rock. Very knowledgeable staff and super friendly. Definitely will come back!

You don't come here come for the absolute lowest prices in town. No, you come here for the amazing customer service, diverse selection, and thethe knowledgeable staff. I've been in here a few times, got me some plants and these guys give you a very fair deal. If you're in this hobby this is the best Bakersfield has to offer. Great owner and nice guy. Highly suggest you support this shop

Highly recommended. Healthy fish with friendly helpful staff. Don't see what you need, just ask them and they might be able to order it for you. Great prices too, usually has deals if you buy say 5 of one fish species. I have to drive further to get to this fish shop but it's totally worth it!

Beautiful fish, great selection. Their tanks are so clean you can tell they love fish. Very knowledgeable, polite. I've bought several fish there, and they are very healthy. Love this store. Worth the drive for me😊

Steve is amazing he takes care of my tank. I honestly dont know what I'd do with out him. Hes honest charges honest prices and actually cares about his clients. He is always getting new live stock in. If your looking for something special he will get it for you.

They have species that you don't normally see in the chain pet stores. Their prices are a bit higher. They don't have much as far as aquarium supplies goes. But their fish tanks are kept pristine & their fish are well cares for which is the most important thing. I will continue to purchase my fish there & Highly Recommend them for unique, healthy fish.

They were very nice and helpful and took extra measures to ensure my satisfaction when i visited this store in search of advice and supplies- some of which they lacked in stock but certainly made up for with their service. Their pets are well kept and the store is very clean. The staff were knowlegeable and friendly and made it a comfortable shopping experience.

The quality of fish here is top notch. I buy all my fish here and it is always a great experience. I wouldn't reccomend buying anywhere else. Prices are good, service is great, the owners are amazing very knowledgable people and can answer any question you have and not try to push you into buying something.
