we absolutely LOVE this store!great selection of fish, plants, aquariums, hard scapes,chemicals and food.owner is awesome and knowledgeable! he explained so much to me and took his time and was genuinely happy to educate me! we talked for over an hour and left knowing so much more and are extremely excited about our aquarium we have and can't wait to purchase an aquarium from from here. everything we need is all here in one shop!

It's great to see an aquarium store like this in Bakersfield. Jeff, the owner, has everything you need to start a proper high or low-tech planted aquarium and the knowledge to answer any aquarium questions you may have. There's an impressive selection of fish, invertebrates, rocks, driftwood, substrates, fertilizers, lighting, tools, CO2 systems, and more. This place is the real deal. Whether experienced or looking to get started, Aqua Nature Aquarium is definitely worth the visit.

Aqua Nature is a wonderful store. As a beginner aquarium owner I couldn’t be happier to have been referred to this quaint and wonderful store. They have a wonderful selection of all types of fish, a large variation of beautiful plants, accessories and more. The staff are so very nice, helpful, and knowledgeable (Jewel😊) Every time I’ve visited they have helped me with every question, concern, or problem. Today was my first time in and I loved it as soon as I opened the door to walk in Cory was so knowledgeable and very helpful he took time to answer all our questions and took the time to show us a variety of all the different types of freshwater shrimp that we were looking for we were very impressed with the overall experience of this store.

I wish I could leave more stars! The staff is so smart and friendly! We had an Oscar that was on the verge of death by fungus infection. She helped us make a treatment since we lost fish before and didn't wanna loose the Oscar. The Oscar is now swimming healthily and getting better day by day. Couldn't be happier.

My first impression of the store was, oh geez it’s a tight fit. Once I was settled in the store had a lot to offer.I would say it’s a hobbyist store definitely catering to reptile and aquarium community. Definitely the best in Bakersfield. They got just about everything you require for basic to advanced set ups.I was completely blown away by the live animals. The love and care for them is superb. They have a vast array of live plants. Even thought the space is very small it’s organized. They offer a variety of live feeders which is a huge plus .The staff is helpful and resourceful.I can go on, just go and visit. I assure you, you won’t be disappointed.

Such an amazing place! Jeff is so knowledgeable and personable! He takes the time to explain and educate you on anything you would like to know more about! If he doesn’t know the answer he will take the time to find the answer for you! They truly care about their animals and want to ensure that they are going to homes where they will thrive and be taken care of! If you are looking for a place that cares and if you’re like me who doesn’t want to go to corporate stores who don’t care about the animals than this place is definitely for you! I’m very grateful that I found this place, they have helped me so much recently! They are honest and truly good people!!!!

I can't tell you how happy I am that this store exists. I wish I had discovered it sooner. I've had nothing but trouble buying plants online, and now there's a fish store in town that has tons of good healthy plants!! The tanks are all clean, the fish are healthy, the plants are healthy. I've been waiting for a good, reliable local fish store that specializes in freshwater and now it's here!

My daughter and I checked this store out for the first time about 2 months ago and were very impressed! Jeff is amazing and very knowledgeable! We have a couple of goldfish that are struggling and he has been super helpful! We will be upgrading our tank in the near future and will definitely be coming back here for plants, fish, driftwood and whatever else we need! Thank you Jeff, for being so amazing and helpful! This store is pretty immaculate for a fish store. As a hobbyist for over 12 years, I’ve wished to have a store that I can go to that is esthetically pleasing and this place has that. The view from exterior does not give the interior of the store justice. They have the best plants and the best plant advice I’ve ever had. It’s been a week now and boy I can finally see my plants growing. My failed two years of growing and melting plants and buying lights after lights… Jeff, the owner, gave me advice, that now I’m seeing the difference. Folks I’ve found my newest go to guy for plants and certain fish. Jeff is knowledgeable, he’s a hobbyist with true “know-how”. He is building his store to carry more fish, but plants and other tank supplies are top notch here.

Definitely a hidden Gem!!!!! Very helpful I thought I was going to have to go to different shops to get my used 75 gallon fish tank and water filter going. I was able to get everything I need and more. Without a doubt greatest customer service and the best thing is knowing that your purchasing from a establishment that actually has knowledge, and experience. This place is amazing! I came with my sister to look at their Bettas and get some plants for her tank. Let me say this place is such a diamond in the rough, the tanks are absolutely gorgeous and everything is so perfectly maintained. I'll definitely be coming back for plants, Bettas or shrimp. Great service! Jeff was very helpful with my questions! I am not local to Bakersfield. I drove from tulare county. The reason I was intrigued by Aqua Nature Aquarium is there partnership with Aquarium Co-op. I'm a big fan of Aquarium Co-op for sometime now and a member, I was pleased to find out that Aqua Nature honors the 5% discount. They carry a wide selection of Aquarium Co-op supplies. I bought multiple different fish and they are all doing great! I recommend this place even if you have to make the drive to get there. It was well worth it for me. Thanks again! I'll be back soon.

Having been in the aquarium hobby for a number of years now, I have seen few fish stores as nice as this across California. This is by far the best fish store in town. Everything is pristine, the fish are very healthy, and the owner is very knowledgeable. If you need anything fish-related, this is definitely the place to go.
