It is what it is: A tall thermometer - and a gift shop. It's 134 feet tall, because 134 degrees Fahrenheit was the highest temperature measured when they built it.Don't expect more than what is on the picture. It's nice for a 5-10 minute break, but not more.

The World's Tallest Thermometer is a steel electric sign in the city of Baker that is 134 feet tall to commemorate the hottest day in the Death Valley, occurred in 1913 at exactly 134 Fahrenheit degrees. It was built in 1991 by the Young Electric Sign Company for Willis Herron, a local businessman. After falling into disuse due to high electric bills, it was reacquired by Herron's family and made it operational again in 2014. Around the base there's now a diner and a gift shop.

It was an alright visit, nothing to exciting about it. Just like that we were able to visit a little piece of history (more then half my life this place was closed/off.) glad I finally got to really explore it.the flat penny machine cost a dollar. T-shirts range from about $20. Cute little cute stuffed animal of a bird with sunglasses think it was about $15.(might be wrong) Magnets are like 5$. I personally, really like the wall of money from around the world a collector myself. Clean store, clean bathrooms, respectful Clerk.I think it’s a good place for a picnic lunch on a not so hot day.

Stopped by the world's tallest thermometer on the way to Vegas, and it's a pretty cool roadside attraction. The towering structure is impressive, and the accompanying gift shop offers a variety of souvenirs and trinkets. The staff is friendly, making the visit even more enjoyable. If you're looking for an interesting pitstop, this is definitely worth checking out – a unique and memorable experience along the road to Vegas.

The world's largest thermometer is a bit run down, but it's a cool and unique attraction to visit. In addition to the thermometer, there are also other fun things to do on site, like using the penny smashing machine and using the bathroom. Overall, it's a fun and memorable place to check out.

The guy working inside was top notch, I learned about the whole state in 30 mins. He showed me and my elderly mom all kinds of cool out of country money. I highly recommend stopping in there. His customer service skills warrant for a raise!

It sure is tall and the area sure is hot. The thermometer is just off the highway, so it is very easy to get to.Park across the street, so you can actually get a good picture of it. There is a small gift shop at the site.

I heard about the World's Tallest Thermometer on a show. Never thought I would see it in person. I was visiting Vegas and heard about Alien Jerky. So I took the 90-minute drive to Baker, California, and behold the World's Tallest Thermometer!Being out in the dessert in September was still relatively hot. The temperature was sitting at 98 degrees Fahrenheit. When you're minutes away from Death Valley, it does get hot.The gift shop was nice to browse around and, of course, had to get a souvenir proving that I've seen the tallest thermometer. The staff was super friendly and answered questions about the place. If you're driving through Baker, I recommend stopping by, taking a photo, and picking up a souvenir.

Was indeed quite tall, cute gift shop. Only attraction this way besides the Zzxyz Rd sign but it was fun. I put it on my list for two truths and a lie. The gift shop was quaint but cute.

Was pretty neat. But Baker, CA very dirty town in desert with abandoned and destroyed buildings at all over. Trash everywhere. Was 111 degrees there but dry. Eat at Denny's like we always do going from Vegas to LA. About 2 hour drive from both ways. Gas very high here. $5.39 a gallon.

Neat little attraction super close to the freeway. It was not crowded and they have a visitors center with clean restrooms and fun souvenirs. The staff was very kind. There is a fast EV charger as well.

Cool to see but you don't need to drive off the road. You get a brilliant view of it just driving down the freeway!

Tall, cool and one of a kind in the world, simply awesome and a unique place to wait. Family and I from San Diego, Los Angeles and Modesto decided to meet here before driving up north to Death Valley National Park... We planned it so well, we all met there within 15 minutes. Great landmark!!!

The thermostat is tall. There is small gift shop called 134. Cashier was friendly. I went here to get coffee. They don’t have freshly made drip coffee, but just keurig pods.

The thermometer was easily accessible from the freeway. Took some awesome pictures. There is a cool Alien spaceship (Alien Fresh Jerky) across from here which is so cool. Kids would love this place.
