First impressions - Young man taking orders at the register needs to have a better knowledge of the menu, show some personality, preferably smile and be welcoming. That said, my half tuna sandwich barely filled half of the half piece of bread. I requested it toasted and was told - not on a half order. What?Food was bland, potato salad was the only thing with some flavor. The outdoor patio was the highlight, as it faces the walking trail and trees.

1st timer business trip. What a delight little market with local goodies to buy and take home.Plus food- a delicious breakfast burrito with sausage (3 choices from chorizo sausage, pork sausage, and mango chicken sausage) with homemade salsa - Yum!Delicious lattes too or drip coffee or ice tea.NO MORNING CHEF ON TUESDAYS = NO BREAKFAST.Would definitely come back here and check out their dinner menu and sit outside with a book.Lovely spot!

I wish google had a zero star rating. The service at Woodstone in Avila is terrible and sadly the food is even worse. My spouse ordered a pepperoni pizza and the waitress, who we tipped generously at the counter, brought out a cheese pizza. When we stated we ordered a pepperoni, she fell just short of calling us both liars. She stated she can take the pizza back and make it a pepperoni, as long as we pay 4.50 extra. We agreed and paid. What came back a short time later was an abomination - a handful of pepperoni slices literally just dropped in the center of the pizza. We actually had to distribute most of the slices evenly on the pizza ourselves. The worst was yet to come - the pizza tasted like it was bought frozen in a grocery store and just put in the oven for 20 minutes. We are members of the Avila Bay Club and were hoping to find a nice place to eat at regularly. We will never return!

If you are allergic or suffer from food intolerance, this place may make you very sick. For example, the salad pictured was billed as gluten free, dairy free by the order taker/cashier. It came with a vinaigrette that I poured over it. A vinaigrette is normally gluten and dairy free: it’s normally composed of vinegar and olive oil for a light, zippy, heart-healthy salad dressing. One can add Dijon mustard for some flavor complexity and creaminess, maple syrup or honey for a little sweetness that balances the vinegar, garlic for oomph, and salt and pepper — but cheese? Who serves a vinaigrette blended with cheese proceeds to a customer that made it very clear she will get sick due a casein (milk) intolerance if served cream, butter, or cheese? Cashier’s attitude was condescending and self righteous when asked about this post fact. Money was refunded, but I will now be sick for 3-6 days. Avoid this place until staff and things are better informed and accomodating about allergies.

Had a good experience here. The food is better than average and will definitely come back. They were closing soon so we did feel a bit rushed, but that's common for many businesses. They had a decent wine selection and is a good place to stop along the Bob Jones trail for a snack

FOOD POISONING! Don’t eat here. My husband and I decided to have lunch on the patio. Two bowls of soup and we split a chicken sandwich. This was 2pm. By 5pm our stomachs were gurgling and we were feeling nauseous. By later in the evening it was obvious we were both suffering from food poisoning. The ONLY thing this place has is location. I would not ever eat ANYTHING from there again except maybe buy a package of saltines and take my own water to the patio. DON’T eat their food! You will regret it for days!!!

Lunch was wonderful. The weather was great to eat out on the patio. I am looking forward to revisiting for dinner. They have a daily special, and the week's list looks very yummy.Vegetarian options: They had several vegan and vegetarian options.

Repeat visit for lunch with friend..nice setting. Food is above average. I had a turkey sandwich on ciabatta bread. Cold cuts. I recall this this sandwich being real turkey on a croissant. The patio tends to have yellow jackets but there none this time.

4 out of 5 stars | I got three sandwiches, the Italian, chicken Philly cheesesteak, and the grilled cheese sandwich with chicken. The Italian sandwich was pretty good, but it was way too greasy and the salami was very strong. I personally would not get this unless you really like Italian sandwiches. The chicken Philly cheesesteak was kind of confusing to me. I personally thought it was steak, but I didn’t re-close enough. It was chicken when you buy that make sure to check. The grilled cheese sandwich with chicken was really good. Probably my favorite by itself out right the charger for it at five. It was really good and I recommend that to everybody. The service was really good. It was self seating and you can bring your dog there’s fountain drink so you can pick what you like from the options. I would recommend this place to a friend and you can go here after a long hike.

Wood stone Market Place is located on the Bob Jones Trail. The food and coffee are very good. There is a charming patio that looks out on the trail. It is a great place to stop for refreshments.

I'm giving this place 5 stars for convenient location, beautiful setting, the food is good and cute trinkets. Right off of Bob Jones trail and is always our go-to stop for lunch on our walks. Been coming here for about 15 years! My only issue is that some employees are not friendly and on a couple occasions, quite rude and mopey. Obviously the good cancels out the bad for me (considering I still visit)... but worth making a note that it'd be even better if there were always more pleasant attitudes here to greet and serve customers.

We stayed at the Avila Village Inn and this restaurant was within walking distance. For breakfast we had a delicious prime rib egg dish with spinach, onions and peppers, which was the special of the day. It was a quiet relaxing place to enjoy or meal.

Ordered the turkey burger, and girl taking the order put the order in as a veggie burger. My husband went to clarify the order and the girl at the register was arguing with the cook about how there is no turkey burger on the menu. The cook said yes there was.....and had to show her. My order came out wrong and got attitude from the rude girls taking orders. Not really interested in going back and dealing with that drama again. A simple "i am sorry" would have gone a long way. Do'n't bother with this place.

This place is in the perfect spot for a quick rest on the Bob Jones trail. I haven't eaten here, but my parents have and like the food. We tried to eat here one day but the kitchen was closed (we happened to go the one day the cooks had a day off.) We have gotten drinks (juice, water) here, which are rather expensive. (I paid over $5 for a mango smoothie, the kind in a prepackaged bottle that would maybe cost $3 elsewhere.)

Access while hiking, biking or driving between San Luis Obispo and Avila Beach. Runs alongside Bob Jones Trail. It's an oasis with killer coffee , cleanliness and great service - kitchen, deli and sweet delicacies. Full service dining

We have had breakfast here several times. The food is fresh and very tasty. Breakfasts generally come with potatoes - I’ve had the quiche and today had their scramble that was on special - so so good. Nice fresh spinach, tomatoes, roasted red peppers and bacon. The potatoes are also fresh, not frozen. It is becoming a regular spot for us on our trips to the beach. We have also had great service from a very friendly and accommodating staff. We love it here!

My first time here and it was wonderful. Indoor seating is roomy and dark. The outdoor seating is shaded and right next to the bike path and across from the creek so you can expect to see plenty of people especially parents and their little kids exercising along the path. You can expect to here plenty of nature sounds.Great for drinking your coffee or tea, reading a book, we're having a quiet visit with a friend.

Quaint little market and deli. Friendly service. Food was excellent! Lots of menu options and delicious treats too. Nightly specials. 5 minute walk from our hotel, Avila Village Inn. Located next to Bob Jones Bike Trail as well. Perfect for place to grab food for a beach picnic. Also has indoor and patio seating. A delightful surprise! Will stop here again!

Was so excited to try this place. My husband and I thought we found another local gem, but after waiting 55 minutes for our lunch, we were brought the wrong food. I got up and asked for my money back. They said of course, but then our meal was ready which were only 2 cold sandwiches. We sat and ate. I never got my money back and it wasn't cheap! 2 sandwiches 2 drinks a bag of chips and tip was about $50.00. The whole experience was over 1 1/2 hours for 2 sandwiches. Horrible service!

Bathrooms closed to everyone. Over the top rude cashier. Ordered lunch for my wife and I when I asked to add drinks to order was told it's too late. Already submitted order to kitchen. Asked if I could make a separate transaction to purchase drinks. Eyes rolled. Was over the top nice despite her behavior. Other customers were waiting patienly while others were served. Really used to love this place as it's close to the walking trail and beautiful. One bad egg can spoil the while experience. Thank you to the athletic club that allowed me to use restroom as cashier was sending people a mile away to the trailhead restroom. Doesn't take much effort to be kind. Nor sure we'll be there again but if so would be nice to see a smiling face from an employee that enjoys their job.

Went in on a Friday night to try the wood fired pizza but was deeply disappointed with a pie that was all cheese and very sparce toppings. The "marinara" sauce had no flavor and tasted like a can of tomato sauce. Cant recommend the pizza. Great glass of wine. Staff was friendly enough until I offered my critique of the pizza.

Friendly staff! Felt welcomed. I was looking for breakfast meat to cook while camping but they did not have any refrigerated meats. The young gentleman at cash register sold me sausage that they use on their menu. I was so grateful! Thanks for great service!
