Wonderful food, view, and service. We sat at the bar and the ladies serving us were delightful. Our food came out so fast and the locals were so pleasant to chat with. Definitely better than any touristy place downtown. I almost don't want to post for fear it'll become overrun, but they were so nice I want them to do well. Thank you from Wisconsin!

Visited here Saturday lunchtime, it was quite busy. Atmosphere and views were amazing however food wasn’t that impressive. We ordered kids meal with chicken strips and fried seafood combination, i didn’t get the fresh taste that i expected since restaurant just by the docks. They’re dog friendly, have few beers on tap but good selection, i also see people enjoying their cocktails i bet they’re good on those.

Best bargain quality seafood with a view on the docks! Skip the downtown Avila Beach tourist trap restaurants and go here! Just minutes from the main beach. Enjoy a peaceful stroll along the pier passing by sea lions, otters, and people on kayaks to the restaurant. Service is professional and prompt. They make sure you get your food right away. Get the classic fish and chips and crab Louis salad because they're delicious and fresh. There is limited seats inside and more outside, so bring a hat and sunglasses. There's also a bar inside.

Best spot in Avila area for on the water views of seals & sea otters! Just a short walk down the pier but there is some (very little) parking on the pier’s end if you need to drive. Easy seating inside or out. Seafood dishes were delicious and vibe is very chill and relaxing. We had crab cakes, Crab Louie salad, and blackened fish dishes. This is a must-try place!

We ordered way too much, but ate everything as it was delicious.Good range of beer, great views from the end of the pier.Would have had a better time if my English "friend" had let us sit inside, but he was "on holiday" so we sat in a freezing gale

Being local to Santa Barbara, we have always missed this little gem on the pier. Now that we have been able to make it, we are now wondering what took so long."MUST HAVE" - New England Clam Chowder and the Shrimp and Chips. With food this good we will go back. But, we will "SHARE" a plate because lots of good food is served here. Best Chowder we have had on the south coast, the best shrimp I've ever had, hands down, well flavored too.

Nice relaxing place to eat.Everyone we dealt with was great, even though they were busy. We found a sunny spot outside and enjoyed the fish and chips and beautiful view. Lots of seals, otters, pelicans, seagulls, and other interesting things to look at.Limited Parking is available way out on the wooden plank pier. A friendly Officer was giving parking tickets, so be sure you pay and put receipt on your dashboard.

This place is a hidden gem!!! Very good food. Most friendly servers. Great outdoor seating with a prime view of watching sea lions interact and argue lol. Also great viewing of all the boats as it is right on the pier. Was told Fridays get packed at the bar area and on Sundays, they have a band that plays from 11am to 3pm! Definitely will be back to catch it. Also this a great place for kiddos to eat.

Always loved Merseas. Been coming here for years. I highly recommend this is over FatCat (whatever the F it's called). Menu may be small but food is great here. The little bar section is nice also.

Very cool place to grab a bite or get a drink. Indoor or outdoor seating. We sat outside and tables have overhead heaters. You get to watch all the sea lions argue and interact. Great place for the kiddos! Kids menu as well as good array of food choices. It's right on the pier and the servers were most Courteous and friendly!!! They have a band that plays on Sundays from 11am to 3pm. Sweet spot you gotta try it out! I ordered the Tuna sandwich, daughter ordered fresh fish bowl, husband ordered burger and garlic fries! Noticed they have a bar and was told it gets pretty crowded on Friday nights!

Beautiful location on the water. I would call it a hidden gem, when your on land you can’t really see it. But with that beautiful walk on the pier, it just a pleasant surprise. There is indoor seating but the views of there outside seating is must see. Seating fills up quick. So best to divide and conquer to get a great view. Food was delicious. Beer is cold and has a full bar. I would say this is a must visit stop. There was live music today, that just made the visit even better !

Oh! My! The best food! I was not in the mood for fried food. I chose the grilled fish and vegetable rice bowl. Fish was light and flaky. The vegetables were cooked well with a slight crunch and the rice had a light parmesan flavor. My honey had the chowder bread bowl and the chowder was heaping/overflowing! Lots of clam chunks also!! Definitely worth the short walk on the pier. Plan your visit at a bit of an off hour. They get busy!

Beautiful view off the pier, but the food was disappointing. The garlic fries had too much garlic on them which didn’t taste good, the crab cakes were just okay, and the crab melt tasted like fake crab and not much else. It was pretty expensive for what we got. Wouldn’t recommend. Also, the bathroom was pretty gross.Crab cakes $14 for 2, crab melt $15, garlic fries $6, steamed veggies $4.Just keep an eye out for the birds! They’ll try to get your food sometimes if you sit outside

Out of the hubbub of Avila Beach at the end of a working pier is Mersea’s. Go. Order at the counter, grab a beer or cocktail and wait for delicious goodness. The fish n chips and clam chowder were delicious (Sep 2021). Cheeseburger was had by a friend and looked amazing. Prices were attractive about $15 for a plate of whatever. Menu included seafood, salads, chowder, burgers and dog. Open table seating on the pier, very limited seating inside. Free parking before you enter the pier. Walk is about 100 yards to restaurant.Another visit July 2022 and Marsea’s serves another fantastic fish n chips plate; had a bowl of chowder and a blonde ale too. Fish was firm and a good sized portion. Chips were shoestring with the skin on. Crispy and salty. Chowder was good n hot with bits of clams. I added tabasco for a lil zip. Service was great and staff were friendly and conversational. You can’t beat the ambiance with otters and sea lions below the pier. Find a porthole and you can see right into the water.Parking off the pier has been plentiful and I presume it’s free parking (a little unusual for a pier area) and I’ve never been cited while visiting. Three restrooms in the pier area which were clean.

Our favorite lunch place. We were able to park on the pier by the restaurant. $3 for 2 hours of parking. There is one bathroom attached to restaurant but there are more farther on the pier. We had the blackened red snapper fish bowls and crab cakes. Absolutely delicious!!

Good service, followup, food, clean place, and indoor and outdoor food. It's self service at the counter. We ordered the fresh catch bowl, which was like a plate, fresh vegetables and fresh snapper. Sitting on a bed of rice pilaf. Plenty of items on tbe menu for any taste. Lots of seating. A bar! Very casual. On the pier and waterfront. We will return!

The best clam chowder bread bowl I have ever had, and I have been to easily a hundred coastal restaurants with bread bowls. It's extremely crispy, the bread is soft and easy to tear and eat (unlike in SF where the bread bowls are tough as jerky) and very fresh. Wasn't a whole lot of chowder in there, if you are starved you might want to order a little something on the side. Restaurant is in an ideal beautiful location. A little pricey on the beer, food is reasonable. And entertainment! You can watch the birds steal someone's meal a few times a day. A family member got the combo fried seafood plate and shared, the calamari is incredibly tender and the batter is delicious. I absolutely want to come back again.
