Oh my gosh, this is my new favorite hotel! Our room directly overlooked the ocean, and the balcony for our room had 2 comfortable chairs and a day bed. We spent hours on the balcony mesmerized by the waves, birds, and scenery. As if that weren't enough, every night, they serve pie and ice cream. Love, love this place and will be back.Nearby activities: Right in the center of this quaint townWalkability: Easy stroll to the sand, shops and restaurants

A great place to stay. Right off the beach overlooking the ocean. The rooms are cool with a large jetted tub in the room. They have a rustic vibe that is pretty dialed in. Several great restaurants very close walking distance and the beach is a very short walk also. The rooms can be a bit pricey but everything on the coast is now. We have been there a number of times over the years. Just me being me...I may hold a bit of a grudge, I finished work in the Bay area and drove down 101 to meet my wife. Got in kinda late and in the morning asked for a late check out which was declined. So.. didn't really get to enjoy the room like we hoped and an extra hour would have given a chance to enjoy the big tub in the room. So I don't mind paying a price for something nice but was a bit offended they turned me down for the 12:00 check out. Won't ever choose them again if I'm coming in late. May just give me a chance to explore some of the other great options close by. Check out the pic of the door. Told my wife I may get one like that for our bedroom door:)Nearby activities: Lots of restaurants. I should have taken a pic of the view. Very niceWalkability: Can walk to lots of stuff really close not to mention the beach

Staff is very friendly and have souvenirs in the lobby like shirts, hats mugs. Roof hangout is awesome view and relaxing with chairs and fire pits. Injoy sunsets too and it closes up there at 9 pm. You take stairs to it.Rooms: Each rooms are differentNearby activities: Plenty of shopping and food restaurants near byWalkability: You’ll be doing a lot of walking and it’s up a hill next too shopping on the wall wayFood & drinks: They serve breakfast on the roof top but no dinner or lunch but they have pie and I think ice cream every night about 8 to 9 pm and they have a little dinning area if you want coffee and they have wine too. No restaurant at the hotel but they are near by.Noteworthy details: The parking can be tight. It’s like a small parking garage so my advice park in the pavement area where they rent bikes for free to ride. They have like a area that’s like a pavement back yard that’s fenced around. I didn’t know about this spot until I talked to the worker their about where to park because I have a truck and trucks and suburbans don’t fit in tight spots plus your more likely to get your vehicle banged up by trying to get in and out of your vehicle with another vehicle next to u

Of course right on the beach and kind of a beach vibe. The rooms are really nothing to write home as they're pretty small and basic with tile floors and simple amenities. The highlight for me was the rooftop area where they serve breakfast and you can also hang out if you don't make too much noise at night. It is a wonderful place to spend time with friends and family. The beach is right across the street and the town is lively, and of course that is reason people come. Cute little shopping and dining area just steps out the front door.

Lovely place right next to the beach. Gives you the Mexican casa feeling. Mind every in this place is crooked and has weird angles but that adds to the charm of the place. The staff was super friendly and if you forgot something for your trip to the beach they've got u covered. (Beach balls, boards, bikes, towels). The rooftop terrace is really nice to enjoy a bottle of wine during sunset and gives you amazing views.I'm giving the room only 3 stars as there was some wear and tear at places and it was a bit dark in general. (Could use some additional lamps). We really enjoyed or short one night stay! The room was clean, I wasn't having any issues with breathing the next day (dust allergies).

Wonderful stay. Great customer service. Nice added amenities like evening pie and ice cream. Breakfast on the rooftop provided by Joe Mamas was a extra delight. Rooms are just okay. Slightly outdated. Highly recommend a stay here.Nearby activities: Avila Beach is right across the street.Walkability: Everything is within a 3 block radius.Food & drinks: Plenty of restaurants, pizzeria, coffee shops and wine bars within a short walking distance.

We stayed one night here and I wish we had a bit more time. The hotel is super unique and definitely has its own charm. The rooms were interesting and different and you can’t beat the location or the view from the rooftop. We missed the evening pie and ice cream (which I’m bummed about) but did breakfast there and it was a lovely experience. The staff was really friendly and personable. Worth noting that parking is first come first serve so depending on the time of day it could be difficult. The bed frames were cool, but sit the bed so high that getting in and out of it was a little difficult. The only other consideration is that there’s no elevator and several floors of rooms. We had a baby with us so it was a little inconvenient with the stroller and luggage but manageable. Would recommend and would start here again.

Hello all who are reading this.I never write reviews (this is second one ever), but I felt the need to do so based on our stay at Inn at Avila Beach this past weekend. We’ve stayed at hundreds of hotels at all levels and all over the world. This was one of our best experiences. Darcel and staff couldn’t have been more accommodating, friendly, & knowledgeable of the surrounding area. The Inn is an older building, but that’s what gives it its charm. It was very clean, well maintained, and unique. All rooms were different (toured several) and we stayed in the Ford Theater Suite. We loved everything about our room, hotel, & staff. The rooftop area is a highlight. We usually had it to ourselves outside of breakfast times. Great place to relax, watch the sunset or just hang out.Our only complaint was we couldn’t stay longer. We will be back with friends & family in tow!Billy & Laura Bass

Stayed in oceanfront 305 Sweet room, slightly disappointed it didnt have the day bed on patio, but a cool little bar area. Hotel is awesome, great vibe, rooms are unique and its steps from the sand. Only complaint the rooms do get a little warm, and as soon as the rooftop cafe opened in the morning its all you hear from your 3rd floor ceiling.

Stayed here for two nights in a king ocean-view room. This is a lovely independent inn. Custom touches all over, and the rooms are all unique without being too quirky or folksy. Right across the street from the beach - walk to shops, restaurants - it in s all right here. No gouging for extras here - the true value is in all the amenities: free parking, wifi, breakfast, pie reception, popcorn, beach towels, beach chairs. The only thing they charge for are the bicycles. Our room, in addition to the amazing view, had an electric fireplace, super comfy mattress on the main bed, a daybed on the balcony AND a Murphy bed in the living area. Room comes with mini fridge, microwave, robes, iron, hair dryer. The shower is a fancy rain shower with extra body jets. Staff is very friendly. Breakfast service on the rooftop patio had a choice of 2 pastries and a choice of 2 quiches plus a full coffee bar.

This is my happy place. I've been coming to the Inn for about 25 yrs. Sure, the price has gone up... a lot, but what hasn't. Before covid, it was called an all-inclusive, with a coffee shop type breakfast, pizza & beer in the early afternoon, bottled water in the room, and late night desserts. After covid, the Inn sold, and some things didn't return. That being said, the room is clean, the service is good, the people are nice, and the view is the best. I can't imagine staying anywhere else.

Do NOT pay to upgrade your room! We stayed at the Inn this past weekend, to celebrate our 14 year anniversary, and it was a huge disappointment. We paid for the most expensive room only to find ants in the bathroom and throughout the suite, even in the bed! Not to mention the mold in the shower, filthy bed linen, holes in the patio screen, nasty toilet seat and cobwebs. The hallway in front of our “up graded” room was full of house keeping carts. The new ownership has NOT do the Inn any justice. We are local and will NOT be returning.Rooms: See photos. Not worth the money!

Very kind and attentive staff! The young man who checked us in throughly explained all the amenities and activities at the inn (my favorite is the rooftop breakfast overlooking the ocean). The rooms are very unique and I would 100% take an eclectic, interesting room over a hotel room that looks like a hospital. Wonderful location and I appreciate the covered parking. This is my second stay here and I will definitely be returning!

I absolutely loved my stay at the Inn. The location is perfect, right across from the beach and steps away from restaurants and shops. Parking can be tight at the hotel itself but there’s plenty of free street parking. The view from the rooftop deck was breathtaking and it was so quiet and peaceful. The rooms have plenty of natural light from the skylights and you can hear the waves at night if you leave the windows open a bit. The bed was very comfortable, giant hot tub in the room was so relaxing, and staff was friendly and helpful. Only downside for me was it was hard to find an outlet to charge my devices but this isn’t a huge deal. I’d be very happy to stay here again anytime.

The Rainforest room was amazing! A suite that is a small apartment. Fireplace and jacuzzi tub was not working @ the time, but no big deal. The place was still absolutely incredible!! The rustic wood framed doors and floor, the unique tile that reminds you of rain, the marble throughout the bathroom, the doors that look like you are walking into an Indiana Jones adventure. Wow!Then the window seat, small patio, and cal king-size bed. And the full ocean view, that they modestly describe as partial view, because it is set back a few feet.

This is an absolutely amazing inn! This was our first stay at Avila Beach, and the inn really was terrific. Our check in was quick and smooth, the ocean view room is spacious and very comfortable. My wife and I loved the unique decorations and feel too. My only concern was it’s a bit dark in the living area, maybe an additional ceiling light would be in order.Although the inn and rooms are incredible, it’s the amenities that move this place from a home run to a grand slam!First off, the fresh baked pie and ice cream every night was a winner (the apple was my favorite). Then you add in breakfast with a selection of fresh baked croissants (I loved the almond, the wife the chocolate) great coffee and espresso/cappuccino and quiche and I think you will really get the idea this is a wonderful place. But it’s still not done!!! There’s bottled water and popsicles available all day, plus microwave popcorn for the room. Then there are the bicycles and beach chairs to borrow to make for the perfect day at the beach. And what a beach it is too!!! There’s several little shops (hit up Reimers candy and ice cream, truly the best) and restaurants all within a 5 minute walk.Overall this is a totally unique and wonderful inn! The quality and service are amazing.

STAY HERE!! This Inn is one of the best places I have stayed on the Central Coast! The rooms are clean and cozy, perfect for a getaway. I brought my daughter with me and they are so accommodating because most hotels will make it impossible to stay. It is quiet and right across from Avila Beach. This place is incredible! Every single staff member we encountered was so genuinely friendly and kind, it was unbelievable. This is going to be our new spot when we come into town and I suggest you come check it out next time you come to the Central Coast!

This might be the cleanest room I have ever stayed in.It's an older (50s or 60s?) independent, boutique property, remodeled many times, and even if decor doesn't always "make sense, it is brimming with character and charm. The rooms are pretty modernized if a bit delightfully quirky. My "courtyard deluxe" room was spacious with a sectional sofa with lounge in the sitting area, enormous walk in shower, and an electric fireplace.Walking around the property with all the tile work and fountain feels like you're in Mexico (in a good way). There are hidden sitting areas amongst the staircases on the back side of the building and a fabulous rooftop breakfast and lounging area for guests. The complimentary rooftop breakfast & tea/coffee was good, elevated to great with the view. Pie and ice cream bar reception, complimentary bottled water, coffee, tea, and popcorn in the lobby area with a nice, roomy hang out grotto.Parking is off-street and covered and very snug. Rooms are 2nd and 3rd floor with narrow stairs so not ADA friendly. You can hear noisy neighbors through doors and walls, as is typical of this era and not to be helped. The price is reasonable, especially for the location. The desk staff were all wonderful.I LOVE THIS PLACE. As long as the prices remain reasonable, I will try to make it a point to stop over here on all my northern-southern CA trips.

Stayed here for my birthday weekend and had such a lovely stay! The staff goes above and beyond. They have complimentary water, popcorn, coffee, tea, pie and ice cream every evening and bomb breakfast in the morning on the roof top! It's very quite and peaceful! It feels like a completely different place by the sea and we cannot wait to go back. Gonna make this a tradition vacation spot :)

I love the view but the rooms are a bit outdated. Some of the amenities are also a bit hard to take advantage of - there's free pie and ice cream every night but in the four or five times I've stayed here, I've only gotten pie once. It's always scarfed down by the inevitable family that waits in the lobby for it at exactly the right time. The lattes on the roof are great but their drip coffee is not at all my style. It would be nice to have a dark roast option.

We stayed in room 314 and it was very nice. I love the amenities and how it makes the trip feel more complete. Unfortunately the fireplace did not work and the friendly staff were not able to fix it. Appreciate the guy that came up though.
