This is a resort style place so the rooms are like apartments. Some ocean view from my studio side room but still beautiful view. Room is spacious. They have everything a studio should have including a full 4 stove kitchen. The sounds proof is pretty good. Didn't really hear much of people running upstairs or any noice when windows are closed. Beautiful location. Difficult to book. We got lucky because someone cancelled their reservation on Christmas weekend. Will definitely come back.

We love this place, and come back whenever we can. Staff are friendly and helpful, rooms are comfortable and most have good views. So relaxing, we always hate to leave. It's an easy walk to the beach or to town.

Great location.Even with our partial ocean view, it was very pleasant. Layout of old.and.new.buildings leads to long walk to.room. nice pool and hot tube and realistic walk to.beack and main with resturants amd.wine tasting, some of which guests get a 10% discount .Very nice grounds.

I've been going to this hotel for about 30 years. It's been through many renovations which really enhanced the place. I just wish they made the addition on the side a little bit larger. The rooms are smaller than the main building and the ceilings are lower. Despite the tone down rooms in the extra wings, I would still recommend this place highly to everyone.Rooms: Full kitchens, roomy bathrooms, and very clean.Nearby activities: Great coffee at Hula Hut and great food at multiple locations within walking distance.

This place would be much better if they had food. It's walking distance to the beach and waterfront shops and restaurants. It would be great if there was a pedestrian path to the street/ beach. Maybe there is, but we didn't see it. Could be dangerous with kids. We almost got hit walking down the winding driveway and almost hit other pedestrians as we drove down the driveway.

This place recently converted to a Hilton property. The rooms seemed to be in good shape. However, Hilton apparently plans to upgrade them one floor at a time. Recommdation to them: outlets with USB jacks by the desk and bed.The staff was exceptionally courteous & friendly. And, the only way the location could be better is if it was actually on the beach. But, the views from some of the rooms are great.Lots of nice little restaurants & bars in the area. I will certainly return! The only negative was the $30/day "resort fee". At the same time, this was the only hotel in the area that seemed to be a resort, and yet they all seemed to charge resort fees. I guess having a pool & providing internet access is what constitutes a resort. 🙄 At least here you're offered pickle ball, tennis, volleyball, BBQs, corn hole, bocce ball, giant chess, etc.

Very nice hotel/Timeshare. They have a pool, jacuzzi, and 2 fire pit areas. The staff are very nice. Most views from rooms are beautiful. You can easily walk to the little beach town and to the beach.Nearby activities: Beach, in town wine tastings.Walkability: Very short walk to the beach and to the little town.

The hotel sits on a little cliff, with views looking out into the ocean. Depending on the room you have you’re able to see ocean or the bay that connects with the ocean. The front desk is nicely decorated and the front desk clerks are very polite and welcoming. They do have a concierge that has some information about there area as well a the timeshare consultants that do try to set appointments up with you. Depending on where your room is, you may have a walk to it from the front desk because of the way the buildings are situated. It does have have elevators to get to the different floors, always import for those who cant climb. The room we stayed in was nice updated and clean. They are making more updates to the hotel from what I heard from a few of the regulars/time share owners I met at the resort. It is with in walking distance to Avila beach, restaurants and shops but remember it’s on a hill. The main town of San Luis Obispo is a short 10 min drive and has the University as well as some nice shops and restaurants. It’s a lively small town. We had a nice time and would love to return.

Disappointing. Room was not updated. Several burned out light bulbs. Dishwasher did not work. Dirty pans in cupboard. Movie vcr for rent was aged and uninteresting. We traded a class A+ timeshare for this barely a class C. Except for the location I see no reason to come here bRooms: Dated, did not feel thoroughly clean.

Stayed here during a work conference. From the very beginning the service was great. Jean made sure we had everything we needed and helped us get checked in as quickly as possible. We each stayed in the 1 bedroom w/kitchen suites and they were beautiful. Would definitely come back for a vacation stay. Very clean, great view of the beach from our balcony. Also a ton of activities/ amenities. Recommend to anyone staying in the area.

Absolutely amazing location and beautiful place and rooms are amazing and very comfortable. The pool and hot tub were awesome the grounds were very clean and beautiful! The staff was great! Only small downsides were, The elevators were slow, one broke down. The BBQs needed to be cleaned internally and the pots were difficult to cook on the glass top stove.

Check in is not until 4pm but we arrived in Avila around 1pm I decided to go to the front desk just to let them know we had arrived if our rooms were ready sooner if they could let us know. WELL they were ready AND they let us check in right then and there! It was so incredibly nice of them! The rooms were nice! We got the two bedroom villa, so we had a full kitchen with stove and microwave which my mom appreciated! Our room even had cookware, silverware and dishes which I always appreciate when staying at nicer hotels. I grabbed some extra towels upon arrival since I know we would need them but later I did have to call for extra pillows, but the staff brought those in a timely manner it was great! The pool/spa area is insanely nice, because it has a toddler pool for the little ones! It was so sweet. The spa was nice too but almost constantly full, so if that's what you're hoping to enjoy be ready to watch and wait to scoop a free seat. They have a super nice dinning/snack area in the lobby where they have a variety of vending machines and you can just take a few steps and that is where the BBQs and grills are, there were a few quests while we were there who took advantage of those and wow did that bbq smell good!! They clean the grills regularly too because I saw them one morning giving them the rub down. Our room also had a beautiful view of the ocean it was like a dream, I honestly cannot say a single bad thing about our stay. Thanks so much for being so accommodating!

Beautiful rooms and an all around beautiful place to stay. Staff was friendly, helpful and happy! We love the grounds, they were well maintained and so clean!! Parking was easy and not crazy. We will definitely return!Rooms: Clean, plenty of space, great amenities like microwave, fridge, dishwasher etc.Nearby activities: Beach and beachfront dining / shopping is a few minutes walk, as well as the golf course, tennis courts. There's a small aquarium a few minutes walk as well!Walkability: Plenty of walkways and areas to explore!!

Rooms are spacious. We stayed in a one bedroom with a kitchen and balcony with partial ocean view. The pool is heated and clean. The walk to the beach area was perfect for us and we did it a couple times each day. There are many sitting areas and games to enjoy. Gas bbqs were clean and worked well. We were greeted by a woman who was obviously a timeshares salesperson, but she simply said hello and invited us to visit her when we settled in. She never pushed anything on us or harassed us when we never returned. There's a great tidepool area nearby (across the street and to the right) if you're agile and comfortable with climbing on rocks, but I wouldn't recommend it for young children.

This place is amazing. Seems to always be the warmest spot and the sunniest on the central coast. San Luis Bay Inn has a beautiful view of Avila Beach and Port San Luis. The boats resting in the bay is a calming sight to see and hearing the waves across the road is serene. The staff is so accommodating. They treat my and my family like family. I can't wait to go back.

Beautiful views, and the rooms are like apartment. This location is perfect for an extended stay. The only draw back is the early check out time. However, given the size of each room it's understandable the maid requires extra cleaning time. Definitely recommend this location.

Love, love, love this place. Location so close to the beach. A small walk away you can drive as well just down the street and turn to the parking area. The resort itself has a great pool area. They said it was 83 degrees in the pool but it definitely felt like the warmer was not on. However, still lovely with the sun beaming down on the water. Used the BBQ gas pit and that went well. First time for us using the hot tub area and it did not disappoint at all. This place has so many things I can't even place them all here. We go annually as a reconnect with family trip. I recommend this place and the area in general. Soon I'll hit the golf course that's just up the street from the resort. See you next year!

Rooms are outdated and small and Oceanview has rooftop by balcony so no real sense of ocean view. Bad customer service. Paid $400for a night, felt really ripped off for what I got. They even didn't allow late check out even though we checked in at 9pm. Only went to sleep there and I could have gone somewhere else and saved some money. They also charged a resort fee which was not included when I booked the reservation.
