Had the best meal here on Christmas Eve with the fam. I had the turkey dinner and it was great. My family was also all happy with their meals. The staff was exceptional going above and beyond for to make sure we were taken care of. Special shout out to Brian our server. Great guy who was so attentive and friendly. The guy who brought out the food was all smiles. Highly recommend.Kid-friendliness: We’re very accommodating of my little ones.

I had the pleasure of getting lunch with my parents and my girlfriend here. The food is nothing short of delicious idyllic French cuisine.Between the 4 of us we had the French onion soup, the Niçoise salad, and two trio combos ( croque monsieur, salad and chowder)In short, the view is heavenly, the service is impeccable, and the food is fabulous.Wheelchair accessibility: It’s all one level. You shouldn’t have trouble. Getting the bathroom may be a bit more difficult, as it is around the corner and through a door with a bit of a lip.

Great location and views. Food is simple yet delicious reminiscent of a French bistro. The patio has heaters to keep you warm live music was a special treat. Wine selection was excellent. Great place to people watch and enjoy a lunch or dinner.

Wow. We were lucky enough to have Angela as our server who made our anniversary night perfect as was the food. From the support staff to the owner this is a first class place. And the food was amazing too. Loved watching the sunset as enjoying an amazing meal. A must go place.

Can only give 5 stars but wish I could give more! From the ocean views and comfortable bistro-style seating to the excellent food and the lovely staff, this place is 💯! We loved everything we ordered and the staff was very knowledgeable of the menu and wine list which we appreciated. French cuisine in an ocean view setting = perfection!

This is a really pleasant and beautiful place to have a sunset dinner. The ratatouille was so simple, and light, yet comforting. The counter outdoors looks directly out on the ocean, and they have fun wine flights that let you do French wine tasting, which feels rare in California.Avila Beach feels so hidden, and so local, compared to touristy places nearby like Pismo Beach. The breezes there are warm and calm compared to farther north like Monterey or Half Moon Bay. I would love to come back again next time I am on a road trip.

The food tastes very good, and the French onion soup is great! Looking at the sea, listening to the guitars of street singers, and eating delicious food, it's so pleasant! It is worth mentioning that the service is super good. This is a restaurant worth trying.

Had lunch here/3 couples. Nice French brunch menu. Four people got the salad with a nice piece of salmon on it and two of us got the ham cheese mushroom veggie omelette that came with potatoes and a side salad. All were excellent and reasonably priced for being right on the boardwalk. Had a nice view of the sea. Interesting wine list. Friendly servers and since we were in a rush they got our orders out nice and quick. Would love to have dinner there at sunset!

Excellent french restaurant in Avila. Its right on the waterfront and lots of outdoor seating available. We had a tartare with quail egg. Also a Monsieur Sandwich. It was a hot day so also opted for a couple glasses of refreshing rose. Delicious and the perfect combo. The street musician on the skateboard was a disaster but what can you do. I think someone finally paid him to go away. Highly recommend.

Excellent food. Bistro salad dressing is light with great flavor and my husband loved the Caesar. I really enjoyed the mushroom ravioli- pictured- with a huge variety of mushrooms. Husband loved the chicken, so tender he could cut with a fork, and the beer pictured was delicious. Only 4 stars because they’re very understaffed and service was very slow- but nice and polite waiters. Would come back for the food!

Great vegan choices, including the avocado tartine. The daily special dessert was vegan the day I visited, a brownie a la mode. Both were very tasty! Nice outdoor patio with an ocean view. The staff is friendly and helpful too.

Stormy day in Avila. Booked a table early 5:30 and arrived on time first people in the restaurant.Charcuterie plate to start with …. Totally underwhelming except for the onion , I think, jam. Cold cuts and cheeses were boringly tasteless. The pate or fours gras type slices were tasty. But come on guys we have good and even great American cheese even good blue cheese ( Humboldt Fog).Madam had the croque monsieur , toasted ham and cheese, again the sandwich looked great but cheese was underwhelming. In the end she didn’t eat the toast. The salad was edible.I had the mushroom ravioli with chicken. The dish was not at all seasoned. And it’s embarrassing to sit there trying to shake table salt out of those ridiculously small shakers. The dish had shaved Parmesan on it but nothing like enough to flavor the plate. No bread was served or offered in case you wanted to mop the sauce which I didn’t.Half way through my ravioli I came across a kitchen error on my plate. Enough for me to return the plate at that point. I get it these things happen. It’s how they fix the issue decides me on a place.When the bill came they gave me 50% off the cost of my entree.We didn’t leave a tip.

Beautiful experience at Blue Moon Over Avila! We started with mimosas and the charcuterie plate. I got the roasted butternut squash ravioli which was phenomenal. Tasted like fall! My friend got the French onion dip sandwich which stated was delicious. We ended it with the cookie skillet and profiteroles au chocolat. Such a nice day! Highly recommend sitting outside for a wonderful view of the ocean.

I have been to Blue Moon Over Avila plenty of times, and the food and services have always been excellent. The outdoor seating has a great ocean view, and it can get a little nipping, so bring a light jacket.As a local, I would love to eat here more often though it's a high tourist area and the wait time varies.

I have been coming to this restaurant over the years and this year was a little different. I found the menu wasn't as authentic French as in previous years.However, generally it's a great restaurant and the service is excellent. I particularly enjoyed the knowledge and education from Giles, the wine expert, on some of the great French wines that they carry. That helped create a French experience!

My negative review is purely based on communication and cost. I made a reservation for New Year's Eve and I was never told that there would be a special menu and extravagant cost. We had a gift certificate and I ended up paying three times as much as I expected.That being said, the service is very good and the food was good.

You must eat here when you visit Avila Beach, and make sure you sit at the bar in the patio for the best views. The customer service and wait staff were excellent (shout out to Craig who made sure we were seated exactly where we wished to be and called us when the space was open, and ensured we felt very welcome at the restaurant). The food was also very delicious: I had the Catch of the Day which were scallops, with citrus flavors (orange, grapefruit), fennel, roasted garlic, and potato purée which is one of the best scallop dishes I’ve had in ages. My fiancé had the Louisiana Style Shrimp Pasta which was also quite tasty and prepared well (differently but it was exquisite). We look forward to dining here again!

Just spent our 15th Anniversary at Avila Beach this last week to such beautiful weather. This was such a Wonderful Place to have our little Romantic Dinner together! My wife and I both loved the delicious food, the romantic ambience, and attentive service. Made for a wonderful Anniversary and Memory!Thank you and Great job on this little Gem!

This has to be the best French onion soup ever. Not sure Why but it was amazing.Also great was the bubbling Brie and bread.As for atmosphere, the outside seating has great heaters during cold days and The view is of course wonderful for a sunset meal.

French Bistro, Bar and Restaurant with french inspired California fusion cousine.Had the days combined vegetable soup and the baby spinach and cold poached salmon salad, see photos. Delicious.My wife had the escargot (snails) and a Salad Nicoise, see photos. Also delicious.Finally an excellent restaurant in Pismo Beach/San Luis Obispo. Absolut tops. See photos of menue.
