Easy 5 star! My wife’s family has been coming here for almost 20 years and I’ve been twice now. The rooms are clean, spacious and just a hop and a skip away from the hotel pool. The staff is so friendly and welcoming. Housekeeping does a thorough cleaning job — replacing towels, making beds, and even dusting all surfaces. They offer free games like corn hole, ping pong and life-sized checkers. Outdoor lounge seating with gas fireplaces are also available. This place is SO close to the beach, so you can take a dip in the ocean and be back to the hot tub to warm up 3 minutes later! They offer nightly free cookies for guests in the lobby. The complementary breakfast was above-average, offering ham & cheese croissants, potatoes, meat, and much more. If you’re coming to Avila, this is the place to stay!My only complaints are 1) towels were scarce by the pool, and 2) you have to pay $15/night for parking in their garage if you don’t want to park on the street. But, the pros FAR outweigh the cons!Rooms: Spacious, clean and at least 1 TV in each room.Nearby activities: Shops and restaurants just outside the hotel. Beach is right across the street!Safety: Gated access to the hotel requiring a key card — very safe.Walkability: You can walk to everything in Avila from here.

We Love staying @ The Lighthouse, it’s our favorite staycation in SLO!! Our first visit together last year turned into a Must do again experience! We called and in 20 minutes we were in our room! Super professional but also super cool staff!So when we received an awesome email offer to stay from Sunday to Friday, we booked it and are currently Loving Avila and our perfect suite. Even with the stormy weather, All of the hotel staff members have been bright and joyful! Incredible customer service, down to playing cards for our room! Thanks😉 that was super cool!We will be back again and again, we love the rooms, our view this time is just as great as last time. (I’m pretty sure all rooms have a good view!)Thanks again to the whole crew that makes this place shine🌞C&JRooms: Amazing, comfortable and very well designed. Seriously that says it! Our rooms and our friends have All been super nice! We love sitting on the patios too. Also the bedding, linens and robes are awesome!Ultimate comfort☺️Walkability: Even in the rain walking in Avila is lovely every time, any time of day!Food & drinks: Everything you need is here in this cute beachy town. If you can’t find it ask anyone at the front desk, I can say from experience they have the answers! Also the bottle of wine that comes with the room is great way to start your vacay before even going into town.

We unexpectedly needed to stay in the area, and the reviews on your place stood out.It was a bit too expensive for our budget so I called it 9 PM on 12/19 and spoke with “Jenna” and she was very patient spending over 30 minutes having me to try to figure out which one of the discounts on your website would work. (It’s a bit daunting, figuring it out, especially with the gift card that was available during Christmas also).Because of her kindness and expertise, we booked 4 nights in room (223) w/ a wrap-around balcony which was perfect as we had a clear view of the ocean (thru the parking lot), & sparkling pool both.The AM breakfast (w/ indoor & outdoor seating) was chock full of delicious food, (even ham/ bacon croissants from a local bakery each day!) Plenty of assorted juices in cans, apples, oranges, bananas, cereals in their own packaged bowls, hot, scrambled eggs, potato slices & 2 waffle makers! Only suggestion would be to have ice available as the machines are far from the dining room.RAQUEL who staffed the dining room heard I was sick. Each day she’d gently ask my hubby how I was…what a thoughtful employee❣️The fully landscaped grounds are kept in immaculate shape with trees/pushes blooming even in Dec.The clean & perfect-temp. Hot tub & heated pool were soothing after a long drive.DAILY housekeeping (especially by stellar CLAUDIA was savored, bar soaps & lotions were high quality. Only recommendation; change the shampoo/conditioner/shower gel containers, as they are VERY cumbersome to use and hardly anything comes out.😜A variety of FRESH baked cookies in the lobby each day w/friendly staff also adding packets of hot cocoa with festive red cups was also delightful!We unexpectedly needed to stay one extra day. ANALEZA at the front desk helped us find a very good rate so we wouldn’t have to move to another hotel…she was kind, empathetic, & detail oriented. We’ll never forget how incredible she was!The King bed was very comfy, large tub appreciated, & being off any main road = SUBLIME quiet!

The room was super clean. We were impressed with the spacious two room King Suite. It had a living room with a flat-screen TV and a mini kitchen with fridge, sink, and microwave. The bedroom had a comfortable king sized bed. And off the bedroom was a small deck with chairs and table.We had a wonderful stay and look forward to coming back to stay at Avila Lighthouse Suites.Safety: The hotel and the adjacent street and walkways seemed very safe.Walkability: It was convenient to be able to walk to restaurants and shops. Plus the walkways and street were clean and nice.

I just can't say enough how wonderful this place is. Beautiful location. The staff here are wonderful and very accommodating. The rooms are fantastic. The beds are fantastic. We sat around the pool area with a fire pit going. I am sorry to say that the breakfast for free was not actually that great. On the last day we tried the breakfast and they served old potatoes from the day before, shriveled up dry.I actually did not even want to leave. We will be back. Thank you, Avila lighthouse. You guys are wonderful..Rooms: Rooms were beautiful, clean, comfortable beds. With a refrigerator, sink, and coffeeNearby activities: So many shops for clothes, shoes, gifts. Pierfront had snacks with your drinks. Great place to sit and sip wine while watching the ocean. We've stayed in many hotels throughout the area. This is now our #1 choice! The location is obviously excellent. The "partial" ocean view awesome!!! Absolutely loved it!. Room was gorgeous very spacious had all we need. Hot breakfast was good with lotsa options! Definitely recommend and will stay again.Nearby activities: beach is literally across the street

The location is the best! Literally couldn’t get closer to the beach. Lovely beach footsteps away. Nice pool with views to the ocean. Rooms are great. This time I got a room with ocean views. I have the sweetest private porch with two arm chairs overlooking the water. Life is great!The breakfast is not good but you can’t win it all. Made me find some great breakfast spots nearby.

We loved staying here! All the staff were so wonderful and made our stay very pleasant. They gave great customer service. The rooms were very nice and clean. We loved how comfortable the bed was, too. That makes a big difference when you can get a good night sleep. Loved being across the street from the beautiful beach. Perfect location. ❤️ We will definitely stay again soon.

Took my sister for birthday. Handicap room was beautiful, outstanding. Better than the Marriott in Hawaii last month. My sister was able to enjoy being on the beach. Thanks to Jack's Heling Hand of San Louis Obispo 💙. The ocean front room with balcony she enjoyed the sound of crashing waves. Quiet for relaxing visit.Rooms: Room had up to date handicap accessible for wheelchair. Beautiful design and colors.Walkability: Right on the main street, wak across to sand or down the street for stores and eating.

First off, my experience with them was fantastic, because I even screwed up the date on when I was supposed to be here, and they completely understood, and allowed me to change the date without any fees. Staying here my family and I’ve absolutely enjoyed our stay at Avila Lighthouse. From the room, cleanliness, the amenities, the full breakfast, the staff…we’ve always wanted to stay here too every time we visited Avila Beach, and now that we’ve got to experience it I highly recommend and will be returning here.Walkability: Perfect walk to the beach… because it’s literally on the beach lol…

What a dynamite place to stay at the Central Coast! Avila Lighthouse Suites has it all…big rooms, beautiful view, friendly and caring staff, delicious breakfast. What more could you ask for?Rooms: Spacious and clean. Furniture could be updated but who cares? We’re at the beach!Nearby activities: Activities on the premises are so fun for kids and adults!Safety: I feel totally safe. A small place where I feel the locals look after everyone!Walkability: A good trail to walk on or bike on!Food & drinks: Complimentary breakfast is restaurant quality! The Avila Lighthouse is where you need to book a room when visiting the Central California Coast. We’re return guests because of the well maintained buildings, grounds and pool. Splendid rooms, ocean views, covered secure parking and it’s literally a few yards to the Pacific Ocean. Very good hot breakfast served continental style. We would not consider staying elsewhere when we’re visiting the beautiful Central California Coast. Great place... - Friendly people and guests alike. Really clean and the place felt like home right when we arrived. Walked to the Chowder House and relaxed then we strolled along the sand on our way back to our room. Super nice pool too. Great conversation while soaking and swimming with the other guests. We made breakfast arrangements to meet in the morning for the free breakfast. 5 starts all the way... See you next time!

Absolutely amazing hotel!! We loved our stay. Walking down to the beach daily steps from the property was great. Falling asleep to the sounds of the waves and waking up to sunrise over the ocean was an amazing experience. Breakfast was great and the staff serving it were so kind. A really awesome place to stay in Avila Beach. The staff was very friendly, the room we had, 220, was perfect. It had a great view, very roomy and very comfortable beds. The front room has a great sofa and television. The bathroom was very roomy too. Parking was under the main building and was plentiful. We didn't know there was a breakfast included. It included all the breakfast treats you'd expect. The pool and hot tub were great. There are some fun games scattered around the property. Within walking distance of plenty of food and shopping options. The beach couldn't be any closer.
