I’ve never experienced a hotel which honestly caters to their guests. Besides a great and knowledgeable staff, ample time to prepare a morning breakfast, afternoon munchies, late afternoon local wine and cheese selections, guests don’t need to leave their modest historical Mexican themed rooms. Everything is on site for fun!!!Although we did trek a couple blocks to the beach for some sand in our toes.I’ve stayed at several hotels around the world and I’m so glad my husband chose la Fonda!! My husband is like a,”hotel hound”. Can always sniff out the best ones, and yours is absolutely on the top of my list. Prepare for my huge family to visit!!!!

The hotel is a boutique style with Saltillo tile throughout and a very warm feel. Its cozy! They provide many little complimentary extras including snack basket with all kinds of goodies and in the lobby area they have breakfast and happy hour with beer and wine all included. Class act for sure! There is not a bad location in Avila as your walking to the ocean within a 3 minutes from most places, the way this hotel sits the view is of street or parking but also very convenient. The jacuzzi and double headed shower at first seemed odd but WOW was it awesome and we could not have been more relaxed throughout the stay. We will be back to this hotel because of the warmth of the place and kindness of the offerings- well done Avila La Fonda.

Absolutely loved our stay at this hotel. The staff was friendly. The extra little welcoming amenities and lobby gatherings throughout the day was a special touch. The decor all around the hotel is beautiful and it was a very relaxing place to stay. The two person jacuzzi tub was nice as well as the in room fireplace and personal balcony. I love that it’s within walking distance to the beach and shops just a block or two away. Definitely will be returning again.Rooms: Ours had a private balcony. A fireplace facing the bed. It had a full size refrigerator, stove ,microwave, sink and dishwasher in our suite. There was an island in the middle to sit and eat at. Nice for staying multiple nights.Walkability: Just a block or two away from shops, restaurants, and the beach.

I can only say that I am counting the days until I can return with my fiance to celebrate Valentine's Day! Everything was perfect! I do a fair amount of traveling every year. So with all the locations I visit annually across the country. This is without question my favorite!!! The entire staff is extremely professional! Yet they are by no means stuffy or too formal. On the contrary. Everybody is personable, pleasant, knowledgeable, professional and thoughtful. I feel as though I am surrounded by family members when I stay here. The rooms are fantastic! The food is scrumptious with sizable portions. The location could not be any better. When considering all that I've already mentioned. Then you take into consideration the fantastic decor, the way that the lighting brings additional depth, subtle transformation and dimension into the composition of the atmosphere. You begin to acquaint yourself with and appreciate the transformative, relaxing and overall pleasant personality of this hotel into the mix. In my Opinion Avila La Fonda Hotel is the Jewel of the Central Coast. I highly recommend making a reservation here and giving them a go for yourself. You certainly can't go wrong. I'm sure it will be a very positive experience and most likely will be the start of a long and super relationship....I am giving Avila La Fonda Hotel my best rating of 5 thumbs up out of five!!!!👍👍👍👍👍Best Wishes~

We had a staycation over the holidays & enjoyed the service here. Our room had a big jacuzzi tub, fireplace & full kitchen. Welcome basket, free continental breakfast, noon chips & salsa bar & 8 pm Linn’s pie & ice cream were an added treat. Walking distance from all the charms of Avila town. We loved our morning walks on the beach. Dog friendly too!

We spent our 35th anniversary here. We love the hotel and the location near the beach. The staff is very friendlyAnd even left a Happy Anniversary card in our room. We especially enjoyed the treat basket in our room, the snack time in the lobby, and even a parting gift at check out! We will definitely be back!

I’ve traveled all over the world, and this is still my favorite hotel. We spent two glorious nights there this past week for my birthday, and it couldn’t have been more delightful. The staff, especially Emily and Leticia, could not have been more gracious and generous. The delicious noon chips and salsa bar with beers and soda, evening hors d’oeuvres and flowing wine, and the later homemade pies were such a treat. The hot tub with the mirrored wall in the room, huge comfortable bed, and terrace with a view added so much. And then a surprise departing gift! Of course, the location made beach walks at sunset a definite!

We received a gift certificate 3 years ago from our family for our anniversary but due to COVID and a family death we were just now able to redeem, and the management graciously allowed the time lapse!It was everything we could want, gracious staff, quaint decorated rooms with full kitchens, basket of goodies and champagne in our room upon arrival, pastries and coffee in the morning-appetizers mid day and happy hour with great music!La Fonda is definitely a hidden treasure we will share with all!Hope to see you all real soon!!!Walkability: It was an easy two block walk to the boardwalk -enough away that the noise was not an issue!

There is a reason the Avila La Fonda Hotel has a 4.8 rating on Google. The staff was fantastic, the accommodations excellent and the hotel has those little extras like complimentary snacks in the room, happy hour and later in the evening dessert(they had 3 different homemade pies as well as ice cream with coffee/tea).Outstanding all the way around.

My husband and I went for our anniversary. I had always wanted to stay there and usually end up in Pismo. SO glad we decided on La Fonda. It truly is worth every penny. They treat you so special. With great little perks like wine and cheese hour, and pie for dessert from Lynn's. The receptionist was very sweet and welcoming. It is walking distance to shops, restaurants and bars. Not to mention the beach. We will definitely stay there again.

My hubby & I absolutely love this place. We go here at least twice a year for my husbands bday and our anniversary. We love that we can bring our dog with us and makes our visit even more enjoyable. This is an absolute 5 star hotel, with several caveats. It is very well priced considering the location, amenities and quality of the rooms. Four times a day there are food and drinks that are actually pretty decent and presented in a way that creates opportunities to meet other guests or just sit in very comfortable common areas. The rooms are great and have features like (depending on which room you book you may get all of these) full kitchens, fireplaces, jacuzzi tubs, balconies and one with a huge patio with BBQs and an outdoor fireplace. However, that room with the outdoor patio has a view of a vacant, dirt lot. That room also has a VERY loud refrigerator. We had problems with our key cards not working for our door. Unrelated to that, the electronic lock connected to the key card reader did not always work. Our room was near the laundryroom which added to the noise pollution and we also had the nice view of a dozen or so bathroom carpets air drying at any given time. I'm giving some negatives here but these are all easily corrected and overall we loved La Fonda and will return. This is our favorite hotel in Avila.

Such a wonderful caring boutique hotel. Service and space is excellent. More food shared morning, noon, and night. And the raspberry ruabarb pie was amazing. Sleeping was great. Jacuzzi tub was so nice. Little balconies with every room. Jamie and Emily were impeccable hostesses. The rooms are exceptionally clean and beautiful but the only downfall is the lack of central AC. There is a portable AC in the room but it does not cool very quickly. The fun part was Lins Pies and ice cream, homemade cookies and chocolate croissants each night and a basket full of goodies upon arrival... They also have a wine hour each evening.. Very warm and cozy and a very hospitable, welcoming place to call your home away from home.Nearby activities: And you're just steps away from the quaint little downtown area...Walkability: Wonderful location. Just steps from the beach...

Well it took a long time for me to get there but I'm glad I finally made it. The hotel was absolutely charming, the amenities made my stay so comfortable and the service was excellent. The staff was helpful and kind. My sister and I dubbed it the "Smell Good" hotel. Every room and corridor smelled just great.....Loved the offered coffee in the am - wine at dusk- pie and coffee at night.

Avila La Fonda is a true gem on the West Coast. From the moment we arrived to the moment we reluctantly checked out, we were enveloped in a haven of comfort and warm hospitality.The accommodations at Avila La Fonda were fabulous. Our suite was beautifully decorated and the complimentary wine and delicious homemade pie created an inviting and cozy atmosphere that made it difficult to leave.I wholeheartedly recommend this lovely hotel to anyone seeking a memorable and rejuvenating getaway. We only planned for one overnight stay in our 3 week road trip but in hindsight we'd plan to stay longer next time!

The effort they put forth in trying to make a romantic and enjoyable stay is evident. There are many small, but appreciated. touches (ie. champagne in the mini fridge, croissants every morning, wine and charcuteire in the evening). My wife enjoyed the over-sized jacuzzi tub in the room. The location is walkable to everything at Avila Beach. We experienced excessive noise in our room (#108) due to its location near the hospitality deck. Also, two of the staff members could work on their customer service people skills. That being said, most of the staff was welcoming and friendly.Nearby activities: Try the Bob Jones Trail. It is very nearby and makes a nice bike ride in a beautiful location.

Great hotel, very friendly, quiet, fun. We travel with two small dogs and this hotel was very convenient, we could walk to a beautiful hiking trail, restaurants, snacks, patio wine tasting and the beach (dog friendly before 10 am and after 5pm). A short drive to Olde Port beach, off leash allowed, easy access via ramp or stairs. Convenient parking under hotel with elevator.

One block off the beach this romantic get-a-way is a great couples experience. Amenities galor, from the morning croissants/ coffee/ OJ, lunch time nachos and beer, late afternoon wine and charcuterie, evening pie and ice cream, generous complimentary welcome snack basket, in-room keurig choices, real dishes/ coffee cups, spa tub, fireplace, balcony, pantry with toiletries/ etc., and complimentary beach gear. The architecture and artwork is fantastic. Staff is friendly, attentive and helpful. They make you feel at home.

This is my second time staying at La Fonda and it never disappoints. The rooms are spacious with multiple amenities to your liking. Service and staff were excellent across the board Luis helped us checking in and out, made the process simple easy and explained everything thorough. Absolutely loved everything about our getaway to ALFH before the holiday craziness!Staff were so helpful and kind. Jamie, Dylan and Michael were all great!Amenities are so covered that you don't have to leave if you don't want to! From the delicious croissants and coffee in the morning, to the nacho bar and beer and REAL MEXICAN COKE IN THE BOTTLE at noon, the full hors d'oeuvre spread with wine at 5 and finally pie and ice cream at 8! Cookies were always in sight too ;) as well as water and tea.Rooms are so well decorated and charming! We'd like to shout out the super soft bedding - it was so cozy on a really cold night!Ambiance was great! This place is already gorgeous, but it was even more spectacular as it was beautifully decorated for the holidays.Perfect location to shops and dining and the beach! You don't need your car for anything! Lovely quiet sleepy town (at least it was the week before Christmas) to relax.We were so excited to return, that we purchased the holiday special rate for gift card purchases.See you in 2023!
