I've been going here for about 30 years. I love it so much that I convinced my husband to get married here. We try to come up here at least once a year even during the cold rainy season. It never disappoints! Or go to places are Hula Hut, Custom House, and San Luis Bay inn.

Its the local experience here. Way chiller than Pismo, smaller but still diverse board walk with food, drinks and an AMAZING clean beach. I think they allow dogs after 5pm even though there's a dog beach right up the road. My cat loved it lol

Serene and clean, the beach is full of wave tumbled rocks, driftwood, the ocean horizon offers ships of all types, sea birds cruise in after day at sea.

This beach is stunning! The town is great and offers ample free street parking or there are public parking places which charge a nominal fee. It's a small, quiet place and so idyllic! The beach itself is gorgeous and plenty of space to walk, collect shells, read, surf, swim or play. On one side of the pier, there are swingsets and playground equipment. The pier is closed due to needing renovation. I've been to plenty of beaches but Avila Beach stole my heart with it's quaint, quiet charm and beautiful scenery. I hope to come back!

Beach location was awesome. It must be nice in the weekday . The time we went was at its peak Saturday and due to the Opening of Ca. Enjoyed while we were there. Of course the water was cold, but being out was enjoyable. We had our little dog so I let the family go out to the beach while I watched from above. Had to wait an hour. 10am-5pm no dogs. Relaxed and watched the waves. As always, post whatever your adventure takes U.

Today the weather was great, bit windy but no complaints. A kite was flying (see video), a few were venturing into the 🌊 waves (see video), many were on the beach 🏖 and shoreline shopping and dining. Pier was partially closed for repairs. Parking was sparse as usual.

Always have an extremely nice time coming to Avila Beach! It’s not perfect sand, but not the worst either. Didn’t go in the water, as it would be too cold for me this time of year. Sat on the beach with a hoodie eating snacks.There’s quite a few shops and restaurants nearby, plenty of bathrooms. Everyone seemed respectful of each other’s space. There is also grills that many people were using, which is nice.

Went for a day trip with bae and my family to Avila Beach! We got there about 10:30 am / 11 am and it was pretty full already; however, we found a lovely spot! The water was nice and cold and salty. Over all very nice vibe! There are no dogs allowed in the 🏖 beach during certain hours; however, as we were driving towards the pier, we seen another section of the beach that had tons of dogs! So that specific part might be appropriate 😀. Highly recommend this beach! Many places to eat and shop at on the board walk!

Amazing beach. I'm usually not a beach person because I get uncomfortable/ cold from the sand and the wind, but I found the beach pleasantly warm despite the breeze.Perfect place to learn how to surf with small waves and a gently sloping, sandy beach.

It was my first time here and it was the perfect weather for a beach day! It was a clean beach without the crazy crowds. My babies absolutely loved getting in the water and playing in the sand. Even got to see some whales! Locals were friendly as well when I needed some help. Showers available in the bathroom area to rinse off. Lots of little shops around, but we didn't get the chance to visit. Beautiful scenery, lots of fun! Definitely coming back!

Nice, family friendly beach!! The waves are not huge, perfect for my toddler or young boogie boarders to play and be safe! The facilities were also clean which was greatly appreciated!!

This is a calm and Long Beach. It's clearly a favorite of dog lovers. If you have a dog, this is the beach to come to. If you don't like dogs, do not come here.

I love everything about Avila. The beach and city are very clean. Always sunny sky's. Perfect for family trips. There's restaurants and some shops. Great for a day out on the beach.

Very clean, pretty cold(you can rent wetsuits under the pier 12pm-6pm cash only), cool places to explore. Great beach all around! Lots of little shops to visit with a healthy variety of trinkets and souvenirs to buy paired with lots of little food shops and sweets. Lifeguard stations and police are prevalent, pretty safe. Big waves!**The picture attached is a small little cove that's part of the beach far left past a small cliff face, fun to explore and climb the rocks.

This is the last beach you see on highway 101 north in SLO county. Nice sunsets. Great beach for family getogethers. Spend a lot of time here growing up and came back to get some drone footage. Could not have picked a better day. Nobody here. Felt like I had the beach to myself.

Beautiful, quaint, dog friendly after 5. We heard this spot was less touristy than Pismo so headed here after the sun set. Lots of restaurants to choose from as well. Def recommend a visit
