Way less crowded, shorter lines than up the street! Recommend this golf cart rental on the island. We got the 3rd hour free. It’s close to the ferry ⛴️ so we were able to drop off our luggage at our airbnb, take a trip to the grocery store and drop off our groceries and heavy cases of water bottles (and beer 🍻). Very convenient. We then took the sightseeing loop through the city, into the heights for amazing views. There’s a pet cemetery on the way which was an interesting spot that we had never noticed on previous visits. We toured the entire city, all the points of interest and the adorable neighborhoods. We even stopped for a snack. It was beautiful and relaxing. Definitely opt for a golf cart rental if you’re new to the island…even if you aren’t! Fun stuff for the whole family.

Friendly and efficient service. $120 for an hour including $60 deposit. If you take longer than an hour then they take your deposit on a pro rata basis. 30 mins over the hour = $30. Cash only. We did it in an hour with a couple of stops for pictures on the way. Not really pushing for time but you do need to keep an eye on it if you want your deposit back! We were a couple of mins over but got our full $60 deposit back. Views are very spectacular around the island and was a really fun experience. Would recommend. It’s basically the first golf buggy rental place you come across as you walk from the Catalina flyer into Avalon.

We rented a golf cart after standing in line for about 40min waiting. They were sold out from the morning but they started slowly returning and we got one. We drove around the island by the map that was handed to us. It was pretty to see it from all views. It took about an hour and we paid $60

Great experience renting a golf cart with a few friends for a couple hours from Island Rentals. Fun way to see Avalon and there were some fantastic views along the way. Super friendly and helpful staff and their pricing model is simple and flexible. Highly recommend!

We had an amazing experience here. They provided a map of the island and recommendations for places to stop along the way. It was super easy to rent a golf cart and there was no hassle. It is cash only but I was able to run to the ATM while my wife filled out the paperwork. The route takes you up into the cliffs where you can get some incredible shots of the harbor. Buy two hours get the third free, but we were able to do the complete loop in an hour (even with a couple selfie stops). I would recommend going as soon as they open. There was only one person in front of us. The other golf cart place had long lines. Definitely recommend this place!

This was an excellent trip to Catalina Island! Get yourself a ferry ride with the Catalina Express and come here to rent a golf cart for a few hours to explore the island. I am so surprised many others don't do or know about Catalina Island - highly recommend to anyone who visits the Los Angeles area.

The lady we dealt with was very rude and blunt. I would not rent from them again I would rather walk. The gentleman that was helping another family at the time was very nice and I wish we would have dealt with him instead of the Witch we dealt with.

line was shorter than the other rental place, but there seemed to be less carts. on busy days, this was definitely the better choice for renting a golf cart. staff were really nice, and the trip around the island was great. we visited the botanical gardens and wrigley memorial, highly recommend spending some time there. views were amazing from the top!! max 2 hours for rental, so make sure to plan your time out!

An absolute must if you visit Catalina, it’s golf cart island after all! People here were BEYOND kind and friendly and i would honestly recommend it over the other rentals for how friendly the people are! 😎

These people are the nicest and the way they do business is great. The owner is honest and fair. Bring cash! They only take cash, rate is $60 per hour. If you want to keep your golf cart a little longer, give them a call. You’re charged for the amount of time you have the cart, if it’s 1 hour and 36 minutes, it’s $96. The carts are in great working condition and perfect for tooling around Catalina. Try to get off the ferry quickly and bring cash (I know I already wrote this but I never have cash). There is an ATM close by but who wants to mess with that? Leave a comment if you went here and what your experience was.

We rented a golf cart for 1 hr. It’s $60 and also a $60 refundable deposit. Cash only. We were able to drive the scenic route but there is no additional time to really stop & get out. It does take the full hour. Everyone was very helpful.

Went to Catalina Island a couple weeks ago and rented a golf cart to see more of the island. It was our first time and we wanted to explore. It was a $50 cash deposit and $50 an hour for the cart rental. The gal at the booth gave us a map with a suggested route to follow. The best sight for me was down Pebbly beach road. It had an gorgeous coastal view. We even got to see a deer. Took a few pictures. I would recommend the rent of a golf cart to explore island.

We rented a golf cart and had a great time driving the scenic route around Avalon. The people here are very friendly and helpful. The carts are available on a first come first served basis. Don't lollygag, by 10:30, the carts were gone. They have a great deal that if you rent for 2 hours, the third hour is free. This is for morning rentals only. We took our time going around and used the full three hours. I looked at the prices at another rental place a block down from here, and their sign said 2 hours max! I would recommend this place to rent a golf cart from.

Very easy to rent and they offer a military discount. We arrived a little after opening and they had many carts available, but by our return time (~11 am) the lot was empty so you’ll want to make sure to get there early enough to not have to wait. They also have a route they recommended and gave a map for that was very nice to follow to get some good views in.

We got to the island via cruise ship at 8 am, they don't open until 9 am. IT IS CASH ONLY. We stood in line for an hour and when the employee arrived at 8:45, seeing the LONG line, was in no rush. He took his time to unlock the carts, then open up all the windows. Then walk around getting his stuff together - in no quick manner. He took the first customer at 9 on the dot. He knows that he is going to make his money being he is the first building that you see that rents carts. So, there is a very sarcastic, non-caring attitude. (Do with that what you must.)Good thing, it's first come first serve. But there are limited carts and only seat 4 people max. It's $60 cash for 1hr, plus $60 deposit (or you can use it for a 2nd hr). They run a special if you pay for 2hrs, you get the 3rd free, which is what we did.*You can do the whole island in an hour, but won't be able to stop and see stuff and take pictures on the hills.**If you have a group of more than 4, there is a place a couple stores down (that we found out about after the ride) that does rentals with a 6 car cart and they are open before 9am. They also accept cards.***There is an ATM nearby on the island if you need to use it to get cash. Not sure of the fees.

Really appreciated this place. The only other golf cart place the people were rude!! Alex is a Doll!! Customer service was amazing 10 out of 10!! *Tip bring at least $120 in cash they only take cash. For a 4 seater $60 one hour $60 deposit. And they understand if your a couple min late. Annnnnddd they will pro-rate your refund if you are take your golf cart out and about longer like 30 dollars for 30 min. Choose them evvvvvverrry time.

Mix feelings. Not problem solver: We make a reservation for 2h but were late because we came to the island sailing. They couldn’t cancel the reservation for us and we had to call from the store their central offices explaining the reservation to cancel the reservation and do a new one for only 50mins...Nevertheless renting the golf car only for one hour we could visit quickly the island whitout any stop because we could do it.I don’t recommend you so to rent the golf car for the last slot available during covid19 (3pm-5pm) if you come sailing because if you come late they will have no solution...

It’s a bit expensive but you can get the loop tour done in under an hour.It’s the quickest way to see the island and offers beautiful mountain top views.The process is simple and relatively fast.Expect lines if you’re coming from a cruise, must be 25-years or older, and have your drivers license and insurance.

Best day ever ! Everyone at Island Rentals was exceptionally pleasant. We came to Catalina on a cruise ship. When we got on the island, we decided quickly that the best way to enjoy the island was by golf cart. The views were amazing from the suggested paths on the map provided. We highly recommend Island Rentals for the golf cart tour time of your life !!!

Stood in line for an hour while it rained waiting for them to open. They never opened. Despite it saying they were open online. No posted hours anywhere.Waste of time and utter inconvenience.Would not recommend.Do not waste your time.They hate tourists.Will ruin your trip.

Staff are awesome! Get there early, line is always long. $55/hr is worth the views you will see. This is the only transportation in the island. We rented 2 hrs for $110 but 3rd hour is free, so it was the best drive around the island. Will do it again nect visit.#catalinaisland #golfcartrental #islandrentals # avalon

These guys run a good operation. We did not have reservations but we had a reasonable wait time. Spent the day in Avalon as part of our cruise itinerary. The price was fair and renting this golf cart was a fun way to explore the island. My cart was fairly slow to get moving - like step on the gas and it would get moving 2-5 seconds later, but it wasn’t a big deal. My boys and I were mostly amused by its lack of “get up and go”. I wonder if it was just mine, or is they’re all like this. I am pretty sure it operated on gasoline, and I was surprised it was not an all electric fleet, perhaps someday….

customer service okay, the lady at the front desk recorded me and my friends without our permission after a local complained to the police due to us purchasing alcohol while on our carta crew member pulled us over near the end of our advising advising we had to return the go-cart back which we were totally okay with but don't record myself and friends on without OUR permission

I would not recommend.The Owner ignored and walked away from me after I confronted him about almost running me over with a golfcart. To my surprise, I walked up to the front desk to report him for almost running me over on the street, and ended up finding out that he is the owner of the company, instead of an employee.He told me that I do not know how to look and that If I can't see then "you are likely to get ran over plenty of times." Who says that to people? I let him know that the pedestrians have the right away ALWAYS. He came flying down the street like he was missing a new episode of The Price is Right.He's a white male, mid 40s, definitely not easy on the eyes, about 6'1 or 6'2. Brown eyes. Brunette hair.My vacation was almost ruined, but I am so glad that it was redeemed by meeting other great people whom live on the island; they are the ones that made me feel better.The owner needs serious help. Take the money you make from golf carts and go see a therapist or a psychiatrist for them deep rooted issues you have. I can only imagine how he talks to his employees. I'm sure his parents are rolling in their Graves disappointed at how their son turned out to be.

The front people were so inviting and sweet! Prices were great and DO THIS. HAVE TO RENT THE GOLF CART. Odds are you’re on vacation. It’s a beautiful ride. Really is breathtaking. I would 100% do it again, and take the long way next time. We didn’t have enough time but it was awesome.

Great experience with the staff and the cart. You leave a $120 cash deposit for a 2 hour rental. We returned after 85 minutes and the manager came out with $35 to exchange for the keys. I just really appreciated the integrity of the management here, a top quality experience from beginning to end. And yes, we had fun in the golf cart as well!

I had the best experience here. I was on a cruise in Nov 2020 and got off the ship not sure what I was going to do. After walking around town, I went to a different golf cart place, and the line was soooo long, I left. I stopped here and spoke to the gentleman and asked for advice on what to see outside of the normal. He gave me some tips on where to go. The rental was so easy....I drove around the island. Had a couple of small hiccups with the cart not moving when I was on a slight incline at a stop light. It took a moment. But overall had a great time and the staff was excellent.

I am appalled at the outrageous service I received at Island Rentals, Inc. An employee - who identified himself as a native of the island, darker-skinned but not black, with a long beard - demonstrated an unacceptable level of rudeness. The nerve he had to demand that I remove my mask before he’d offer any help with my order was not only shocking, but a blatant disregard for public health measures. While other employees tried to compensate for his disgraceful conduct, his offensive behavior loomed over everything. His utter lack of professionalism is a slap in the face to customers who expect basic respect and care for their health. Frankly, Island Rentals, Inc., you should be ashamed of such an employee. It was an utterly abysmal experience. Avoid this place if you value your dignity and well-being.
