Pleasantly surprised by this nice store. Excellent produce great deals and I actually found my favorite enchilada sauce there too. Easy parking friendly and fast check out clean store definitely will be coming back. A lot of my most favorite stuff to choose from. I like this place!

When it's hard to leave a regular grocery store for 3 bags of groceries under $200, smart and final is king in Auburn.This cart was $620.

I was at the Auburn store and having issues with the app. and had an item I wanted to purchase that required clipping a coupon on the app.. The store was really busy, but the checkers are fast and efficient and whittled the lines down really fast. Once the lines diminished, manager Curtis Atwood helped me resolve my issue with the app. Thank you Curtis

I have always shopped at Smart & final since I can remember but I'm letting you know that these five-star rating I give you will become a one if you sell Tyson food products I will not shop there anymore and I shop there weekly and spend approximately $350 a week I will go elsewhere if they keep selling Tyson food products !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I actually really like this store. It's always clean and being stocked. But there's some things I don't like here. One thing is, if they're out of stock on something they will put anything in it's place on the shelf. I've been screwed a few times because if that. The 2nd thing is bagging. If you bring your own bags, they just throw them down and make you bag your self even if I hold the bag open. . If you use their bags they sometimes bag but it's 50/50 but I've had the cashier tell me to start bagging and I saw Nope not unless they're free. No other store does this.

Overall, it's a good store. I don't like that the checkers don't assist with loading the kart unless I purchase bags. Some are better than others.

How lucky Auburnites are due to Smart & Final coming to town! What a much-needed addition for grocery options, quality, generally sane pricing, and excellent employees! And...Ten items or less? No! Smart & Final is grammatically correct, hooray :D

My dad loves to shop at Grocery Outlet. I talked him into checking out S&F today, it’s much closer for us. After perusing the store he said “the prices are outrageous here.” When we checked out there was 1 checker. She was busy looking at pics on a co-workers phone who was coming through her line. So much that the store Mgr told her she didn’t call for back-up checkers in time. He offered to take us but we already had unloaded all of our groceries on the belt. So we stuck it out. We were in line for 20+ minutes as the clerk needed a plu for a produce item, talked etc.My dad said to me as we walked to the car “we are never coming back here.” Then we went to Grocery Outlet, where the prices & customer service, we’re better. I do think S&F has a good manager though. Just seems to be a chain wide philosophy to make people wait in huge lines.

1st off: The staff are friendly & efficient; they know how to do their jobs & do them well. Wish there were a few more of them; I rarely see any in the aisles--maybe 1 in produce, or 1 stocking the refrigerated cases.They carry a broad inventory, from industrial size storage containers & seasonal things like patio furniture to organic produce, and candy bars by the registers; but only a few brands within each category. Like cookies: there were 8 types of Oreos tm, 4 types of Keebler and 3 types of Mothers, but zero oatmeal or shortbread or sugar cookies. By the registers there was a small stack of the store bakery's sugar cookies (the soft cakey kind with pink frosting). Another example, only 2 brands of peanut butter, including the store brand.The store brand is First Street & quality is hit&miss. Staples like dairy, baking products, produce -- both refrigerated prepackaged & frozen -- are all good in my experience; I'd also recommend the snacks that are minimally processed foods [nuts & dried fruit, for example]. But the manufactured products can be bland or just not right: Pasta cooks up gummy, meat shrinks like crazy & sausage is bland, potato chips are bland, very small & very thin. Ice cream is fluffy [yes, fluffy. It's obviously full of air & thickeners] & again, little flavor. The pasta sauces & salsas are ok, but nothing to write home about.There's a bulk bin section, which is mostly candy; some not-candied nuts, & grains. Haven't used it much, but when I have, it was fresh & reasonably priced. I was surprised because I've literally NEVER seen anyone even looking at, much less shopping from the bulk bins. "Live & learn."Their specials can be spectacular, especially the occasional "manager's special".

This place has like 3/4 of the selection of other nearby grocery stores and like 1.5x higher prices. Also, a ton of their products were missing price tags when I went.

First time in the store. After going to Bel Air with no help. Smart and Final produce was half the price and they actually had the items that Bel Air did not. Also their staff actually took the time to help me locate the items.

I loved Smart and Final while living several places in California, so I'm familiar with their products, quality, and service. My low rating here is based on the checkout service because the clerk was rude, snappy, impatient and insensitive when my card didn't work. I eventually got my card to work, but the rude treatment of service still lingers on in which I've started shopping elsewhere.

I came into Smart&Final on Sunday December 19th to shop. I saw that they had Activia Yogurt 24 cups on sale for 8.99 regular 9.99. Asked if they had any in the back gentleman checked for me and they were out. Today 12/21/21 I came back and asked again and a young man checked for me. Was out again I understand it may not be a quick seller. Asked him if I could get a rain check. He said sure I thanked him and went up to pay for my items. I asked for a rain check and was told if it wasn’t on the sale paper they couldn’t give me a rain check. I said so tomorrow u put the price back up to 9.99 and that’s what I have to pay. The lady just shrugged her shoulders. She was not the cashier. WHAT HAPPENED TO CUSTOMER SERVICE

Found everything I went in for. Line moved fast. The emplyees were very pleasant- a big relief from Home Depot where the cashiers were screaming at customers as they were checking out. Thankyou to the hardworking people at SMART & FINAL who still manage to be polite to your customers!

very bad customer service. I had forgotten my wallet. The cashier said she would hold my groceries until I got back. I lived 7 mi away. When I returned, the groceries were restocked. I wasted my time and gas money. Gas is so expensive these days. I didn't even get an apology. I walked out. Do not buy groceries at this place.

I enjoy shopping here, but shoppers beware. I wanted to bring to management's attention a situation that was very alarming. I hope management views this as helpful and will take all precautions so that this doesn't happen again and will share with this story so that all franchises are aware. There was a package of corn tortillas and there was a huge bites out of the plastic wrap they were in. It was very obvious mice or rats. Every package should be inspected before placed on the shelves. Please make sure your training includes these types of situation's, investigate where that lot was brought from, inform the producer or create a stocking process that includes this situation. This should never, never happen.

Relatively harmless this go around, got my registration stickers in 20 mins. But paid my registration 2 weeks ago, was suspended for lack of insurance, so I had to go home pay the $15 suspension fee on DMV.org. should have just been able to pay there and get my sticker that day, the stupidity is strong with them.

Smart & FinalAlburn Store, Saturday, 1:30 PMStopped by to pick up a couple of items only to find I was the 28th person in line. The line went all the way down the isle to the back of the store and then some. Only two checkers working. Several customers left their items in the baskets and walked out. It is obvious Management does not value the customer and only is concerned with how good they look to Corporate. When mentioning my concerns to the staff and pointing out there were refrigerated items abandoned in baskets on the floor, and I mentioned how many customers were complaining. It didn't seem to matter to the staff. All of this is a direct reflection on Management or the lack thereof. I for one will not be back.

This is the best store! With the best prices in bulk too! Got foster farms chicken for $.79 per pound!. Always looking for those good prices since I make my dogs meals. They have the best produce Dept!

I dont know why I haven't been shopping here longer! I am due to have a baby in 4 weeks, and was doing shopping to make a ton of freezer meals so I dont gave to do much cooking coming up. I stopped in here and got almost everything I needed (which was A LOT), and spent only about half what I normally spend on my regular bug shopping trips. And everything was of good quality. I also got quite a few organic products! I'll definitely be shopping here more often from now on!

Great place to buy groceries in bulk! Mainly designed for small business but open to anyone. Great fruit and vegetables section. Bulk food section. Good selection of paper and takeout containers! Good prices on most items. Lots of items in LARGE size containers!

This is our family's primary grocery store. Prices are good, especially on meat and other staple items. They have bulk food items like dried fruits, nuts and grains. The produce is a little hit or miss, but usually sufficient. Another plus is their premade bulk items like chopped coleslaw or salad, large buckets of dressing, potato salad, etc. Similar to Costco in also having a lot of supplies you can use for big parties, catering, or restaurants (disposable baking dishes, paper plates and cups, utensils, etc).

A good selection of food here and available in bulk at great prices. Unfortunately today we had the bad experience of dealing with a particularly rude and obnoxious clerk at the register. The clerk felt it was necessary to make sarcastic comments to other customers about my wife and I, whilst we were at the register. Won't be returning.

My Husband and I were just at Smart & Final; we couldn't help taking about how impressed we are with the service we received, on such a busy day! And they had plenty of turkeys at a great price. They had tons of fresh produce, too.
