Best place to stop and get something yummy. I got a nut burger with alfalfa sprouts. Excellent job on the burger. If you are hungry this is the best place to stop and get a healthy meal. Don't waste your time or money getting fast food that is poisonous. This is the best place to spend your money. Also they have cold pack honey which you can't find too many places. Which is the best honey to buy. Thank you šŸŗšŸ‡

BriarPatch began as a natural food buyers Club in 1976. They are now in their 47th year of operation. They give back hundreds of thousands of dollars to local nonprofits. Not only do they specialize in healthy, Earth friendly foods, they also support their local community. BriarPatch offers a great variety of fresh, ready to eat meals, drinks and baked goods. They sell organic vegetables, grains and beans. The cheeses and meats have no artificial flavors, colors or preservatives, no antibiotics, no nitrates or hormones. They provide affordable natural, organic and conventional products. This is a great lunch or non-alcohol date spot. Get a smoothie, hot drink or yummy salad or sandwich. Then mosey outside to their back patio. It's private and has a relaxing vibe. If the date is going well, you can always window shop and get to know each other better. IG: SACRAMENTOHONEY

Diego, who I believe is one of the supervisors at the Auburn location, was such a joy to interact with. I observed his efforts and hard work. He goes out of his way to make the experience a pleasant and exciting one. I believe he is deserving of a raise without a doubt. If his superiors read this review, I pray that they can give him some positive and encouraging recognition. Thank you Diego for the awesome experience. I wish there were more people like you in the world! Sincerely, CS

I love the produce, it's really top notch all organic. The hot food and salad bar is a weekly favorite of mine. I love that you carry West Sacramento Gluten Free Sourdough. It's the best GF bread I've found. I buy two loaves a week. The staff is always super friendly and helpful. My only critcisim is that everything is pricey but I understand that it's high quality and organic. Also, better labeling (it's improving, thank you!) and training for staff as to what contains wheat and what doesn't would be helpful.

Low score because of the ridiculous deli policy. I went there to order a sandwich. No one else there besides me and the deli worker. I ordered a sandwich from her. All good, right?! Wrong! You can't order from a human. I would've had to find it in the computer, order it there and let the machine tell the worker to make the sandwich. Great idea management! Let's isolate people further and do away with all this human interaction nonsense. Well done.I left, never to return.

The store smells like some weird chemical when you walk in and I have noticed some of their produce has that smell and tastes weird, one had a bitter taste that I couldn’t wash off. Mostly the apple and the pears I tried. Maybe it’s some weird wax they put on their produce. All their apples I’ve tried have been mealy and taste old. Otherwise the store seems fine.

I’m beyond disappointed in the outcome of this store. It was a store that was supposed to be built on COMMUNITY, yet as employees who are apart of the community, our voices went unheard. What made the store was the employees. The employees were the ones there serving, assisting, and answering questions yet if we’d bring up a problem it was glazed over. Upper management gossips about you to your equals, but as long as you’re their friend the favoritism will save you and you will have a good work experience. Brian will also tell you to ā€œCalm downā€ when not even speaking to him and when overhearing the conversation of workplace abuse will say ā€œThat’s your jobā€ But quite frankly it’s nobody’s job to tolerate workplace abuse ESPECIALLY on a lousy hourly wage for the work that’s done.I give huge props to the deli workers who bust their butts yet get no recognition.I believe that Auburn Briarpatch would be a lot more successful if the Management actually pushed what this store was supposed to be built on. COMMUNITY. But I guess you only care so much when you make a salary….

The staff made me feel extremely unwelcome. I was followed around the store while trying to make my purchases with my son and then the cashier and bagger literally IGNORED ME when I greeted them. Stick to Trader Joe’s.

Fruits and veggies are next level. The price is not as shocking as you’d expect. Apples for example are the best here and only $1.99 a lbs.

This place just reaks of raw meat. You can smell the meat department as soon as you step inside. It’s almost as bad as those Asian or Mexican markets. The difference is that Asian or Mexican markets are much cheaper.

I am so glad this is not a Trader Joe's. Read the ingredients at Trader Joe's. They're horrible! For someone with food sensitivities this store has what I need, for the most part. We still need to check ingredients but I would say that 70% of the ingredients are safe products.I am surprised that their sausage contains highly processed canola, and their brand of baked goods is not organic and contains soy derived ingredients, like Thiamine Mononitrate. For that reason, I only gave it 4 stars.

Customer service via phone was so helpful! Thank you, to the gentleman who ran to the baked goods department and checked if there was flourless chocolate cake!

This place has an interesting assortment of food. Unfortunately, the PRICES ARE VERY HIGH. It's no wonder that Briar Patch had more employees than customers when my wife and I visited late on a weekday afternoon.

Just paid a visit to a highly anticipated new market that just opened here in Auburn, California, The BriarPatch Co-op. People around here had been excited for it to come, and many said they loved the one up in Grass Valley. Unfortunately, my wife and I were less than impressed, this is not a market we will be patronizing. I kind of expected a sort of Trader Joe's on steroids. But, what I found was a sort of trendy Bristol Farms like place that we found expensive and a bit pretentious. A lot of organic fruits and vegetables(7.99 for a tub of Spring Mix!), a big emphasis on packaged food to go. Meat counter with smaller cuts, of beef, pork, chicken, etc.. more suited to a single person or couple, not someone buying for a large family or gathering. We did buy several items as they had a few good opening day coupons. I guess they feel the area has some well heeled residents that are looking for a place like this to shop. My wife and I grew up in Southern California, in Orange County, so we had plenty of exposure to pretentious places. Just my observations.

Lots of hype and anticipation for Briarpatch to open, but what a disappointment. I thought the word "co-op" implied locally grown produce, high quality meats and groceries, all at reasonable prices. It's great that everything is organic, but everything is very expensive. One item we wanted was spring mix lettuce. $7.99 per pound or $7.99 for a 16oz pack. Smart and Final has the identical product from the same vendor for $4.49. Meal size salads $8.00 and up, Trader Joe's $4.00 or so.This is a high-end market whose clientele would more likely live in cities, not Auburn.

I won't be able to afford to shop here for anything . Well maybe the deli. Was in sticker shock on everything. I expected a farmers market type atmosphere for some reason but the produce section was so small and so expensive. Then saw Salmon at $40/pound? Almost coughed up a lung . Wonder what this store will be next year as this is a middle class town with Target and Smart and Final also, right there.

We frequent the BriarPatch in Grass Valley and are excited that there is somewhere to stop in Auburn now. We usually just pass righ over auburn when it comes to food but now we don’t have to! I have celiac disease and need gluten free everything. I’ve checked all around for g-free products and their prices and briarpatch is the most affordable. The store is spacious, clean and welcoming. The prices for the quality are very good and I can always find what I need.

We are familiar with the Briar Patch in Grass Valley which we love. The Auburn location has a long way to go, but we are hoping this will happen over the next year or two. We just had their chicken and rice soup -- the ingredients are top notch, but the broth was almost tasteless. The same for the Thai rice -- excellent nutty dark rice, but almost no flavor. The non-sourdough French baguettes are wonderful, and they have seeded watermelons šŸ‰: both worth going back for. The Auburn staff are also very helpful and friendly. The Grass Valley BP is a totally Fun Experience, with far more variety of foods (in all depts, and particulary wrt prepared foods) which are all in our experience....excellent.I hope the Owners bring up the Auburn location to be on par with GV.

The staff in the front are too inattentive and busy chatting to each other to acknowledge their customers. When I went to ask about something I was disregarded and told "I don't know"

The Deli food was so yummy. I got the Thai Peanut noodles with grilled shrimp - 10/10!!

Not overly crowded and Steve the cashier was very kind. The homeopathic area is very small so the GV location does trump the Auburn location. Seems as though the clientele is less snooty down in Auburn than GV. So that was a win.

It’s a great store. Employees seem like they were prejudice and when I ask for help they acted kind of squeamish, like they didn’t want to help me. too bad I’ll go back to Whole Foods

Happy The Patch is here: Love the tasty food including pasta/burrito and what a delish Hawaiian Smoothie. Enjoy The Vibe, talking with shoppers/staffers and noshing with friends. Thank you, BP, for my new hangout.

This place is ridiculously over priced for the same name brand junk you can get down the street. They pay their workers minimum wage and act like they're helping the world by ripping off gullible yuppies.

Full disclosure, I work at BriarPatch HQ and helped bring this new store to Auburn as a brand designer on the talented marketing team. I’m proud of our efforts and hope Auburn gets to know and love the Patch.

The cashier Lauren is rude. I've been shopping in briar patch many times in grass valley and auburn since the first day they opened. I'd rather go to trader Joe's and whole foods again.
