I stopped here in a rush after forgetting to stop at Templeton to get hay one afternoon, and now I won’t go anywhere else! Not only is Atascadero Hay and Feed the BEST priced, BUT it makes me so happy to see a local company have so many teenagers working so hard! Giving kids in our community a chance where other companies won’t even look at their applications before their 18. LET ME tell you, Jeremy, Kayden, and the young girl who works the register in the front are the nicest kids ever and so knowledgeable and friendly! 10/10 recommend this buissness for all it contributes to our community both people and livestock!

The chick looked like it was dying after one hour after purchase so I called the store and they said no refunds once a chick leaves the store. The chick was housed under a heat lamp with food and water in a quiet place within 20 minutes and all the other chicks are doing just fine. Six hours later and a dead chick is the result of Atascadero Hay and Feed selling a sick/dying chick to their customers.

I drove 2 hours away from home to get their chicks! The lady with the green shirt black hair that was calling out for the people on the list for chicks was amazing and very kind. She knew I was the person who drove 2 hours away her words were more than a customer to me. More of a friend. It was my first time coming here and definitely wont be my last. They had a lot to choose from and store was well organized and clean.Thank you again! Will see you soon ! Love this store ❤️

They have Bantam chickens, ducks and Turkey and some regular size chickens.We went for 2 and got 4 as my daughter says they are smaller so they only equal 2 regular chickens. Haha, works for me. They are knowledgeable and kind to the babies. They have a good supply of feed and treats that our girls love.We have already named our new babies our red fizzles are sweet potato and Miss Fizzle from the magic school bus series, along with Ember and Ash. They will be living inside the laundry room for the next few weeks at least. The better to hold them and socialize them.They have cool items for animal people to buy as well. Never disappointed.

I'm very happy that I tried this place. I typically had gone to the "Big Box" farm store in Paso for livestock handling equipment but my wife told me that they were "super nice" here so I figured that it was closer and if the prices were anywhere close, I'd give them the business. When I walked in I was greeted with a friendly "good morning" and asked if they could help me find anything. I told them what I was after and much to my surprise, the exact same items were several dollars less than they were advertised for at the "Big Box" farm supply store. I went to look around for some other parts that were germane to my project and the lady behind the counter told me that those items were included with the original items that I was purchasing. That's very cool in that she took enough of an interest and had the knowledge of her products to save me an unnecessary purchase that either would sit in my barn forever or involve another run to town to return them! The icing on the cake was that after I had paid and went to my truck to load up, the loading was already done. I had been a bit concerned about that aspect as I had recently had a rather extensive surgery done on my arm and wasn't quite sure how I was going to load the items into my truck with one arm! I am very pleased that I supported a small local business and will definitely be back.

I like to buy big bags of dog food here. They have all the good brands. The store is mostly for larger, ranch type animals though. Friendly and helpful staff!
