Mind you I am a young 20-year-old girl with a tall 40+-year-old man yelling in my face. Today I stopped into Food 4 Less really quick to grab a few items. After purchasing everything, I realize the conditioner I had grabbed was open and seems to be used. I returned to the aisle and swapped it out for the same conditioner and walked back through the checkout line, I had previously checked out through. I threw my receipt away in the garbage can line as I exited the store. Seconds later, a man ran out after me yelling that I needed to pay for my items and see my receipt. He did not identify himself until I asked if he was a police officer and continued to yell in my face and accuse me of stealing. At this point, I went back inside with him where my receipt was shown, and I asked to speak with a manager. She was NOT Apologetic about the situation AND BASICALLY TOLD ME IT WAS MY OWN FAULT. And defended him saying he was legally allowed to detain me. NEVER COME HERE.

Very clean and organized store. The produce looked great as did all departments. We had a gift card and didn't quite know how to use it and the cashier was very helpful and patient.

We like going to Food 4 Less as their prices are good. Today I was pushing a cart in the produce section when an employee (had a name tag on) stepped right out in front of me forcing me to come to a complete stop. He was looking down at his cellphone. He never did look up and just kept on walking looking at his cellphone like he never saw me. As I was going to checkout I saw that the light for cashier #6 was on. As I entered the lane I saw a closed sign. As I went pass the self checkout I told the girl there that the #6 light needs to be turned out. She told me that it was open and pointed to a girl talking to another employee at customer service. I told her about the closed sign and she just said “oh” and went over and turned off the sign light. They need to pay more attention in this store.

Ran in while I was supercharging my car for some ice. Loved the local art/photos hung on the wall. Love that it’s 100% employee owned as well.

Great prices, lots of options. Layout of store is odd but the prices are great. Why are there so many employees standing around and not willing to assist? Why is only self checkout open and employees standing around. I asked and he scoffed and walked away.

I'm a disable Citizen of pismo Beach, California. Today I went shopping at Food 4 Less. i asked cashier Abigail if i could get free paper bag's because i was paying with EBT Food Stapes. I couldn't spare 10 cents per bag she said no we don't give out free bags. i asked for a manger. She said no to paper bags paying with EBT, then she left i told cashier i would take business elsewhere. Abigail said "I really don't care much".I continued on. I put all my groceries in without paper bags i. my cart. I will not return to this location..

Supposedly open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year? Me and many others tried going there on Christmas day and you were closed! That is false advertising! Put that you do close sometimes, when you feel like it or I will single handedly do something about your false advertising!!!

Food for less in Arroyo Grande closed the door before closing time. I really wanted this yogurt only they carry and I had 6 minutes until they were supposed to be closed and their doors were already locked. I hate when businesses are more worried about going home than making money.

To the corporate of food 4 lessIt is way better idea to close this branch than let these ladies there calls managers to destroy the name of (Food 4 Less)Awful attitude and for sure no human being dealing to customers being there over 15 years spending thousand dollar monthly for their needs ... Line of self service is shame with 25 items only no other stores do that... letting the customers empty full basket of the same item is stupid idea they can easy count the items in the basket using the multiple function at the system as always now scanning each item on the scanner even if you have tens of the pieces of same item ... When I asked the person doing this is there new management here she said I'm the management with nasty attitude ...Get someone know how to deal with humans ... Overworked staff, only one cashier during busy times and long lines while other staff wanders the isles slowly restocking shelves with half a dozen items before walking away to the back of the store.Some of the prices are good while others are worse. Staff in produce do greet you as you enter but once you reach the cashier you feel like management thinks you are trapped and won't walk away and leave what you came for so you leave feeling like you and the cashier are victims of corporate greed.I feel sorry for the staff as it must be torture for them to be powerless to do anything to fix it.

Good price for chocolate milk and they carry a cheese that my mom likes called Kaukauna - from Wisconsin. Spreadable cheese that is pretty good.

They have become "Food 4 More" since pandemic. They were first to stop wearing masks. I see employees as nasty!Two employees told me I had to leave my backpack at check stand.My backpack has clear hose coming out for my oxygen. Just to show how stupid they are. And manager couldn't even apologize to me. Coward! Weak!Worst manager I've ever seen in my 67 years of life.Smart and Final I'm treated with respect and care. Prices are better in many ways for full service. Check it out people!Lose the ghetto store and move up with me.I'm a Air Force veteran.My hat clearly shows that!

The store was very clean and organized. The prices, quality and amount of the fresh produce was very good. Great selection of fresh fruit and vegetables. The store was well stocked with can goods and paper products. The store has wide isles so it was easy to move around the store. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

My first choice for a store when looking for fresh produce with great selection. Always clean with many employees happy to help you find an item. Prices are competitive locally. There is warm food if you need a snack for the kids like a corn dog or taquito.

Extremely clean store with nice wide aisles and a very good selection of grocery items. I have no idea why someone would shop for groceries at Walmart in the same shopping center. Prices are fair and you can easily walk through the wide aisles un like the narrow catacombs at Walmart. Check out was easy and fast. This is where we shop for food in our area.

Update from 3 years ago:Ever since the implementation of self checkout it has gotten worse. Today, at 1:50pm, one checker with a line of 12! people in line. No a single customer in self checkout! Know your customer base!Terrible service. Rodney the supervisor just talks out his rear end. Prices on shelves are not correct. Also, no cleaning being done. Cashiers don't use any precautions. Have a complaint, they'll just tell you to call corporate. Terrible store.

Good prices. Open 24 hours. Plenty of parking. Pretty good loaves of freshly baked French bread for a dollar. Wish they had a service deli with fresh items: deli meats, cheeses, cold salads, hot soups. Can't always find the specific brand or item I want. Store always seems to be clean.

Nicole G is the worse checker I've ever encountered. There was one lane open and she was only one checking people out. Completely understand that there would be a long line however, when a man asked if she can call for back up, Nicole said no one else was available. She then made a phone call to another employee and began to talk about how rude the customer was. Which made her even slower. She was distracted while on phone discussing non work bs. I hope the manager does something about this. This isn't about having to wait patiently in line. This is about a checker who had no sense of urgency and then proceeded to be unprofessional in front of other customers.

I love this store. Ever since they put it in Arroyo Grande it has always been clean, well-stocked, friendly employees, & wide aisles, all of which are needed for a pleasant shopping experience. I was going to Vons but the lines are so long and it's really hard to get through there when it's busy. And most of their checkers do not seem very happy with their jobs I'm sorry to say. But since I have going to Food 4 Less I am enjoying food shopping again. The prices are great too!

High quality produce and meats at very competitive prices. Clean warehouse-style store with wide aisles, well arranged. Friendly service at meat counter and checkout. Carries national brands as well as very good store brands of packaged groceries. Concentrates on food and gets it right; doesn't try to distract you with flower arrangements, greeting cards, patio furniture like so many supermarkets.

Good prices. Green leafy produce not so good. Wide aisles and good customer service is hit or miss. Go early when it is slow. I've only been to this new location three times since it has open. First time I went there were signs up apologizing about the poor produce. Second time I went I was looking at the avocados the gentleman working in the area told me he threw out all the soft ones. I was like what, why? Some people actually want to buy the ones that are already ripe. There was only two registers open however it was dead in there so I made it out quickly . The third time I went the produce looked better and I was able to find some soft avocados. Again there were only two registers open and I waited in line for about 10 minutes. They don't have Baggers here not sure if it's like that at all food4lesss so be prepared to back your food quickly if it's busy. Think I'll just stick with my normal grocery store

Outstanding fresh produce at great price's. A really good organic produce section as well. I love the whole roasted chicken's. Knowledgable butcher's. A huge inventory of everything food, cleaning supplies, hygiene, you name it. Smart friendly employee's. Stop by and save a few dollar's.

I enjoyed shopping there for the most part. I am totally disabled and use a scooter to shop. I had no idea I had to bag my own food. It is hard enough to shop alone but almost impossible to bag my food. The cashier saw how much trouble I was having even standing yet alone bag food yet did not call for someone to help me. Due to the need to bag my food I will not shop here anymore.
