Some interesting creatures sold here, like a huge snake for example. They have reptiles, birds, and mammals, but not too many fish. That being said, they do have low maintain fish that is great for kids to have as pets.

Everybody was so helpful when I went into the store to buy some dog food. Genuinely tried to get me exactly what I wanted and it was definitely appreciated. Prices were a little bit higher the big box stores but that’s understandable, considering they’re a much smaller store. I recommend this store for all your pet care needs. Also, they have a fabulous selection !

I haven't been here for years, that is, over 14 years ago. It's definitely expensive. Lots of birds, fish, and reptiles, and some neat accessories for dogs and cats. Personally, I like Petco or Petsmart a bit more, but first and foremost, it's good to support local businesses. I thought the customer service was very attentive and friendly Also, I'm just glad to see that they're still around and (hopefully) doing well.

Wide variety. Good prices for a pet store. Clean. Pleasant staff. Lots of parking. The reason I gave 3 stars is they are closed on Sundays. It's a big hassle for those who don't have a car to have to go to petco and personally I would rather spend my money at a local place than anywhere else

Do not take your dog to get groomed here! I recently moved from Paso to Arroyo Grande. I’ve been taking Sophie my Pomeranian to the same groomer for 7 years in Paso Robles after moving to Arroyo Grande I started asking around. Three different people recommended Caroline at Pet Emporium so I took a risk. I am very disappointed my poor Sophie came out looking worse then when I took her in! Her hair is so uneven and it’s the worse haircut she has ever gotten! Also way more expensive then I normally pay, she charged me $58 when I would pay $40 in Paso Robles. Such a botched job! Take a look at the pictures the video I included is after a haircut from her groomer in Paso Robles. You can tell the difference between a great groomer and a bad one. Never again!

Horrible FIRST time experience!!! The worst “pet store!” I spent $45 on 3 glofish within 45 mins of having them 2 died. I called them to ask since I literally just bought them can they please replace them. First Lady I spoke with started asking me a million questions like I’m a fish inspector. First she tells me I can bring them in, then she says “no I’m sorry our policy is we don’t exchange fish.” I ask to speak with her manager she places me on hold to come back without her manager telling me the same thing. I asked her again, “let me speak to YOUR manager please!” She gets her on the phone to tell me yet the same thing!! I asked, “so you can not do this as a one time courtesy?” “I spend $45 in your store on fish that I literally just bought!” Rude and very unprofessional customer service! For the very first time moving here thinking this can be my “local pet store.” Absolutely NOT! I will not pass this store down to anyone in this area! Absolutely ridiculous!!! And WAY OVER priced! Way to go CD’s!! I think not! The only reason I rated it a 1star is because I had to, to write this review. Other than that it would have been NO STARS!

One of the best localy owned pet stores on the central coast. The staff as really kind and know what they're talking about. We bought a corn snake for my son along with a terrium and all he needed for the snake there. If you have a chance stop by there and say hi to "girlfriend." If your a local you know what I'm talking about if not stop by and see.

A year and a half ago I bought a ball python and noticed he had mites a week later, when I called and asked they informed me that all of their snakes had it and yet they still sold him to me. Was not able to be compensated for any money I spent on more products to get rid of them. No matter how hard I tried they would not go away and kept coming back and it was an absolute nightmare. He died just a week ago at 2.5 years old when their life expectancy is 20-30 years. Very heartbreaking.

Don't expect them to groom cats the groomer is too afraid to handle them and will cancel appointments without notifying the customer ahead of time. She's also incredibly rude when you try to talk to her.

I brought my three dogs in to be groomed and they look wonderful! They all had cute bows for the 4th of July and they are adorable. Very professional and great with my girls. I would highly recommend 👌

Brought my dog here to get groomed and a few days later we found fleas on him. We’re still trying to get rid of them. Went to the store to let them know and to hopefully get compensated for the flea removal products we had to purchase from them and was told the owner would call us back to discuss but never got a call.

I made a grooming appointment at CD's for my dog. I arrived a few minutes before the appointment time, and was promptly received. I received a call when the groomer was done. All my expectations were met.Susan, the groomer, was wonderful ! Easy to communicate with, and, took great care in meeting my dog. Best of all, the results of the bath/haircut for my dog were beyond fabulous. Weeks later, we continue to receive compliments about his haircut. ** Highly recommend.** I'll be back !

My 2.5 yr old daughter and I went here for our first time, after calling to see if they had any pet rats (they do!), unlike any of the big chain pet stores. The girl on the phone was very helpful and nice, and she was just as friendly and helpful in person. She let us hold as many as we wanted before picking, offered tips in a kind way, and was overall supportive. I wished i hadn’t purchased any items from a chain pet store after coming here! Their prices weren’t that much different on what we purchased, and actually the same prices on some things, like toys for rats/small animals. We got a cage on craigslist, but they had a lot of better options here. Overall, a good experience, and we will be returning.

I'll definitely be coming back, the staff are friendly, funny And helpful. The store has it's own local feel, like a growing family business. they have a wide variety of pets there, great place to go and kill time. The prices are a little high in my opinion, ex. A cocktail( a normal gray one) cost $130 but they are also hand traned. All 'n all this place is great and I think it's a great pet store.

We purchased a great bird from this store 3 weeks ago and all has been great. Along with wonderful staff. However: today we took our bird in for feathers to be clipped and was shocked at the price for a 5 minute job. We should have asked price before we had it done. But this store had always been great and good quality, So assumed the fairness would also apply to this service..... well I was wrong, so will not be going back for sure

I will always support my local stores. An incredible experience. I walk in to the store and I saw the floor being cleaned. Big plus. Some stores could care less. Every thing I needed was in stock except 1 item. Now this part takes the cake. They asked me if I wanted to leave my phone number so that when the item came in , they could call me. No other store has ever asked me that. Plus , the staff working there , doesn't over step their boundaries. They offer you their help , and if you want it accept it If not , don't. This store will always have my business.

I called to make a grooming appointment for my sky terrier they transferred me to the grooming department and because it was my first appointment she said it would be 3 weeks and I said that would be fine she put me on hold and I waited for 15 minutes and she hung up on me! great customer service! Very friendly staff and a great local pet shop. I buy all my feeders for my panther chameleon and ball python here; I stopped purchasing insects from Petco because every time I would, half the insects we’re dead the next morning. On top of that, Petco does not sell live mice/rats as feeders. Guess who does….CD’s Pet Emporium! Although they can be slightly more expensive than purchasing online, I am happy to pay that small difference in support of a store so conveniently close to home and with such good expertise and products. Would highly recommend!

I have been using CDs for over 2 years now and they are a fantastic establishment that treats their customers and animals with great respect. I own reptiles and they always have a good supply of reptile food and equipment, plus I enjoy reptile zone in the back of the store. Keep it up!!

Such a cool pet store! Birds, fish, reptiles, and critters. The store has 2 pet parrots that perch in the center of the building on their tree house. A great selection of birds and fish. The neatest reptile house. Complete with snakes, chameleons, lizards, frogs, turtles. Kids would love it, adults too!
